Medications for Chikungunya Virus Infection

Other names: Chikungunya; Chikungunya Fever; Chikungunya Hemorrhagic Fever

Chikungunya virus is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito, primarily Aedes aegypti (yellow fever mosquito) or Aedes albopictus (Asian tiger mosquito). It is similar to the West Nile and dengue viruses. The most common symptoms are fever and joint pain, but may also include headache, muscle pain, joint swelling, and rash.
