For Birth Control "I have been on Generess for a little over a year now. I do remember my symptoms being kind of all over the place. Lasted for a good 6 months. My period was on schedule for a good 8 months with a light flow. Now its barely anything. I do have sex regularly and I hate that I'm still nervous every month because I don't see blood, but no pregnancies have occurred. I'm wondering if I should switch, but reading other experiences, its kind of made me feel a little better."

For Birth Control "My moods have been horrible. At first I was extremely angry and temperamental. Now depressed and do not want to be touched. I've been on it 5 weeks. Thought I was going crazy then tonight remembered that I changed birth control recently."

For Birth Control "I started this pill a month ago. After 4 days of taking it, I had a heavy period and terrible cramps that lasted for 5 days. The cramps was gone and the heavy period went away, but after 2 days I had the medium bleeding again and the cramps. It gets worse when exposed to cold or I am cold. I do not know why. I never had this problem before. I'm am experiencing breasts tenderness and depression. And now I am on my 2nd brown pill and I have cramps and moderate bleeding. I do not know if this is normal but I am still taking it. My sister-in-law said, who is a nurse that this is normal and would normally lasts for 3 mos."

For Birth Control "I have been on Generess for 4 months. The savings card is nice because you only have to pay $25 out of pocket. And the chewable mint flavored pill is nice too. But I had to give it a lower rating because it made my skin very oily and completely broken out all the time. I was on Beyaz before and loved it and it cleared my skin amazingly."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control for about 4 years and stopped roughly four months ago. I feel 1000x better being off birth control. As for effectiveness, this pill gets an A+. I missed pills often and skipped days (terrible, I know), and never got pregnant. However, the side effects were eventually unbearable for me. I have always been an anxious person, but on this BC, my anxiety was amplified. I would wake up 1-2x a month in the middle of the night with my heart racing and would feel extremely nauseous. I had a headache for about two weeks after starting a new pack and would get a horrible headache if I skipped a pill. I had horrible nausea while on this pill also. I was very moody on the pill and felt an inexplicable rage occasionally that I could not control. Overall, I feel much much better with NO birth control. The side effects make it not worth it to me - 4 months later all side effects are gone."

For Birth Control "Was put on Generess Fe to regulate spotting I have had for 3 months(PCOS). Have been on it a month and it has been a horrible experience. I was surprised to see all the great reviews since I am having such trouble. I am a usually very happy person and have been extremely depressed, emotional(crying outbursts at ridiculous things), and irritable. Ive had headaches daily since Day 1. Spotting has gotten worse. Breasts are so tender and painful and horrible low back cramps during the 3rd week. Praying this is just because Ive been so long without a cycle(8 years and 1 month) and its just shocking my body. Doctor says it could take 3-4 months to regulate. Not sure I can handle that but willing to try."

For Birth Control "I got a 3 months of a free sample. But, I only used 1 month. The first week was great. Then I started the second week and started spotting. I spotted every day till about the end of the pack. My moods were terrible. By the third week I was arguing with my boyfriend which felt like constantly. He told me it was like I was on my period mood wise that whole month. I'm not taking it anymore."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 3 months. I had switched because I had been on the same pill for 6 years prior. I've always had terrible cramps, but thought that was normal and I had to deal with it. Once on this pill, not only did my cramps get even worse, my breast were so tender I could barely put a bra on. However, everybody is very different and can experience different side effects. Although I'll be switching pills again, it is worth the trial to see if it may work for you."

For Birth Control "On the medication for 8 weeks now. Terrible mood swings, bloated all the time, face constantly breaking out (after contraception, I'm taking it too clear my face), mild weight gain, very light periods- if any, SEVERE nausea and constipated since the day I started the medication. Symptoms were so bad, I thought I was pregnant for a while....took 4 pregnancy tests over 3 weeks time to convince me it was just the severe side effects of birth control. I take no other medications on a consistent basis."

"I was on it for 7 months and it was my first birth control. I loved it because it cleared up my skin, lighter periods, lasts about 3-4 days which is short for me because I used to get them for a whole week. I used to have terrible cramps but Generess really helped with that. It definitely worked as a birth control. However, I became very depressed, and agitated. I would get mad over little things and I was sad all the time. Severe mood swings. So I stopped taking and now I'm on Sprintec. It's a lot cheaper and I no longer experience mood swings, I'm a lot happier."

For Birth Control "I've been taking the generic version of this drug for about 4 months. Gradually, I've been feeling more and more depressed and hopeless. I have no history of depression or any emotional issues, and just yesterday I couldn't get myself off the floor to leave the house. I've also gained weight, have an increase in body hair, and my sex drive is completely gone. I'm 28, far from puberty or menopause. The only good thing about the pill is my period are extremely light, sometimes it doesn't even come at all. I am switching immediately to a lower hormone pill because the depression is now interfering with my life and relationships and I know it's not normal. I am a student and my insurance completely covers it."

For Birth Control "I did not like Generess. It made my periods very regular (but heavy) and did prevent pregnancy well, but it made me breakout like crazy and gain weight. I've never had a real acne problem until I got on this pill at 20. I've been on it for 4 months and have has non-stop cystic acne. This acne has been not only on my face, but also on my neck, chest, back, and butt. This pill also made me gain 8 lbs, and I have not changed eating habits at all. This pill has also caused me to have ridiculous mood swings and be a cranky, moody, slightly bitchy person. Would not recommend"

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for two months and was not impressed. I had random spotting a couple times a week, so it was like I was constantly on my period. Also during the second month, my hair started falling out. It was so scary, because my hair never really fell out a lot when I would shower, but on this pill I would be finding clumps of hair. Needless to say, I'm switching to a different pill."

For Birth Control "I started taking Generess Fe 5 weeks ago. I bled for the entire first month. It just didn't stop. Then I developed a stronger sensitivity to dairy products than I ever had before. The past 3 days have been unbearable. I haven't been able to keep anything down, I started sweating and nearly fainted a few times. I've also thrown up 5 or more times. My mood swings have been really bad also. I have no idea if this does even help prevent pregnancy, as I needed a back up method for the first month. I'm stopping this and making an appointment to see my doctor. There's no way I can live with constant gas pains and nausea and throwing up."

"The pill did what it was supposed to. It made my periods tolerable. However, On the fourth pack I started noticing shortness of breath, elevated blood pressure and chest pain. I had all the tests done and after determining It wasn't a heart attack or blood clot, I went off of the birth control and a day later those symptoms went away."

For Birth Control "I took this as directed on the first day of my period, and my normal cycle I have three days of light bleeding, and a day, maybe two of heavy bleeding with one day of cramping, then a few more days of light bleeding. With these pills, I could not even finish one month because I have been bleeding for over two weeks. I've had cramps for three days straight and a fever. 24 hours after stopping the pills I am back to normal. I used to take the Genesis FE years ago and never had issues. It is not worth a lighter period to have issues like I did."

For Birth Control "This was the first birth control pill I tried. I went to my OBGYN with concerns about serious period irregularity. They just threw the pill at me. Within the first month I gained almost 10 pounds. I did have a slight appetite increase but I know most of it was because of this pill. At the time I didn't realize it but once I stopped I realized that I had been acting different on it. And I was also depressed a lot which isn't normal for me. I stayed on this brand for a few months then ultimately switched. As soon as I switched to a different forumla I lost the 10 pounds I gained in just 2 weeks, and I wasn't eating any different. It was crazy. overall, did its job. It regulated my periods and I never got pregnant. But side effects sucked."

For Birth Control "I feel like a 12-yr old while on this pill. I'm hungry and irritable and I've bled through for 2 months now. The bleeding hits me exactly half way through the pill cycle and on a Wednesday. I'm tired of having 2 periods a month and al the symptoms that come with it. I'm calling my OB on Monday to switch."

For Birth Control "I was on this medication for 3 months and didn't have a great experience with this one. For the first two weeks I was extremely nauseous, once that died down my breasts were sore and grew from a small B to a full C, at that time my sex drive dramatically decreased and I became very moody which never really stopped. Starting a different birth control at the end of this cycle and I am very relieved. I am giving it a two because it did prevent pregnancy and made my periods regular."

For Birth Control "As a 33 year old, well conditioned athlete, I had missed periods for over 6 months. My body fat percentage is extremely low and probably the cause of amenorrhea. I am on the last "active" pill now of Generess Fe and have changed no other factors in my life since starting this medication (Paleo diet, Crossfit & running). I have gained 15 pounds in the last 23 days and have never felt more uncomfortable in my own skin. I have taken birth control in the past and never had such an awful experience with side effects."

For Birth Control "I've been on Generess Fe for roughly 5 months and I'm still experiencing bad nausea. I have also noticed weight gain (probably around 10-15 lbs within the first couple of weeks), my breasts are constantly tender and I'm depressed and tired much of the time. I have an appointment to switch my birth control."

For Birth Control "I don't like this pill at all. I’ve never been hungrier, no matter how much I eat I can’t be satisfied. I lost my abs and I never even stopped bleeding. I hate looking at myself, I’ve lost my confidence and I feel depressed. I have stopped taking them. I’m not sacrificing my happiness with myself and my athletic performance for a pill that’s not even going to solve my bleeding issue."

For Birth Control "I was on birth control for over 10 years . I was switched to this brand because of heavy bleeding. I was put in the hospital for over a week after being diagnosed with pulmonary embolism due to the birth control. I was only on this pill about 6 months. Other pills I was on for years & never had this problem. Now I am unable to take birth control for the rest of my life."
