"I've been on Latuda for 5 weeks now first week 20 mg second week 40 mg the third week 80 mg the fourth week 120 mg 5th week 160 mg. Side effects of sedation, constipation. It has not started to uplift my mood I wonder how long will it take for it to motivate me. No increase in my appetite thank God."

"I've been on Latuda 6 months now for schizophrenia. I've had paranoia and persistent auditory hallucinations; this drug was a miracle for blasting them away. For the first 3 weeks, I was a sleepy wreak and didn't dare drive, but a lot of that went away over time. It took probably about 2-3 months for the hallucinations to finally go away, you could tell the volume on them were going down every day. I had moderate akathisia. This was on 40 mg of Latuda. After months of having no voices, I decided to try tapering off it to 30mg and noise hearing has started to creep in again (sob!), but my akathisia much went away and a felt a bit more alert. I'm debating staying on this at 30mg, I seem to also have a lot of demotivation and anhedonia since I started taking the drugs but they could just also be negative symptoms of psychosis. In sum, great for hallucinations, not that great for everything else."

"you can go insane if you get off this drug cold-turkey and if your drinking/drugs inbetween you will end up at the hospital like me, i stopped using for 3 months now, the last few days have been a nightmare I was smoking weed while not taking latuda, and I had a depressive breakdown where i ended up in emergency twice in the past 4 days, i was so fatigued my eyes were shutting on their own and i thought i was going to die if i fall asleep, its a feeling of insanity dont mess around with this drug. Go step by step as your doctor tells you, overall the drug has its ups and downs some of the side effects are dreadfull, goodluck"

"I’m quite young and started latuda after a nasty experience with abilify. This slightly helped but I soon stopped taking it after hearing about the side effects like high blood pressure and things such as. I was on 40mg and saw some improvements but ultimately the side effects outweighed the good it did."

"I struggle with weight gain on antipsychotics. Latuda hardly if at all affects my metabolism or hunger. I take only the starting dose because I also take Seroquel, which strangely also doesn't affect my weight. The one thing I love about Latuda is the lift of depression, the ability to laugh again. All my psychotic symptoms are alleviated. I get violently nauseous with Latuda. I have to take ondansetron when taking Latuda, or it would not be possible to take it. This extreme nausea has never resolved. But I really like Latuda. I do not have to take ondansetron all day and night, just when it comes to taking it. If my dose is increased, I can have an awful need to move my body like restless legs but all over. With other antipsychotics, I could not lose weight no matter what I did, but I can now with exercise and good food. I really like Latuda. Weight gain really bothers me, especially with a history of an eating disorder. So overall, this med is great, but especially because it hasn’t caused ridiculous weight gain."

"I had tried several other atypical antipsychotics to treat my schizophrenia over the last year, and most just made me tired and didn’t help with the hallucinations and delusions. It took about two and a half weeks at 20 mg, and this had gotten it about 90% under control. I rarely hear voices and have had only one delusion of persecution in that time. I may ask to go up a dose at my next appointment, but this has been such a relief after trying ability, lybalvi, invega (which worked before), and Caplyta (which worked for almost a month and failed terribly). Make sure you eat with it and be patient. No noticeable side effects at a little over a month yet."

"Despite taking this awful medication with food, it made me feel ill. If I took it, I’d feel sick. If I didn’t take it, I also felt sick. It made me extremely stupid and unmotivated. I felt terrible. I also have possible Tourette’s which was made worse by latuda. I’m having slight tremors still. Switched to Paliperidone/invega. Hoping for better luck…"

"I was prescribed this earlier this year, in July and I was only on it for a day. It helped my benzodiazepine withdrawal SOME but it immediately gave me insane akathisia where I felt extremely anxious in my legs and couldn’t sit still, everything was making me panic and cry and I felt sleepy as anything, almost nodded off several times while in public and even on my date with my boyfriend and I threw up a few times. That was my first and last time taking it. Never again, wouldn’t recommend 0/10"

"I have taken Latuda for 4 months and I can say it's live changer. It helps me with my psychosis and it stops it in less than a month. I take the 37 mg dose every night. It helps me out to be more concentrated at work. I recently found myself very productive and happier. No side effects. Highly recommended."

"Was prescribed Latuda for PTSD symptoms. No notable symptoms except nipple discharge, after many excruciating testing, found prolactin levels had risen which caused breast cancer. Had double mastectomy in May 2017 along with chemotherapy and radiation."

"I’d rate this a 2/10. I took this from October 2016-April 2017 when I was 18 years old, 60mg twice a day for schizophrenia, anxiety and panic attacks. Although it made the paranoia and anxiety go away, it gave me INSANE akathisia where I would move around in my seat as if I had to pee really really bad, paced back and forth even though I couldn’t keep my eyes open, my arms felt restless and I had this unexplainable cold feeling inside my body. I stopped in March 2017 but to this day I still have tardive dyskinesia and I’m on a different medication now. This one sucked, smh"
