Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I found Flomax very effective for increasing the size of my urine flow, and taking away the uncomfortable pressure I felt moments before urinating. I take the lower dose of .4MG, and have found that taking it every-other day is as effective for me as taking it daily."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "At first I took this medicine at night, but had no ejaculations, soft erections. Then began taking this medicine after breakfast. Now able to have near normal ejaculations, as well near normal erections. Try taking after breakfast and see how it works."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Flomax works well as for helping to pee. I hope there is another medicine soon because it interferes with sex life and ejaculations is internal. I must admit though it does help in urination. So if you have an active sex life you may want to ask for a different medicine."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Urinary Tract Stones "I get Kidney Stones on a near daily basis trying to pass. I've been in the hospital a total of 35 times in the last year. Each for Kidney Stone pain. After my third visit the doc gave me Flomax and it passed 5 stones all 3-5mm in size within 30 minutes of me taking it. Since then no other Doctor would give it to me because "I didn't need it". Well finally yesterday my doc agreed with me and wrote the prescription I passes a 8mm stone 30 mins after taking the Flomax. I HIGHLY recommended this to anyone who is suffering from a kidney stone. It reduces the pain and makes the passing a WHOLE lot easier."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Flomax improved my ability to pee however it also made me listless and I experienced dizziness when changing positions suddenly. After a (1) month trial I am giving it up. For me the benefits are not worth the side effects."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "After being diagnosed with type2 diabetes at age 50, I began scatching my groin unconsciously. It was an itch I couldn't scratch. I was also dribbling urine a bit before I could make it to the rest room. My doctor prescribed a kidney/bladder ultrasound because I had high proteins in my urine. The ultrasound revealed a thickening of the bladder wall at the urethra. I was diagnosed with BPH, benign prostate hyperplasia. That sucker was huge. I was prescribed Flomax. From day one it worked. Complete bladder empty, no drips and no more scratching. One major side-effect: dry/retrograde ejaculation. When the wife and I get frisky, absolutely nothing comes out. It is back flowing into my bladder."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Flomax (Tamsulonsin hydrochlorid) helped me to uriniate normally. It did make me feel very tired and weak. I was taking one 0.4 mg a day. I started taking it with breakfast, but switched to taking it after dinner. That helped with most of the tiredness."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Started getting some relief within 24 hrs of starting, which is considerably faster than the doc said. Still some hesitancy, but flow much better. No side effects. Hard to complain. Just do it! I suffered too long, might have done some damage had I gone much longer."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "AVOID THIS DRUG! After taking only ONE pill, I was sick as a dog, and felt like I had the flu! Almost 24 hours later, feeling better, but not 100% yet. I don't doubt the drug's effectiveness of BPH, however as far as I'm concerned the particularly nasty side effects simply isn't worth any of its so-called benefits. I will be seeikng alternative, more natural treatments to my minor BPH case. NEVER AGAIN Flomax!"

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have mixed feelings about Flomax. The sexual side effects should by now be well known and doctors and pharmacists should be discussing but sometimes fail to do so. Flomax is very seldom given to young men, commonly it is given to those 50+. If you are sexually active the side effects can be problematic. If you are not sexually active the sexual side effects can be a good thing. I fall into the latter category and a diminished libido, combined with a gentler ejaculation is a good thing. But, after being on Flomax continually for about a week, the back and joint pain starts. Not good. The nasal congestion and headaches also not good. I discussed with my doctor, she suggested that I try taking it every second day. So far so good."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "57 years old and have been on Tamsulosin for about 4 years. Had reoccurring urination problems for a couple of years after a prolonged bad bout with prostititis. Ended up with blockage that required catheter for a couple of weeks. (not the first time) Urologist put me on this "stuff", and yes I am now Niagara falls in the can, but the side effects were and are off the charts and have gotten progressively worse over time. Constant dizziness, no energy, bad balance, muscle & joint aches, breathing and sinus problems (runny nose, sneezing, pain, nasal drip) and recently have developed a cough and have to clear throat constantly. I'm done! Tapering off. Will talk to my urologist about other options. At this point the catheter looks good! lol This drug does work well, but the "price" of the side effects is just too high for me. Good luck!!"

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I was suffering for many weeks with pain , extreme urge to urinate at getting up 10-15 times a night . Urine volume was low plus very weak stream . My doctor subscribed Flomax . Took the first one four hours before bedtime . Almost cried because all the symptoms disappeared . Finally a good nights sleep . Couldn't believe how fast it worked . After a couple of days was back to my normal self . Normal stream , no pain or urge to urinate . Though it was a miracle drug . Then , after three days , the side affects started showing up . First a slightly sore back . Then overall general muscle weakness , dry ejaculation ( reverse ) , soft erection , very weak orgasm at first and finally no orgasm period . Stopped using this today . Day 5 ."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Urinary Tract Stones "I am a 42 year oold woman. I was prescribed flomax for kidney stones. Have been on this for almost 2 weeks but I just can't take the side effects anymore. My head and neck hurt so bad and it will NOT go away no matter what I do. I feel dizzy, weak and very "winded" it seems hard to catch my breath. I feel in a catch 22 bc it helps the urine flow, but I just feel so awful otherwise.... ???"

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Urinary Tract Stones "You all are going to think I'm crazy or a genius but either way I'm relieved. I've been in excruciating pain for months & my doctors were thinking it was from a herniated disc but my gut instinct told me it was something else. Although the disc is painful I know it's stones, I had all the symptoms. I don't have a mm or cm to share because they never sent me for CS. I was an in home health aide and the patient I cared for passed away & he had Flomax, I had a feeling I would need them someday. I was at the doctors office today in tears crying & honestly just couldn't bear it anymore. He handed me a tissue and gave me a referral to a pain management clinic. I did research on stones took Flomax & in 2 hours passed it & no more pain. Praise God!"

For Urinary Tract Stones "I am genetically disposed to being a kidney stone maker - a few family members have it and we don't live together so it's not the diet LOL. Anyway, I am lucky enough that most stones passing do not cause me much problems. The occasional stone does however present difficulty, if it is bigger than 4.5mm, I have to take a flomax, usually only 2 or 3 days at a time, until stone has passed. I am a 51yo woman and have not experienced any side effects from the drug."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Urinary Tract Stones "Prescribed Flomax for a possible kidney stone. Took around 6pm. Didn't notice much, became a bit drowsy, pain seem to be better but remained a bit. Around midnight when trying to sleep is when the terror started. Couldn't seem to sleep but when I finally started to doze off I suddenly awoke with a full blown panic attack. Hard to breathe, racing heart, room spinning, going in and out of consciousness while on the phone with 911. Ems showed up and stuck around a while. I decided to stay home and try and sleep again. Again, same thing happened. Right before falling asleep panic attack again but this time less severe. By now it's 5am. I decided to try to sleep once more. If not, I was going to the ER. I somehow got about 2 hours of sleep woke up with a massive headache. After taking some pain killers, I managed to dose off and by noon the nightmare was over. I do NOT recommend this medication!!!"

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "Only the brand Flomax works for me. After falling asleep on the seat a few times I switched to Flomax brand and it made all the difference in the world. If I DO wake up to pee, I pee. It's like having a 30-year-old prostate (not 65). But I can pee, whee!"

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Urinary Tract Stones "I tried to pass a 5.5 millimeter kidney stone for four days. Finally went for help. Two days of Flomax and the Stone was out. I felt nothing except a brief slice at the urethra opening as it exited. I am a woman, so the Flomax is prescribed off label. It did give me a bit of a headache, but nothing too bad. Not sure how that would have worked out with a longer run of Flomax. I’m very grateful my ER doctor prescribed it."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I am currently almost 65 years of age. For several years I suffered off and on with symptoms of BPH (frequent urination, difficulty urinating, weak stream, etc) day and night. Sometimes I would wake up 8-10 times a night for bathroom visits. Not being a person who goes to doctors regularly I tried about every OTC and home remedy I could find. Two months ago I finally visited a doctor and described my condition. He prescribed Flomax and I started noticing improvement within a few weeks of taking it. After about five weeks I was sleeping 6-7 hours between bathroom visits. I have noticed no side effects other than slight occasional headaches which may or may not be related to the use of Flomax. Thank you Flomax!"

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "A miracle drug. Thanks. I didn't realize how much I had changed my life style. I was always looking for a bathroom, my wife and I stopped taking long drives in the country for fear I would have to suddenly go and worst of all, I stopped going to sporting events because I was afraid I wouldn't make it home in time. Lastly, I was getting up four or five times a night to go to the bathroom. That is all over now and we are enjoying our lives again."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Urinary Tract Stones "Suffer from uric acid stones on an average of every 4-6 months. Was given a prescription for Flomax last ER visit; filled it to keep on hand. Two days ago had an attack and decided to try the Flomax. Amazingly, the stone passed in an hour and a half instead of the next day!....This has never happened before and it really shortened the terrible pain which usually lasts many hours. I will definitely try this next time I have an attack, which I KNOW will happen again."

Flomax (tamsulosin) for Urinary Tract Stones "I went to emergency 7 days ago with kidney pain. I had stone in both kidneys. 5mm to right, 3 mm to left. Two doctors talked to me one was experienced & other was & fresh graduate. They told me I am going through surgery. I am self employed I had bad experience with fresh grad doctor 2 years ago. He operated me for lithotripsy & put a stent in me. Stent was not placed properly & I know how I spent 2 weeks with stent. Now I refused to become their practice animal. They prescribed me flomax 0.4mg for 7 days. I passed small stone within 5 days next two days I passed second stone. Only discomfort was shortness in breath, a little bleeding from nose & frequent urge to pee. I continue my business in this duration. Thanks flomax."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I'm a 55 year old male. For many years I've have had weak stream but not to the point to make me want to see a doctor. Recently though when I would wake up it would be complete blockage with some discomfort as I sat there waiting and waiting on the toilet. So brought this up with doc and he prescribed tamsulosin. I'm not kidding, within one day, like a fire hydrant was opened and it was like I was in college again. I do have tooth sensitivity like when I'm chewing ice it's almost painful. I only take once every 2 days. Great stuff."
