Went to Dr with flu. Started Tamiflu. In two days, started noticing a rash, swelling in hands, arms, legs and feet. Could not sleep, though extremely tired. Weakness and dizziness was terrible.
Tuesday 2am chills, sweats, fever, horrible bodyaches, headache. Got in to see Dr on Wednesday 10am and tested positively for influenza. Took first dose of Tamiflu right after Dr's appointment and its now Friday 11am and I'm feeling different. I can actually get around the house no fever, sweats, chills, headache, etc. just still draggy and tired but still 2 days of medicine left. I will say definitely works!
Flu came on quickly on Saturday. Docs office was closed and I was sick all day Sunday and called first thing Monday morning and they got me in for an appointment. Fever was 102 with chills, headache, etc. I got the flu shot several months prior but it covered the wrong strain which is the one that hit me. Doc gave me prescription for Tamiflu which I started right away. I still stayed home from work Monday and Tuesday but felt better on Wednesday, still a bit sluggish though. Did this help shorten the duration? Not certain but I think it definitely did help.
Came home from college classes at 10:15 am got out of my car and felt the chills coming. Went upstairs to rest and figured that I'm sick. Called my doc and scheduled an appointment. He prescribed me Tamiflu and I thought, "Anything that makes this cruddy feeling go away is better than nothing." Took one when I got home at 4pm and one at 9pm. Woke up the next morning feeling way better than the day before. Fever went down, slight headache persisted. Otherwise, a champion of a medicine!
Most effective. Thought I had a cold from travel, but had high fever unusual for me [30 years since last time!] Unresponsive to Aspirin/Tylenol. Diagnosed with Influenza A. 2 Capsules & 18 hours later POOF, fever gone & 98.6.
Other Conditions persist: Chills with sweats, hazy feeling, equilibrium off, cough transitioning to yellow mucus.
Side effects: 30 hours since fever dropped, body temperature has remained 1-2 degrees below normal. Eyesight is impaired where I see better without my glasses far, but have trouble reading small print like medicine instructions with glasses. Continued ringing in my ears. Insomnia because I should be drop-dead tired.

I thought I was going to die from the flu. Had it for right around 48 hours when I was able to find one of those speed clinics that can get it for you. Felt 100% better within 24 hours. It's amazing.
Husband became suddenly violently ill on Friday. On Sunday, 4 year old daughter started running a fever that went away. On Monday, 4-year-old fever was back mid-afternoon, husband barely moving. 4-year-old had diarrhea as well. On Tuesday, 4-year-old tested positive for Type B, got liquid Tamiflu. Very sick Tuesday morning, took first dose that afternoon. Daughter vomited.
Wednesday daughter was obviously better, husband still horribly sick. Thursday, daughter is up and dancing. Still have diarrhea, but will take this over husband's version any day. Expensive though.
I was in bed, aches, chills, 102 fever, dizzy, all the good stuff that comes with the flu - just miserable. I tested positive for the flu and took my first dose that evening. Within a day and a half, I feel so much better. I still have some symptoms, but I don't feel like I'm knocking at death's door.

I started to develop classic flu symptoms at 3.00 pm Tuesday. I am looking after my husband who is receiving chemotherapy and radiation therapy for cancer, so it was vital that I get back on my feet ASAP. I visited the GP at 5.45pm Tuesday and had a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. I was prescribed Tamiflu and took the first dose at 6.30pm. I took a second dose at about midnight and by about 3.00 am the fever had gone as well as the terrible aches and pains. I have also been taking large doses of Cenovis brand Horseradish, Garlic and Vitamin C, and prescribed doses of paracetamol.
At midday on Day 2, still taking Tamiflu and feeling 90% normal, however I am still isolating myself as much as possible and disinfecting everything I touch!
This medication is pretty expensive but I believe it has helped shorten the duration of the flu. I started with symptoms on Sunday, tested positive with the flu on Monday and started Tamiflu that evening. Today is Wednesday and I feel a lot better - no fever either. I have experienced some nasty bathroom-related side effects but I'll take that over high fever, blistering headache, etc.

It was great. After two days I felt fine - I was groggy after the first dose, but then I was groggy before I took it so the grogginess could have just been the flu. The only drawback is Tamiflu is very expensive and my insurance didn't cover it.
I was given Tamiflu by the hospital, and at first, it seemed to work. I didn't have such a bad runny nose, or coughing. However, the side effects were just horrible. I had nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, headaches, and, as my friend describes it, I was "just not with it." I took it in pill form, and I think it was perhaps because of the plastic-feeling outer cover I was forced to swallow. I don't particularly recommend it, especially since it also gave me a little insomnia. That was a slight problem, having the flu and all, since sleeping is actually important if I want to heal.
It was three days before Christmas 2010 and my husband and I was out and about shopping in the Malls and stores for Christmas gifts. It just came on him really fast
ache, shakes and sweat, fever of 104.7 sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching everywhere, stuffy head. So bad that he was out for the count and we thought we would not get to go anywhere for Christmas. Well then to top it off my Son who is 14 got sick too.
So I was working taking care of them and you guessed it got sick too! We all went to the doctor and got Tamiflu and wow!!! Miracle medicine. Would love to Kiss the person who found this! We were coming out of it the first day we all took it. The Best 1-10 it a 100! Thanks so very much from not sick any more.
On the morning of my second pill of Tamiflu, I went to have my hair done. Hair salon used the same chemicals on me that they have been for over 8 years and had a severe skin reaction with the bleach, due to Tamiflu. I had purple hives all over my face, my lips were red and swollen, my upper torso was covered in a red burning rash and my scalp has burns and sores all over it. I contacted my urgent care facility who administered it to me and they said severe skin reaction is a side symptom. I stopped taking the Tamiflu at their advice.
I used Tamiflu for influenza, it made a world of difference. I was so sick that I could barely get out of bed to take care of myself or my toddler, who also had influenza. By day 2 on the medication, I felt about 80% better. Influenza is a much more serious virus than I ever thought. Thank goodness for antivirals.
I used this drug for suspected Swine Flu. It definitely works wonders but what I noticed was that it affected my brain in some ways. I am confused and less tolerant than I was before. I am hoping it is temporary.

Weigh your options. The medicine may work but the side effects may be worse. My son was vomiting often, had severe abdominal pain and had some difficulty breathing while taking this medicine.
