Applies to: Anectine Flo-Pack (succinylcholine) and carbachol ophthalmic
MONITOR: Carbachol may prolong and enhance the action of depolarizing neuromuscular blocking agents due to synergistic effects at the neuromuscular junction in skeletal muscle. Patients may experience prolonged muscle weakness and apnea.
MANAGEMENT: Close observation for profound and prolonged respiratory depression and muscle weakness is recommended if these drugs must be used together.
