My son has been in the Hospital for 6 weeks for schizophrenia he is on his fourth Medicine that is clozapine. The first week he was taking 25mg than 50mg only heard voices a little, now going on 3rd week and almost up to 200mg and voices are stronger and he is getting little violent is this normal?

we up'd his dose from around 300 mg daily to 450 mg but no improvement . is it worth increasing dose multiple times? or is it possible medicine not effective anymore. worry that if we get dose too high sedation will make it impossible fro him to work as he does now. he also smokes cigarettes.
