Official Answer by Drugs.com 8 Mar 2016

Uptravi, also known by the generic name of selexipag, is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

PAH is a serious type of high blood pressure in the vessels that supply blood to your lungs. As the pressure builds in the lungs, your heart's lower right chamber must work harder to pump blood through your lungs, leading to possible heart failure which can be fatal.

Uptravi lowers blood pressure in your lungs by widening the blood vessels that supply blood to the lungs, may help to keep your PAH from getting worse.
