Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I wish they would consider making a type of xtampza where you do not have to eat a high-fat meal with it. It just does not always work the same as other times. Sometimes you do not want to eat when you are in pain. I feel we are disrespected by making the pill where it is assumed we will not take it responsibly. Its pain relief is inconsistent. Sometimes it works well for me and sometimes it does not. Please make this medication to where you can take with water and not have to get up at 4 am and figure out the correct thing to eat so it will work. This is ridiculous. Shame on treating people in pain like we are drug addicts. It is unfortunate."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "After severely injuring my back while lifting a patient, herniating three discs, three failed back surgeries and multiple ineffective pain relief measures I finally accepted that I will need medication until a cure for spinal nerve damage is found. Using oxycodone means I can walk my dog, keep my house neat, enjoy life with my husband and live life again. I am scruptiously careful about how much I take and keep them under lock and key for the safety of my grandchildren. With great care this drug can give you your life back. However if a person doesn't take very seriously the potential addiction properties it can make a bad situation worse."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "For years I suffered from severe back pain and despite medical records from specialists I was treated like a street level drug abuser by at least 20 different doctors. I was past the end of my rope. Two years ago I found a doctor who had compassion and put me on Oxycontin and now I actually have a very productive life!"

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I found this info. about this pain control med. not working to be accurate> I've been on Oxycodone for over 8 years and my pain has increased with time. I started this with the idea of I will finally get some pain relief but it's nothing like what the PA told me it was. It does not offer me extended pain relief but it does cause me not to sleep or if I do fall asleep. I have terrible nightmares, it's terrible on my stomach and I've tried taking it with many different foods and now I have this static sounding noise that is terrible. I was only given enough for a few weeks to see if it helps but it doesn't and because I don't want to start on Fentanyl I'm going back to what I was taking because this is so much worse and still no pain relief. Why is this even an option for chronic pain relief."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "My problems are like many that I've read on this site. I take 20 mg. oxycodone (not oxycontin) x 4 daily. It does enough so that I can have a life. Still in pain, but as someone wrote, just tamping down the pain is all you can expect. I just wonder why oxycodone worked when pure morphine did nothing for pain but going thru withdrawal from it was pure nightmare. I have tried taking myself off oxycodone a few times because I feel ashamed about taking it, you know, can't just keep a stiff upper lip. Withdrawal from oxycodone was a walk in the park. How can you take a drug like morphine that has absolutely no effect while oxycodone does help some with fewer side effects. It just doesn't make sense. I have come to the conclusion that I am stuck on pain killers for the rest of my life and just don't talk about it. Maybe they will develop a drug that kills the pain and doesn't cause addiction or dependence. Why are we still taking drugs that haven't really changed in 60 years or so?"

For Chronic Pain "I've been taking oxycodone 10 mg immediate release tablets for many years after hip fracture and breaking my back, but I've noticed the last 3 months it's NOT working like it has for years, it's not helping with like it once did, and it use to give me a little energy which was a plus. I'm wondering if Kvk tech has weakened the strength of the med.I've used multiple Manufactures oxycodone and Kvk tech has always worked well for me. I guess I'll be looking for different manufacturers of this medicine."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Pain "I am another patient to say Xtampza ER just sucks, it doesn't work. To get it to maybe work I gotta be a fat as with fatty hi cal foods? 7 spinal surgeries and 16 years on OxyContin and I was all good. It controlled the tingling nasty damaged nerve at the top of my butt crack that when it is firing is unbearable. I'm 64 year old pain patient suffering unbearably when the pain used to be under control"

For Chronic Pain "KVK Tech Oxycodone is absolutely Terrible. There is No Pain Relief at all and furthermore I have been experiencing withdrawal symptoms like I have forgotten to take my medication despite taking it at the times I normally do each day. I have Chills, Restless Legs, Diarrhea, I can't sleep, and pain is out of control. I see now this KVK Tech has been Reprimanded by FDA as of February 2020 as they have found them to be totally out of compliance. Why has their Oxycodone not been recalled as of yet? I would seriously like to know what percentage of active ingredient is actually in these pills or if it is in fact a placebo. FDA needs to do more to protect patients against getting medication that is Not in Compliance with FDA Standards. I am stuck with these placebo pills and cannot return to Pharmacy. It's unacceptable."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "This Xtampa is totally useless for pain management as it does not work. Rather I feel this drug was created to be big pharma's version of Kratum. In other words it was designed to dock in opioid receptors and stop withdrawal symptoms. But ineffective at removing pain. My personal experience was a pharmacist putting a bug into my doctors ear and recommending this instead of the oxycodone I am used to taking without any negative side effects. Sadly after taking Xtampza it interacted with some food and it gave me burning diarrhea for 2 days! Not to mention the high frequency hiss in my head that felt like my brain was in the frying pan! I had to call the doctor and explain the reaction and he put through my usual drug and afterwards I went back to my normal self. Now a month later I understand why the recommendation as it costs $800 a bottle and its no wonder I was put through this nightmare for no good reason."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "I have been dealing with chronic back, neck, hip, knee and both ankles pain for ten years now. I'm 48yrs I've always worked until my body broke down. If were not for the Oxycontin, I would be bedridden and in a wheelchair. When taken appropriately this is a miracle. "

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "Dose: 27mg, 2X per day; Hit-or-miss, minimal pain control; Side effects include IBS issues, dizziness, nausea, irritability, crying, elevated heart rate, hot flashes & insomnia. For the 1st time in 10 years my pain is NOT managed. Government & big business insurance companies are forcing patients to use an ineffective medication. The definition of "prejudice" & "discrimination." All CHRONIC pain patients complain to the US government, insurance companies & any legislators playing the role of "doctor,". Statements such as "all opioid patients/pain patients are abusing medication & 1-step away from heroin addiction," is SLANDEROUS & DISCRIMINATORY! Chronic pain patients aren't "addicted," they're "dependent" on the medicine for ADL. Contact your state chronic pain advocacy group and let's start taking back control of our lives!"

Roxicodone (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "FYI-as other sleuths such as myself have discovered: the CAMBER brand oxycodone (I get prescribed 15mg) are JUNK! For the last two months, this is ALL my mom and pop shoppe have had in stock allegedly and I’m telling you, they are BOGUS or FAKES. My doc has even written on my scripts DO NOT fill with CAMBER BRAND and the pharmacy still has, so I was stuck with them. Plus, sarcasm, it’s so easy to just transfer a CONTROLLED MED script to a NEW pharmacy-LOL- they’ll give you the junkie glare or straight up lie and say they don’t carry it. Lol. This whole nightmare has become such a blatant and laughable joke really. We (legit pain patients) are on to ALL of you playing this game with our lives. The jig is up."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "It is a real shame that the oxycontin ER has been reformulated. I started taking 40 mg 3 times a day 5 years ago after having to quit my job after 45 years of service and going on disability. It gave me so much relief that I was able to do things I was unable to do for a very long time. After the reformulation I went through real bad withdrawals because the medication was no longer as effective as it had been. I finally got through that and now I am struggling with all of the problems I had before I started taking it. I'm still taking it but I am suffering with severe fatigue and can barely get out of the bed in the morning and have very little energy. I can no longer work in my garden or walk my dogs & have to learn to live this way again!"

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "I was recently prescribed this medication and it has worked wonders for my pain. The only drawback is that many pharmacy's in my area aren't carrying it because of its negative press, and I felt like I was being treated like I was a drug addict at each pharmacy I went too. Oh well."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "Stay away from this drug!! I was prescribed 18 mg of Xtampza twice a day by my pain management doctor in hopes of it replacing a drug that my prescription insurance would no longer cover. The company that developed this drug did so during the Opioid Crisis to deter addicts from “getting high!” You can ingest this drug. It says so right on the instructions! Xtampza ER is hydrocodone/Percocet based and only lasts 3 to 4 hours at the most! It also destroys the stomach causing severe nausea and vomiting! Plus it is super expensive!! Save your money!! Trust me!! One of the worst Opioids out there for chronic pain patients!!"

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "Works miracles for Fibromyalgia. I don't ever want to experience the pain of a nerve attack without Oxycontin ever again. I'm 19, so I can't just stay home and suffer and lounge around. I have a life to live, and if it weren't for Oxycontin I wouldn't be able to perform simple every day tasks. I will say though it is much, much safer to stay with the lowest possible dose, which are the 10mg ones (I don't take generics so there are probably lower doses, I just don't know of them). If you use Oxycontin in moderation and as prescribed it is easy to control dependency. They also work great for Rheumatoid Arthritis. Hope this helps."

For Chronic Pain "RHODES OXYCODONE 30MG ARE A BUST!!! What is this rubbish?? I've been on pain meds for about 10 years, once before got rubbish brand Aurobindo oxycodone. I always make sure I don't get those but now RHODES brand is rubbish too!! I feel like my head is buzzing, feeling fuzzy, my ears are ringing and my tongue feels numb. Pain seems controlled so far but whatever fillers are in here are bad!! Now a second brand to avoid!! Hoping to make it through the month without any worse side effects. These are absolute garbage..does the FDA even pay attention to what these manufacturers are putting out there??? I took them a few months back didn't really have any issues that I recall. This time around I feel horrible!! I can't afford to miss work because I feel like rubbish so this junk I'm taking better get me through. Bottom line RHODES brand oxycodone is pure rubbish!! Avoid it at all costs"

For Chronic Pain "First, I would like to say I've actually read all the reviews, and I appreciate finding out what others are going through. And if this one is still standing or gets posted at all... Well, it would prove to me that we as Americans are not totally being controlled by 'the powers that be'! I've suffered with chronic pain for the past twenty-five years, my knee from a stagehand accident and the rest of my body from falling off a roof. Like a lot of you know, as we age, our bodies that have been put back together usually need another repair, and arthritis grabs hold, and it's all we can do to try to have some quality of life. Over the years, I have had various strengths of hydrocodone, oxycodone, from every company. Why is it when you try to add facts in a review, they stop you? All the drugs now, regardless of manufacture, are weaker. My opinion is those three-lettered government agencies that are politically motivated and the almighty buck. Call FDA; we deserve to know how many countries a pill."

Roxicodone (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I have to laugh when I read some of these comments . Why do I itch ? Because you are taken too much ! Listen I take 7 pills a day of oxycotin 80 mgs and 15 pills a day of roxy 30mgs because a doctor years ago decided it would be the best thing for me and it was the worst thing he ever did to me . I take over 210 80s a month and 450 30s that's is 660 pills a month yes one month ! I would tell anyone do not take these meds I am so addicted to these now and now with Obama and the DEA against them doctors are being told to take ppl off them well that's great now I deal with the withdrawal and it's terrible please please please if you really need the meds take them with caution they become so so addictive doesn't matter who you are"

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I was put on Xtampza about a year ago due to current pain meds not working as well and amount of acetaminophen I was taking. This was the 7th medication the doctor wanted, the other 6 were denied by insurance, unfortunately. I cannot cook when I 1st get up and am nauseous for several hours but have to force fatty food down and force it to stay down, sometimes gagging, just to take this medication that barely works. My Vicodin works better but the PA won't up the amount of those and cancel the Xtampza, she swears by it. I wish she was forced to try it for 1-2 days, see how worthless it is. That's the only way it won't be prescribed by that person again. It just doesn't work."

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "I'm a long-time sufferer of chronic pain, with degenerative arthritis in my back, herniated disc and bursitis and arthritis in my hips. I was on morphine ER and it wasn't working as good, I've been on the same dose for 5 years. Dr. suggested I try xtampza comparing it to Oxycontin which I had been on many years ago until my insurance would not cover it anymore. Well she could not have been more wrong. I have been on xtampza for 10 long-suffering days. And have made an appointment to be put back on my morphine ER. Because even though it did not take care of the pain thoroughly it is still better than the suffering I have had to endure taking xtampza. They need to throw this in the trash, do not waste your money ! It did not work even as good as my morphine did and on top of it I have had constant diarrhea since taking it and my stomach has been chewing at itself, or at least that's what it feels like."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "My doctor prescribed OxyContin after I'd been hit by an 18 wheeler, rolled down an embankment, and fractured my spine. I'd been taking high doses of acetaminophen for years and had liver damage from Halothane gas and then acetaminophen. He wanted me to take a single dose opioid so that I wasn't taking more acetaminophen. Taking OxyContin was incredible. For the first time in years my pain was under control. I took it for 3 years... Until the "guidelines" went into effect. I successfully weaned myself off with no help and without incident. However, I've been bedridden for over two years because I've now exhausted all other things that have been suggested. Injections quit working, I've been to PT numerous times, taken anti seizure meds, psychotropic meds, and now I've given up. Unfortunately, I'm back to high doses acetaminophen just to take a shower or sit up and chat for 1/2 hr. "

Xtampza ER (oxycodone) for Chronic Pain "There is a really good document all about Xtampza and how it works etc. and it is well worth the read. If you google "FDA ADVISORY COMMITTEE BRIEFING DOCUMENT Xtampza™ ER (EXTENDED-RELEASE OXYCODONE)" and you should find it I read ALL of the reviews and this relates to many. This does have a different bioavailability that Oxycontin and it is important to have a high fat high calorie HFHC diet to get the best result, not just food when taking. There is a lot of information but if you did not like the med it would possibly allow you to show your doctor why I am just on my first day and had strange dreams and a lot of restlessness Still it takes 2-3 days to reach steady state so I am not giving up. My last med, levorphanol pushed me into serotonin syndrome and I NEED something to work. Quitting it cold turkey was very unpleasant I am printing the whole document to read and take notes on. I hope it works and if you try it I hope it works for you. My pain got so bad at the doctor yesterday my BP shot up to 196/136 with a pulse of 131."

OxyContin (oxycodone) for Pain "I suffer from degenerative disc disease. For years I was unable to live a normal functioning life. My Doc had me taking 4/10mg Norcos & 4/30mg Morphine pills daily. While they gave me some relief, I was still in a great deal of pain and felt like I was taking pills all the time. I spoke to my Doc about my continuing pain and the constant pill popping with minimal relief. She told me about Oxycontin. She said that she didn't normally prescribe it and only had one other patient on it but, I could try it to see if it gave me any better relief. I take 3/40mg Oxycontins daily now and the difference in my life is amazing. I hate the way people treat me when they learn that I am taking Oxy. It works wonders so get off our backs."
