Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: This pill is great for preventing pregnancy, that's it. The side effects that come with it are terrible. This pill made me turn into a different person. I would cry for no reason, I became overly sensitive, get mad for no reason, and had a constant bad, depressed, helpless feeling. If someone said something mean, even in a joking manner it felt like the end of the world, when it should be something to be shrugged off. I took this pill for 4 years and the thing that made me realize the pill was the cause of the problem was that I missed 3 in a row and I felt amazing, like a normal person again. I am now switching methods and feel way better.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: It took about 3 months for my body to adapt to the pills, but after that it worked really well for me. It lightened my periods, made them 3 days shorter and they always came on time. After the first 3 months I might have had spotting once over the rest of the year.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I used this specifically as a contraceptive. At the beginning of every cycle (the first couple white pills) I would wake up in the middle of the night with nausea. This would then lead to a couple hours of throwing up. I also had severe headaches, mood swings, no sex drive, and I was bloated.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 7 years and it has worked very well for me. No pregnancies, even if I missed pills every once in a while. I've gained some weight, but not much, and have had very predictable, short periods (3.5 days). I also have not had problems with mood swings. Sadly, I can no longer take this pill because my insurance no longer covers it. I am going to try the Nuvaring next, which I am very nervous about because I'm not sure how it will affect me. Wish me luck!
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for one month. I had bad PMS this month and started me period a week early. I still have four pills to finish. No other side effects.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been on Ortho TriCyclen Lo for approximately 15 years, I'm not sure exactly when I started since its been that long. The first 5 or so years were great, I had regular periods, light-moderate bleeding, less acne and cramps but after that I've had less sex drive, regular adult acne, steady weight gain with the inability to lose easily (even tried weight-watchers with no effect), mood swings and slight depression. Other factors may have come into play with school, work and relationships but I'm now married and the side-effects are more noticeable since the other factors have leveled out. I'm trying something else mainly due to weight gain, mood swings and cost - I'm in Arizona - OTCL is now $88 a month.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): This was my very first birth control pill that I've tried. Great pill at first. Cleared my skin only gained 5lbs in the 1 yr I was on it. However after the 7th month I started experiencing hair loss! I was known for my thick full beautiful long black hair, so this was very important to me. I continued to take the pill thinking the hair loss would eventually stop, but it only got worse. My hair would come off in chunks and I hated brushing it because it would pull out even more hair. My friends and family started noticing my hair loss. I stopped taking the pill immediately when a pharmacist told me it may be the pill. I've been off of the pill for 3 months haven't gained my hair back but at least it has stopped falling out!
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I started taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo almost a year ago and all it has done is make me crazy. The first couple of months I felt nauseous and lightheaded. It didn't help with my period if possible it made it worse. My mood went up and down all the time. I felt anxious and worried all the time and it made me feel crazy. I recently changed it and I regret not changing it sooner.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: This is my second time on Ortho Lo and I have to say I am unimpressed again. I gave it a 5 as it does protect from pregnancy well, but that's it. This pill makes me feel crazy, have racing anxious thoughts, worrying about lots of things including death, like crying or punching someone in the face, and very tired. My face breaks out painfully. My breasts are so sore I can barely move. My periods are heavier and more painful. Also, my hair is thinner and comes out in clumps. To whoever wrote they had that happen and heard going off it makes it worse: go off it! I was on this for a year, and when I went off it, my hair grew back in and the thinning spots went away. Coming back on it, I already feel my hair thinning.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I`m on my third month of this pill. I love it. The first month I was feeling sharp cramps and my breast were really tender, but after I started my second pack, they started to lessen! My periods have been very easy and NO cramps at all like I used to have before I started the pill. I can honestly say that my periods have been wonderful. I have no acne problems, my skin is very clear and the most important thing I have not been pregnant.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I went on for acne, and I'm not really sure if it ultimately helped with that since I began Accutane a few months later. However, I didn't notice any changes in my mood, weight gain, cramping. I had irregular periods before, so it was nice to finally have them on a schedule. On Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo, my periods lasted for approximately 6 days but after the first 2-3 days it was light. I ultimately decided to stop because I think it may be affecting my sex life.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for about 5 years and switched to Loestrin (because of insurance purposes). As soon as I switched I got horrible acne. Although Loestrin gave me lighter periods, I was crazy, moody, and overall a terrible cranky person- haha. I gave it about 6 months to see if it would get better- it didn't, so I'm spending $75 a month for Ortho Tri-cyclen Lo again. Totally worth it.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: PROS: For me, this pill caused no weight gain. It really did help with cramps, too.
CONS: This pill caused me to break out horribly (my acne was solely concentrated to my forehead before, and even then, it was very mild). I had better skin when I was 15 (I'm 20 now). I'm having a variety of weird symptoms I have literally never had before going on this pill, such as constant dizziness/lightheadedness, fatigue, acid reflux, and rapid heartbeat (which I absolutely believe was caused by this birth control. Why else would a healthy 20 year old have these problems literally within the exact time frame of taking this pill?). Overall, not for me. I will keep searching for my ideal pill.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I absolutely LOVE this pill. I'm 22 now, but I started it back in May of 2006 and stopped in March of 2007 (due to me not being sexually active anymore). During this time I had absolutely no side effects. I did gain a bit of weight, but I attribute that to me being lazy and starting college without exercising regularly. Flash forward a few years, I decided to start taking it again. I'm on week 3 and like before, I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I'm exercising better than I have before and have been losing weight successfully.
All women have different bodies, so what may work for some may not be effective for others.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I've been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for about 5 years now. It's the first birth control pill that I went on, and I can say without any doubt, that it's the best. My period is so much lighter than from when I was not taking it, it only lasts for about 4-5 days, and I have no cramps or bleeding between periods. I have no side effects regarding a difference in my skin condition or weight, and it never upsets my stomach. I have been very satisfied with Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo and have nothing bad to say about it, it's great.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been on this birth control for over 2 years and I would have to say that it has its down falls and has its goods. I did get pregnant one time and that was from when I had missed some pills. I don't have any cramps like I used to before I started taking Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Endometriosis: Obviously, everyone's body has different chemistry and because of our genetic predispositions, diet, and environment, study samples of women may all react differently to a certain oral contraceptive. Personally, I found Ortho Tri Cylen Lo to be effective for the first two months, and then I experienced a horrid yeast infection, breakthrough bleeding, and abdominal pains. I took my pills at the same exact time every night with the same amount of water. My sex drive disappeared, and I felt terribly bloated. The absolute worst was my unstable mood. I was making snappy comments and feeling suicidal.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have PCOS and I had gone without a period for 10 months. My doctor put me on Loestrin. I was extremely moody and emotional, crying over everything and very depressed, plus I was spotting and bleeding almost constantly. Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo is the second pill my doctor prescribed, and I am beyond happy with it. I don't even notice that I'm taking it. There are no mood changes, I have lost a little bit of weight and it has even helped with my Rosacea. My periods are coming around the same time every month, which is wonderful because I am finally able to know when to expect it, something that I have never been able to do. The only complaint I have is bad cramps, but they only happen in the first couple of days.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Ovarian Cysts: I got on this pill to stop from getting ovarian cysts; while I don't think it completely solved this problem, I found this pill very helpful overall. I had very few side effects: no spotting, no nausea, no loss of hair, but I do still get cramping before my period. It shortened my period to about 5 days and it always comes when expected. I have tried two other types of pills, one being Yaz, and I came back to Ortho-Tricyclen Lo because of the fewer side effects. Its a great pill and I haven't had any problems with it. I've been on it for about 2 years.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I had been on the pill for about 1 year. The first 3 months were pretty bad, experienced nausea and stomach pains. In the following months my acne cleared, my period pains were less and periods were shorter. I feel I retain water and it shows I gained 10lbs. I was more moody and worried about things that made me feel crazy. I just recently decided to stop using the pill I want to get back to my normal self.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been using this pill since May of this year. It is also the first pill I've tried. It is a great pill, my monthly cycle is on time and the same week every month only downside its 6-7 days instead of 5-6 like I had before. It has prevented pregnancy for me, I did realize my boobs got a little bigger, my sex drive is the same as it was, no weight gain and there's bad cramping in the beginning of my cycle but then it goes away. Overall it's a great pill and it does do its job. I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about starting birth control.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I am almost 18 and I started taking this two months and a week ago. The first month was terrible. I had a period that lasted over two weeks (quite heavy), and the second month was almost as bad. The worst thing that is happening to me is that I am having hair loss. My once long thick hair is becoming thin and I can see my scalp in lots of places. I've read it is normal for the first 3-4 months, but I have also read that in some cases it didn't go away and going off the pill can worsen it. I have no idea what to do.
Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I started Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo 3 weeks ago, for regulating my periods, because I wouldn't get them for months at a time. It took care of that. It also cleared up my face. I've only gotten 1 pimple this month and it went away after 2 days! NO side effects at all. PMS is barely there: no cramps on Thursday (I should get my period on Sunday), only one mild mood swing. I've been a lot happier too. My dad and I barely fight anymore because the pill calms me down.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate): I have been on this form of birth control for about 5 months now, and so far so good. It has cleared up my skin completely, and has made my periods shorter. Although I have experienced headaches and dizziness. I have yet to gain any weight, or experience any other bad side effect. I would recommend this birth control if you are wanting to clear up your skin and not get pregnant.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo (ethinyl estradiol / norgestimate) for Birth Control: I have been on the pill for two years. I must admit that things did start off a little rocky with the nausea, but it did begin to get better because I started taking the pill before bed. It has prevented pregnancy, helped me keep clear skin, and lightened my periods and lessen my cramps. Besides the nausea the pill is very effective and a good choice.
