For Menstrual Disorders "My doctor just prescribed this medication for me to use until my surgery. I am to take two 650mg tablets up to 3 times daily as needed. It is to be taken only during my menstrual cycle and not to exceed 5 days. I am always nervous and reluctant to take new medications. Yesterday I took my first dose when I was experiencing an extremely heavy menstrual flow and was getting very faint. I did not expect it to work so quickly! I saw a reduction of blood flow very quickly. I have taken only two more doses and I am still pleasantly surprised. I have noticed absolutely no side affects. "

For Menstrual Disorders "I love this medication. I bleed super heavy during my cycle. A pad and tampon will last for an hour at most. My doctor wants to do ablation surgery, but I wanted to try the medicine first. It really reduced the bleeding, but my periods went from 9 days to 13. However, they are light days so I'm happy. For the first 4 months I got a headache with each dose, but now that has gone away."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have 20 large fibroids that have come back after two my surgeries. I have just started taking these tablets and what a huge difference it has made to my life. I can now leave the house and no more flooding. I can sleep though the night without getting up multiple times to change. No more large clots. If you bleed to death every month, get these tablets!"

For Melasma "The melasma was 80 percent gone. I used it for six months 650 dosage. After stopped using it for a month or so, the melasma came back much darker. Yet, I'm using the best sunscreen out there and re-apply multiple times a day, but that darn thing still sneaking up on me, and now I'm back to square one. As far as side effects goes: I experienced weight loss, hair loss, grey hair, cold tingling feet , and unpredictable menstrual flow. All in all, I will not take this drug again. It's not worth going through with these side effects."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have only used it once and I hope it works similarly next month because for the first time in years I have felt 'normal' during my period. I was able to use regular tampons, practically no bleeding during the night (I usually have to sleep on a towel and get up multiple times). I usually have a massive blood loss and clots that make me feel like I'm passing my liver out of my body! I had energy again (I have anaemia due to adenomyosis/blood loss) and was able to actually go out and enjoy life. I would recommend at least give it a try. Like others I was unable to use the mirena coil and I was also reluctant to take the pill (hormones/mood swings/bloating). I found this amazing - and yeah, hoping it continues as well as it did this month :) Oh, and PS, I was only taking a half dose (I'm a bit of a worrier when it comes to medications) and it made my blood loss very light and very manageable."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I started taking Lysteda just one day ago and I can tell the difference in my period. Before taking this medication I would use 2 bags of 14 overnight pads in 3 days. I have used pantyliners this week. It works."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was prescribed this medicine by my OBGyn for heavy menstrual cycles. I was hesitant to take it due to how many you had to take (2 pills 3 times a day). I wouldn't recommend this medicine to anyone. My body has not been the same since. It did lighten my flow, however, I went to the ER multiple times. I have continued heart palpitations, body aches, chest pain, SOB, horrible headaches, body shivers, numbness in limbs, nausea, dizziness, diarrhea. This medicine has totally messed me up. I stopped over 2 months ago and the symptoms still haven't stopped."

For Melasma "I was prescribed TXA for melasma, which seemed to work - my melasma started to lighten after only a few weeks. However 6 weeks in to the treatment, my hair started shedding a lot. I stopped taking the TXA, however my hair continued to shed. I have not been taking the TXA for a month and my hair is continuing to thin and receded at the hair line, crown and nape of my neck. If anyone else experienced this, did your hair eventually return?"

For Menstrual Disorders "I have struggled with heavy menstruation all my life and ever since I was introduced to tranexamic acid life has been much easier -until this year. Tranexamic acid is no longer effective, it's been two weeks now on heavy periods. I've been prescribed Provera and it just made everything worse. I can't even go to work"

For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I'm premenopausal, and have had heavier and heavier periods for the past 2 years. It finally got difficult to do too much, as my bleeding got heavier, and the length of my period was getting longer. My Doctor prescribed Tranexamic Acid, and it has definitely worked. I've had no ill side effects."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and heavy menstrual bleeding. The doctor prescribed Lysteda 650MG tablets. My doctor stated he only wants me to take 1 tablet by mouth once daily. He prescribed me 6 pills with 2 refills. I took one yesterday. 12/11/2012 around 3:00. All I have been doing since is spotting. I am in WOW mode because I could not believe how fast it worked. The side effect I got from it is a headache. I am not experiencing any clotting. I also take vitamins. Since I have PCOS so my periods are irregular. They started being irregular when I was 20. I have always had regular periods until I turned 20. They diagnosed me on May 11th 2012 a day before my wedding anniversary and been battling since then."

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "Has definitely decreased my flow by about 50%, I have not had any accidents while taking this medication. Before I had at least one or two accidents per cycle. The headaches can be annoying but I'd take them over the heavy flow any day!"

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Menstrual Disorders "I used it for the first time....and I have spotting on a pad instead of tons of clotting and lots of bleeding. I feel better and did not feel it caused headaches and I do get PMS migraines as before. I would recommend it. I had a DNC to help with my problem 3 months ago and last month I started clotting and heavy bleeding again. My doctor told me to try this, as birth control did not do anything positive and made me feel like I am pregnant and gain weight. I am grateful this works as on the heavy bleeding clotting days I would feel emotionally slipping into real depression. I am not depressed but the bleeding seems to bring erratic mood swings. This did help as the doctor said it should. I am not worried about blood clots as I do not smoke."

For Menstrual Disorders "Where has this been all my life? My cycles were really heavy. I would use an ultra tampon and have an overnight pad on as well. I would go to the bathroom every hour. Now I can go every 3-4 hours. I don't have to worry about getting up in the middle of the night changing pads. Now I can move on with life and don't have to worry about going somewhere on cycle days."

For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I began to have heavy periods when I was very young, it was a nightmare to manage at school, because I had to sit through classes for a whole hour and afterwards would have to carefully waddle to the bathroom to change my pad! The first medication the doctors gave was the pill, a year on that and i had gained 1.5 stone and the periods were still too heavy. I came off the pill, lost the weight and began to take Tranexamic acid. I think I have been using it for around 4 years now. I take 2 tablets 3 times a day for the first 3/4 days of my period. The change in flow is dramatic and I really couldn't manage without them :)"

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "A miracle , an absolute miracle . I've been very sick for the past 3 years (so much so that I have chronic anemia , and have been requiring IV infusions from a hematologist and the anemia being so chronic has caused some irreversable damage to my body . So I had asked many doctors for help yet they all only seem to know about birth control or hysterectomy. Although I only took one month of treatment, my bleeding was about 70 percent reduced and I seemed to have a much more normal period. The pain was much less pain than I'm use to as my usual cramping and clotting was so severe it resembled labor and delivery of fist sized clots , and usually required a trip to the hospital for IV Toradol /Morphine for the quite severe pain. I can happily say I think this is going to heal me from the chronic Anemia with continued use and time. (side effects were not very noticeable if at all. Just much more normal period.)"

For Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "I took it for three days before the left side of my face went numb, and my coordination/depth perception became screwy. I went to the ER, where they diagnosed a "Partial" Bell's Palsy. There were so many Drs (Including neurologists) talking about my case bc my symptoms didn't fit into any diagnosis. I think that this side effect should be better publicized! Now I want to know if this paralysis is ever going to resolve. Has anyone out there experienced this?"

For Bleeding Disorder "I've had horrible periods since high school. I remember in high school when the bell rang I just sat there until the entire class left then walked to the office to get a ride home. When I got up, it was a puddle of blood. Literally a puddle. I'm 35 and would sleep with a towel under me plus an overnight pad because I would always overflow. I've started getting really bad clots and I am unable to take birth control pills. Bad bruises, weak, anemic.. You know the drill. So doctor suggested this... I'm on day 3 and it is a total game changer. I did a spin class this morning (usually day 2 of HEAVY flow) with a tampon and panty liner. I never ever thought this was possible. Small headache, totally worth it."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was prescribed this to reduce my heavy periods, which had been contributing to my aneamia - I had been getting annual iron transfusions for the previous three years. I'm on two three times per day for four days. They work as in, have reduced my bleeding significantly. I have not noticed any side effects during the days I take them. Initially when I took the tablets I would keep spotting for up to 7 days but the last few months my period is all over by day 5. My periods have gone from a 28 day cycle to a 35 day cycle - so I'm assuming this is a side effect. I do get some slight pre period cramping in the 2-3 days before I get my period now, which I have not had previously. My alternatives to taking this were getting a Mirena implant"

For Menstrual Disorders "My doctor prescribed this for heavy menstrual bleeding. This stuff is awesome. I have fibroids. The heaviest day of my period lasts 24 hours, where I have to change my tampon every hour. I use the heaviest absorbency - Tampax Ultra 15-18 milligrams. I'm a light sleeper, so even during the night I would get up every hour to change. And the cramps - horrible. I was poppingadvil every 4 hours and they still didn't ease all the cramping. This is my 2nd month of taking these. Blood loss is reduced by at least 75%. My heaviest day, I change every 3-4 hours now. The cramps are not nearly as bad. Also, I noticed after the 2nd day of taking this, my skin is so smooth and glowing. Like I've had a facial"

Lysteda (tranexamic acid) for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding "This drug Lysteda makes my period about 50-60% lighter. The one side effect I've experienced is being a bit tired that's it, but so does bleeding to death every month. I'll be taking this the next few periods while getting iron infusions due to being anemic from heavy fibroids/bleeding until I get an embolization."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was told by my GYN that this was a very effective and safe drug. My periods we're extremely heavy. I would have a flow so heavy in a 24 hour period that most women would experience in 5 to 7 days! So I was desperate. After taking this medicine, I experienced the worst cramping if my life and migraine for 3 days AFTER I was finished. Now I have been spotting one full week after my period which has never happened before. Not for me. Will never use this again."

For Menstrual Disorders "Young 30's with super heavy flow including clotting and severe cramps, for years. Gyno recommended tranexamix acid and it works great. I do experience severe cramping with diarrhea but I'm not sitting in a crime scene after putting a pad and a tampon on after 15 minutes on a short car ride, so I'd say it's a win. Hopefully that gets better as my body adjusts. I am on other medicines for other illnesses including migraines and ulcers so that could be the interactions of the medications but nonetheless, it's an improvement."
