"Read some reviews here, can relate to someone that said they had palpitations and feeling of " closing of the throat". You are either taking too much or you might have already a tendency to anxiety and as a stimulant, this medication will increase symptoms of anxiety. What can also help in case of the negative reactions, besides lowering the dosage, is DEFINITELY take the pill with at least an 8 oz glass of water to help dilute some of the strength of this diet aid. Taking it with a full glass or skim, soy or almond milk will be also soothing of negative symptoms. "

Bontril Slow Release (phendimetrazine) "Any side effects I had went away after a week or so. I've lost 14 pounds so far and it's only been 2 months. If I were to exersise I am sure I would have lost a lot more by now. I am not hungry and when I do eat I am satisfied with just a little food."

"I've been on bontril for 1 1/2 years. It has worked great!! I've lost over 110 pds. After struggling with weight all my life, this is the only medicine that has helped. After taking this for so long, the only thing different is the appetite suppressant qualities have worn off a little, but the energy qualities (still gives a little boost) are still there. With diet and exercise this works wonders. I exercise 1 1/2 hours for 5 days a week. Only side effect was sleeplessness for the first couple weeks."

"I just started taking 35 mg 3x a day and the only side effect is the bad taste in mouth. But as an appetite suppressant it is great! I just chew sugar free gum if it gets bad. Sometimes the taste will make you not want to eat which is good 2!!!"

"I have been on and off of phendimetrizine 35 mg for three years. The first 2 months I ever took them I lost 50 pounds. Until the past year I had a great experience with it... although I would yo-yo if I came off the pills and diet, they were extremely effective while doing it correctly. I would STRONGLY recommend never combining the pills with alcohol, too much caffeine, or cigarettes. The last year has actually driven me to be very hesitant to use the medicine. I am truly nervous of having a heart attack. I became very nervous, anxious, experienced high blood pressure, and heart palpitations. It's scary. Just be very careful because you will eventually think you need these pills to lose weight, and that is terrible. Be careful!"

"I have been taking phendimetrazine (Bontril 105 mg) since Sunday, for about 4 days. The first day I was a little jittery and could not eat anything then I developed a very bad headache but after my body getting over the initial shock it has adjusted to the medicine. I weighed in on Sunday at 214lbs, today Thursday I am 204. I have lost a whooping 10lbs ... I am so excited about this. I am watching my diet and I work out like crazy doing Boot Camp, Circuit Training and Cross Fit Training with my trainers. I started to take the medicine because I was doing all that exercise and my weight was not going down but now the combination of the pill and exercise I am seeing changes. I am 34 and 5'1."

"In 2008, I took phendimetrazine and along with diet and moderate exercise I lost 40 lbs in 3.5 months. The only side effect I had was occasional constipation when I didn't drink enough water. I didn't feel "the energy boost" like I was told I would. I loved it then! After gaining back 15lb (gained weight with pregnancy) and realizing my baby is now close to 3, it's time to get back into gear. Tried diet and exercise by itself with minimal results so I resorted to finding a weight loss clinic. I've been on the extended release for 5 days and it seems to be different. It doesn't seem to suppress my hunger like the first time around. I am still taking it though, I will weigh in on Oct. 16 so hopefully I will see results!"

"DO NOT USE THIS MEDICATION!!! A friend of mine used this medicine and turned into a different person. She went from a kind role model to so many people, to someone we barely see. When we do see her she seems irritated and is very harsh. She has received so many side affects such as... • Mood changes • Increase of sexual desire • Loss of appetite • Loss of interest in certain priorities"

Phendiet (phendimetrazine) "I have been using the medication for almost 3 weeks and have lost 10 lbs. I'm also doing cardio every other night for 30 minutes, and dumbbell/weights every other night (but that's a fairly light routine). I'm also eating a LOT of protein and have cut out simple carbs/sugar entirely. Will slowly bring those back into my diet next week. I did try the HCG diet (along with a VLCD) a few months back and lost over 20 lbs, but that was a HARD diet. This is much easier to manage and doesn't intrude on your lifestyle to the same extent. Since I'm only now 12 lbs above a BMI of 25, I'm sure I won't be able to take it for much longer...maybe another 3 weeks), as i will be on the high-end, but still in the "healthy" range within 3 weeks."

"I tried this years ago when I became tolerant to Phentermine. I thought this drug would be the "next step up." I took it three times daily, but don't remember the dose. It did not give me anxiety, but did gave me severe panic attacks (I know that doesn't even make sense!) I had never experienced a panic attack before this drug or since discontinuing. It did not suppress my appetite. That could have been from the cross tolerance to phentermine. I am the one who brought it to the attention of my doctor, who had never prescribed it previously. I guess there is a reason doctors don't prescribe it: not very effective with bad side effects and frequent dosing requirements."

"I lost weight in 2014 and kept it off until I got pregnant, I gained almost 40 lbs and it was hard to lose, I only lost 10lb on my own and wanted the doctor to give me a boost, I asked for Phentermine but he suggested Phendimetrazine would work better. NO!!! I gained weight, I ate right, worked out, didn't eat after 8 no sugars, no sodas, no nothing bad! For me it did not work. Now I am on Phentermine and I lost weight within the 1st week, I know its water weight but it is a start!"

"Lost 23 lbs in the first week. Kind of crazy. Then 12-15 every week after. This was in addition to a strict diet and cardio. Went from 357lbs to 230lbs. I am a larger man (6'3")and was told that 230 was a good weight for me by numerous doctors. Hopefully it will stay off!"

"I started taking the medication because I was tired of being "obese" by military standards. I have two kids, work a full schedule, and go to school full-time. I tried phenteramine, but I had horrible side effects. I have been eating 1400 calories a day for the first week and have dropped 8lbs. I drink at least 100 oz of water a day. I do drink diet Pepsi or coke. I keep a food journal which makes me responsible for what I put in my mouth. I use the Smart-Ones meals for lunch and breakfast to guarantee I know what I'm eating at work. Maybe a snack bar or yogurt for a snack. I usually eat every 3 hours. "

Bontril PDM (phendimetrazine) "I have been using bontril for 7.5 weeks with only a 6lb weight loss following a great diet of protein, fruits, and vegetables. I just phoned my physician's office and informed them that I plan on taking myself off of the medication secondary to severe constipation, headaches, insomnia, fatigue, and frequent urination. I have been off the medication for 5 days and feel so much better. I didn't realize the potential cardiac complications until today. Oh well, live and learn! Good luck to all!!"

Bontril Slow Release (phendimetrazine) "I started taking Bontril 105mg for about 4 days and haven't weighed myself yet. I used to take this pill about 4 years ago and lost around 30 pounds, but then stopped taking them when my former Doctor stopped prescribing diet pills. It was until a co-worker referred me to a new Doctor and I am completely happy with him. He first gave me Adipex but after 2 months with no weight loss results he changed me to Bontril last week. I am confident and happy that I am back to this pill and more than sure that it will work. I am 157 and 5" and my goal is to lose 35 pounds before my 20 months old birthday."

"The first 3 days I swear I felt so good I was not hungry, very little appetite and a lot of energy. But after that it all stopped and I went to back to how I felt before I started taking this pills. I don't know if I did something wrong? I feel really disappointed I seriously felt so motivated I was going to lose weight but I haven't lost anything"

"I have been taking this medicine for 2 1/2 weeks along with a high protein diet of 800 calories a day. I have lost 15 pounds so far. No side effects for me with the exception of the sweet taste in my mouth. It works. I love to eat...thats how I got to where I am, but I have to force myself to eat these days."

"I have only been taking it for a couple of days and I feel better than I have in years. I have to make myself eat. My energy is great but no jitters. I actually feel like doing things again. Great mood elevator. Wanting to lose approximately 30lbs. I don't have much will power but I think this will do the trick."

"I have had no problems with this medication. I feel extremely alert except at night, which I fall asleep quickly. I have lost 5 lbs in the first week because I am eating only what I should be eating. I have no appetite for the extra junk I have been eating for the last few years, when I put all this weight on me. Oh and now that I am not so consumed with my weight and snacking, I can concentrate on work so my work has improved as well."

"I've been taking phendimetrazine 105 mg once a day for a little over a week now. I've lost 6 pounds already without any exercise (recent foot injury). I definitely think once I start exercising again the results will be even better. I have had no jitters at all. The appetite suppressant part worked great the first 3 or 4 days but now has seemed to wear off a little. It's still there just not as strong. However, those 3 or 4 days really helped me realize how much I had been eating before and now it's much easier to eat just 2 or 3 small meals a day. I started at 172 lbs and my goal weight is 135 lbs. I'm also getting B12 injections once a week so that is probably contributing to the weight loss as well."

"I have been taking 105mg slow release of phendimetrazine, once a day for 3 months. I haven't experienced any bad side affects. It has curbed my wild cravings & making it possible to cut my caloric intake from 3500 a day to 1500 - 1700 a day. I don't really exercise, but I get up & move & leave the house, whereas before I didn't move off the bed or couch & didn't leave the house but once a week My only problem is, I have only lost 3 pounds. I don't drink sodas, I use sugarless foods & try not to eat any bad carbs. I am basically eating meat (beef, chicken & lean pork), yogurt, green veggies & a protein drink with a banana & blueberries. I am very depressed over this. I used to eat cookies, cakes & all kinds of bad snacks, now I don't."

Bontril Slow Release (phendimetrazine) "I lost 6 pounds on the first week of taking Bontril, then no more lost. I didn't have cravings at first but after 3 weeks I am hungry again. Headaches are gone, still doing the diet but nothing happens. I will finish the first bottle and see if it is worth it to start a second. I had high expectations."

"I started as a 220 lbs 6' man. I look good with a shirt on, and don't experience any social stigma for my weight, but knowing my BMI puts my ideal weight at 185. I decided to try this for a month and lose some Flab. First two weeks were amazing. No altered mental status, no insomnia, just a little headache. It prevented food and alcohol cravings, it gave me the incentive to workout before work. So far, so good. After the 15 day mark, it considerably lost its effectiveness. Near the end (30 days total) it didn't have any effect whatsoever. I partook in all the Christmas feasting. I stopped cardio and started partying again. By the end, I was down to 205lbs, but its deceptive. I looked no different, and now am getting worse craving than before."

Can't drop these 30lbs. My Dr. Put me on adipex 37mg last yr went up 172lbs. I freaked out became depressed. Was 172 down to 137lbs. Then bam baby #5 was in the oven. In Feb 2015 I saw my doctor about 1 month after birth of #5 about starting adipex again because I I weighed in at 200lbs. She agreed. Went from 200lbs to 148 lbs. Now I'm back to 150. How depressing/frustrating. Seen the doctor yesterday and gain 3 lbs and she recommended Bontril. Is this a good pill? What is the average weight loss from it? Please explain the best effect. Thank you so much."
