Diovan (valsartan) for High Blood Pressure "Just changed from Enalapril to Valsartan, due to a cough, and then to Diovan due to a weird sensation that's like tripping. I can only describe it as almost an out-of-body experience. It just happens randomly but only lasts for a few minutes. Diovan is less spacy. I haven't seen anyone else report this so l guess they are LSD flashbacks from a misspent youth. Blood pressure is very good though."

Diovan (valsartan) for High Blood Pressure "Over a several year trial and error period to try to manage my familial hypertension, I now take 3 drugs to manage it. Diovan, Doxazosin, and Lercanidipine. I take all 3 at bedtime. I don't have any side effects I'm aware of, and my BP is now very well managed. Just be mindful that you need a blood test each year, and I understand they can affect liver function. After about 6 or 7 years, I've had no problems identified."

For High Blood Pressure "I never had high B/P until a year ago I take generic Valsartan/ HCTZ- Diovan- 160mg/ 25 mg. I have severe weakness, muscle, and joint pain, knees are bad. Diovan does take care of my B/P, Edema too. I have recently been put on Torsemide 20 mg I was told I was in heart failure, whoa!! I am a mess! Ativan helps, But because of people who abuse, people like those who need this Controlled med. suffer, my Dr. gives me not enough but 1 mg per day, so I suffer. I hope I can take Valsartan I am overweight and too weak too exercise"

For High Blood Pressure "I came to my doctor with a sudden onset of 184/111 HBP. I told her that as soon as I noticed it, I dropped soda and added more bananas and oats to my diet. She prescriber Valsartan, which apparently holds onto potassium - so add that to my bananas and potatoes in an effort to eat better....my arms have been numb for weeks and I was all weepy for the last week - I finally looked up side effects of valsartan and I am not going to take it anymore. Too much potassium messes with your nerves. I need my arms."

For High Blood Pressure "My doctor put me on 80mg of Valsartan (Diovan) today is going on day 3 of this medicine. I'm 31 yr old female. The only side effect I get from this medicine is a lightheaded and fuzzy feeling in my head..it's not to bad ..however it does make driving a car or exercise very limited..It has lowered my Blood Pressure 122/88 which is better than 150/80. I take the medicine at night so I can sleep through some of the effects but noticed I still have them when I wake up. Hopefully my body can adjust to this side effect."

For High Blood Pressure "I started on 80mg in Oct. Two weeks after taking my thumb went numb. We needed to increase the dose to 160mg once a day to help control my Bp. About two weeks later my left arm went numb. I had a stress test and and a brain MRI. Stress test fine and brain scan fine. I continue to have headaches and now going to a Chiro for headaches and neck stiffness. He thinks I may have a pinched nerve. I feel like this drug has caused my arm and leg numbness and headaches. I’m also shedding alot of hair. I began feeling like crap after I started taking this."

For High Blood Pressure "Believe it or not, I was taking perindopril for high blood pressure and began suffering from erectile dysfunction. I told my doctor and he switched me to valsartan. Within a week everything changed. I am waking up with erections akin to Viagra use - rock hard. I am 59 yrs old and thought all was lost regarding sex. My libido is higher as well. It has to be due to valsartan as it is the only thing that was changed since the ED problems."

For High Blood Pressure "I started taking Valsartan 80 Mg twice daily 2 weeks ago and it did Not bring my blood pressure down, the doctor switched me to Valsartan 160 Mg twice daily. I felt chest pain within 5 minutes of taking it so I was watching myself closely to see if it will happen every time I took the medicine. Side effects were my vision changed, itchy skin and the chest pain continued after each dose. I did reach out to my doctor about all the side effects and now waiting for a different high-blood pressure medicine."

For High Blood Pressure "4/2024: The dizziness side effect diminished over two to three days of use. 40mg once a day has helped lower my blood pressure somewhat, maybe enough. Only been on it for a week or so now. I take it after dinner, and I believe it helps me sleep better. High blood pressure at night can cause nosebleeds. They are lessening, I think. I feel high blood pressure makes my tinnitus stronger and louder in my ears/head. It sounds less loud when my blood pressure drops back to more normal levels. Good luck. Thanks to all who take the time to share their progress."
