Drug Interactions between amisulpride and bromocriptine
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- amisulpride
- bromocriptine
Interactions between your drugs
bromocriptine amisulpride
Applies to: bromocriptine and amisulpride
GENERALLY AVOID: Agents with central antidopaminergic activity such as amisulpride may antagonize the pharmacologic effects of levodopa and other dopamine agonists, and vice versa. In addition, the central nervous system depressant and hypotensive effects of these agents may be additively or synergistically increased when taken together.
MANAGEMENT: Coadministration of amisulpride with levodopa or other dopamine agonists should generally be avoided. If concomitant administration is necessary, patients should be monitored for excessive sedation, hypotension, and potentially diminished therapeutic response to both treatments.

Drug and food interactions
bromocriptine food
Applies to: bromocriptine
GENERALLY AVOID: Alcohol may potentiate some of the pharmacologic effects of CNS-active agents. Use in combination may result in additive central nervous system depression and/or impairment of judgment, thinking, and psychomotor skills.
MANAGEMENT: Patients receiving CNS-active agents should be warned of this interaction and advised to avoid or limit consumption of alcohol. Ambulatory patients should be counseled to avoid hazardous activities requiring complete mental alertness and motor coordination until they know how these agents affect them, and to notify their physician if they experience excessive or prolonged CNS effects that interfere with their normal activities.

bromocriptine food
Applies to: bromocriptine
MONITOR: Nicotine may cause vasoconstriction in some patients and potentiate the ischemic response to ergot alkaloids.
MANAGEMENT: Caution may be advisable when ergot alkaloids are used in combination with nicotine products. Patients should be advised to seek immediate medical attention if they experience potential symptoms of ischemia such as coldness, pallor, cyanosis, numbness, tingling, or pain in the extremities; muscle weakness; severe or worsening headache; visual disturbances; severe abdominal pain; chest pain; and shortness of breath.
