About Thrombocytopenia Autoimmune:  Thrombocytopenia is a disorder in which the number of platelets is abnormally low. Thrombocytopenia may be caused by an autoimmune disease where the bone marrow produces enough platelets, however the immune system can produce antibodies that attack the platelets.
