For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for 6 years and it seemed to stop helping with my hormonal acne over the years so my doctor prescribed me Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. Only on the third pack now and my period has been normal and almost no cramps as well as helped with my acne but is making me absolutely crazy. I can’t sleep at night but I always feel exhausted, I don’t have any energy to do anything anymore, I have headaches, any minor inconvenience makes me cry. My anxiety is through the roof and I feel paranoid all the time. I have never felt like this until I started taking this medication. It’s honestly a relief that other people have had these same symptoms and I’m not just crazy, definitely going back to my gyn to get off of this after this pack."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo since February with a 3 month break in the summer. I actually experienced very low appetite, when I'm at the end of my sugar pills I'm starving put the rest of the month I never feel hungry so I think the pill has helped me lose weight. As for Acne no real difference, I'm still struggling with acne but over the last year being on or off the pill hasn't made a difference. I haven't ever been nauseous or sick at all, but I do take it at 7pm. The biggest side-effect I've noticed is low, low sex drive. Absolutely no interest in it at all. And very low energy. I plan on going off the pill to see if it's causing this side effect."

For Birth Control "I have taken this pill for 8 years. I am 23, 5'1 110lbs. Have never experienced weight gain, and never had a pregnancy scare. I have always had clear skin and it stayed that way throughout the pill. I missed a couple pills last month and had spotting for a couple weeks. But I swear by this pill! Although, once in a while it did cause slight nausea and usually always low sex drive, as most others have agreed. Other than that I think it's a great form of medication."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control for 6 years. I went on it because my period were painful and made me very sick two days out of the month. I was on a generic brand of ortho tri cyclen and when insurance started to cover the name brand completely I switch to ortho tri cyclen. During the first couple years on birth control my period were much better and predictable but I would feel nauseous when I started taking my pill again after my period. Once my body got used to being on the pill the nausea stopped. Spring 2015, after being on ortho tri cyclen my insurance out of the blue stopped covering it and that is when I switched to ortho tri cyclen lo. This is the best BC I have been on. I haven't gained weight and the only side effect is headaches."

For Birth Control "I absolutely LOVE this pill. I'm 22 now, but I started it back in May of 2006 and stopped in March of 2007 (due to me not being sexually active anymore). During this time I had absolutely no side effects. I did gain a bit of weight, but I attribute that to me being lazy and starting college without exercising regularly. Flash forward a few years, I decided to start taking it again. I'm on week 3 and like before, I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I'm exercising better than I have before and have been losing weight successfully. All women have different bodies, so what may work for some may not be effective for others."

For Birth Control "I was on this birth control for over a year. It worked great for me. No pregnancy, regulated my period and clear up my acne. Only down side I gain 15 pounds even after eating healthy and exercising 5 times a week. I got off it 6 months ago to see if the weight gain was because of the pill and sure enough it was. I've lost all the weight I've gained, but it took some times and effort. It's a great product, just don't like the weight gain."

For Birth Control "Been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo 28 day for 1.5 years & it’s been great! Not a single pregnancy scare, decreased cramps, no nausea, barely any mood swings, overall excellent! HOWEVER, just recently got switched to the GENERIC version, Tricira lo, which was fine for the first 3 months, but as of a month ago, I’ve been recently having terrible brand new symptoms! Never missed a pill and take it at generally the same time every night like I always have! A month ago I started having terrible cramps and got my period a week early (during the active pills) which lasted for two weeks! I have had various panic attacks and find my anxiety to be 10x worse than it was before, not to mention I’ve been feeling nothing like myself lately! Extremely sensitive, crying all the time, very short tempered. A month later, I get my period today, once again during my ACTIVE pills, already accompanied by terrible cramps! Terrible! 7 stars because the real brand generic version is good! BUT THE GENERIC I S rubbish!"

For Birth Control "Out of both birth controls I've tried, (the other being Sprintec) this is my favorite. Although my period still hasn't regulated on it (either 2 weeks late or 2 weeks early) but I guess it's a lot better than bleeding every other week. Being a huge hypochondriac, that's of course the only downfall with this pill. Other than that, I have the same sex drive, I still don't PMS, my acne has gotten better and this is far more accessible than any other birth control here. Side note: although it may have cleared my acne, I believe it may have triggered the psoriasis that appeared on my face. If you have skin problems, be cautious"

For Birth Control "I loved this pill! Was on it for 14 years. I never gained weight from it or had mood swings, my period was always light and predictable. I went off the the pill completely 9 months ago because I am married and 30 ... but I have decided that I want to enjoy some years with my husband and don't want to use condoms or worry about becoming pregnant. Dr. apt booked later this month to get back on this pill. While I was off the pill I have been having headaches, insane pms, cramps, my skin has become oily, and my boobs have decreased in size :-(. Hoping when I'm back on the pill this will subside again"

For Birth Control "I used Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 4 years with NO side effects or problems whatsoever. I loved this pill. In my 5th year, however, I had MONO (my doctors think, it was never actually diagnosed) which made my liver function decrease and after months of nausea, fatigue, abdominal pain, CT scans, endoscopies, etc. found that stopping the pill made the symptoms go away. My doctor's diagnosis is that for some reason when I had mono it affected my body enough that I couldn't tolerate oral contraception anymore. I'm really upset as I loved this pill and haven't had any luck with other contraceptive methods. "

For Birth Control "I'm 19 yrs old going on 20 soon. I've been using Tri-Cyclen Lo for 3 months now and I must say that this is the best birth control pill out there! I've tried Diane before and I was nauseous every morning and I had to stop it before I could even finish a week. With Tri-Cyclen Lo I have not had any bad side effects, except an increase in breast size (Happy me!) I wasn't nauseous from it, didn't gain any weight, not much difference with my pimples, and most of all I haven't changed as an individual; no mood swings or change of personality. I'm more than happy with this! "

For Birth Control "This was the first and most amazing birth control I have taken. My breasts went from a large B, almost C to a solid D cup and I was slightly more emotional, but all of that went away after a few weeks. My skin was flawless and my hair felt healthier and thicker and even my eyelashes were thicker. My sex drive seemed to increase and to be very honest, I no longer had any use for lubricant other than what my body produced. However, after about a year and a half, a horrible smell started and my periods were mostly just intense discharge and sometimes it would last for a couple weeks. I wish that hadn't happened, because now all the birth controls I've tried have been horrible to my body. I wish I could go back to it!"

For Birth Control "The pill helps regulate my period and I know when to always expect it. I do not get any mood swings or nausea. I started going on the pill because my period was irregular. I would get my period twice in one month with excruciating pain. Once I began the pill the pain stopped and my period is normal."

For Birth Control "My sex drive completely disappeared and it caused me as well as my husband much distress and depression. Two weeks after stopping the medication, my sex drive came back with a vengeance. So happy I decided to stop taking this pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control going on 5 years this May and about 2-3 years ago I noticed that I have been discharging severely (yellowish liquid) almost everyday. Does anybody else experience this while on this BC? Also the mood swings are terrible as well."

For Birth Control "Overall- one of the worst experiences of my life. First 5 months were fine; I never had PMS but do have cystic acne and this helped. But at month 6 I was switched to generic without realizing, and soon got migraines with auras right around ovulation, which I thought were strokes (extreme confusion, no memory, unable to speak, etc.) I also had EXTREME anxiety right before my period. To the point where no amount of xanax would help. High blood pressure and pulse. It was absolutely awful. Now I have 5cm ovarian cysts. Turns out migraines with aura on BC mean you're prone to stroke. I'm 24. I'd take painful cystic acne and risk of pregnancy over all these symptoms any day. Be careful ladies!!!"

For Birth Control "I absolutely loved this birth control. It was my first experience using hormonal birth control methods and it worked great for me. Had no cramping, bleeding, or weight gain. Some breast swelling and tenderness but nothing too severe. No moodiness or anything which was great. Had super light periods too. Only downside was price. Currently switching to Tri-Previfem because even with insurance it costs $60."

For Birth Control "I was beyond being in a dark place on this Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo pill, my face broke out like crazy. I’ve had nice skin forever, and taking this pill I thought would be nice because I’ve heard reviews of it being good for your skin. It didn’t really help with my cramps either, they still hurt (my pain is as bad as having to book off a week off of work, fainting, throwing up ect). I failed 4 classes because I was so depressed everyday. This pill might work for you, but I wanted to leave my review because to warn other girls that may experience this super dark, depressing, dark hole that this pill put me in so you can have an understanding where it’s coming from."

For Ovarian Cysts "LOVE this BCP. It's the *only* one I've tried that didn't make my hair fall out, didn't make me feel bloated, didn't make me swell, and didn't ruin my skin. My libido isn't dampened half as much as it was on other BCPs (it was non-existent on other BCPs). It helps immensely with PCOS symptoms. At first it made me a little tired, but by the middle of week 2 I was fine. :) Love it. My insurance charged me $ for this drug, but that's against the ACA- there's no generic for this drug, and it was RX'd as medically necessary so it should have been covered at $0 copay. The issue is currently being investigated."

For Birth Control "I started ortho tri cyclen lo 4 months ago. The first month wasn't that great I got my period twice and had severe cramping. The second month I only got my got my period once during the placebo pills. Since I was 14 I started to break out and all the way to high school and college it still continued. Even after multiple dermatologist visits, laser treatments, Antibiotics nothing ever helped. I decided to give this a try and to be honest my acne has vanished about 100% of it. The first 2 months I still would break out but I noticed month 3 my skin was clearing drastically and by month 4 (in which I am now going into month 5) my skin seems flawless. I will get a breakout every once in a while but overall it has helped !!!"

For Birth Control "This is my first experience with birth control and I've only been on it about two months but I hate it. The pills make me crazy emotional; I've been crying over absolutely nothing and I get paranoid about every little thing. Don't get me wrong, I love not having to worry about pregnancy as much but I just feel depressed and not like myself at all. The good sides to this pill are that it makes my period very light with hardly any cramps and it also has cleared up my acne a bit but not completely."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for a two months now & have experienced almost zero bad side effects. I have lost my appetite most of the time, which has resulted in me losing a little weight, which can be considered a negative or a positive. I have been getting angry very easily since I've been on this medicine but I've always had issues with my anger so it isn't a huge difference. My skin has actually cleared up and I do have sex with my boyfriend without condoms sometimes and we have not gotten pregnant or had any pregnancy scares. I would recommend this even though everyone reacts to birth control differently!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for 6 months now and highly considering going off of birth control completely. This pill makes me nauseous, my breasts are always tender and if I'm not crying, I'm in a screaming fit of rage (my poor husband). It does regulate your cycles. My period usually lasted 9 days and now it only lasts 3 or 4. But I'd take 9 days periods over feeling like this any day."

For Birth Control "GREAT! I have been on this pill since I was 17. I am now almost 22 and no complaints. I originally got on it to regulate my period which it did, and shortened and lightened it too! Less acne. No weight gain. No pregnancies. With my insurance, it is free too!"

For Birth Control "This Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo birth control really helped. I had horrible acne and oily skin. It made me gain a little weight but that is okay considering I'm very thin. I struggle with extreme depression, anger, and anxiety, and this pill only made it worse. However, I was used to it already and was able to control it. It controlled my skin and prevented pregnancy however so I love it. I just went to the pharmacy and got this new pill Tri Lo Sprintec and after reading NOT A SINGLE GOOD review, I can say I'm scared for my life to take this lmao. Apparently it causes horrible acne mood swings cramps. And I already get all of those things. I'll take this for a month then update."
