Used on my nose for 12 days, been off for 6 days now still red and scaly. My Dermatologist suggests vaseline over area during the day. How long will this continue to look so bad? Would Aloe Vera help with the healing?

Chesebrough Ponds Inc. manufactured Vaseline Carbolated Petroleum Jelly. The ingredients are: petralatum & chloroxylenol. It's not available now, only petroleum jelly without any other ingredients. I would like to mix my own when I find a source for Chloroxylenol. Thank you, Dale
