I assume the muli-shot protocols are more effective but I wonder by how much. Just completed my 2nd six month interval of 3 shots of orthovisc. Would very much prefer one shot ever 6 month. Assume there must be a down side to synvisc-one or everyone would get it.

A specialist suggested my mother had surgery on her shoulder (to put in a prothesis) and I want to try the Synvisc first, has anyone tried yet??
I am 82 yrs old---I've had synvisc one shots in both knees it did not help I had a synvisc one shot?

this is my 3rd year using synvisc. they worked great first two years but this year, my left knee got very swollen. Should I risk using it again? Strangely, my right knees was fine. there was no infection (had bacterial tests done on the fluid from swollen joint).
