Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I started birth control for the 1st time a little over a month ago, and my doctor prescribed Lutera. So far, it's been a great pill for a 1st-time user. I was a little moody for the 1st week or 2 that I started taking the pill, but I'm also being treated for depression so I don't know that I can attribute my mood swings to anything in particular. My mood is definitely back to normal now, either way. The only lasting symptom I've noticed is a little tenderness/swelling in my breasts, which really doesn't bother me very much.
All-in-all, I recommend Lutera for 1st-time users because I think low dose birth control is a great way to start. Also, I set my cell phone alarm to remind me to take it each day, and that really helps me remember!

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I'm a first time user of Lutera and never took any type of birth control in my life, so far I'm on the 4th week of using it and experienced terrible migraine/headache for 2 days which made me skip a pill. I managed to get back on track but have not had any other side effects. I'm really just taking it to help my hair grow, it has grown by a couple of inches. Yes! I have fuller breasts and nice facial skin as well. I have also been able to maintain a well-shaped body with daily exercise (no hunger attacks).

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: This pill is amazing. It is what I always wanted. I have been on it for only about a month and I have already noticed rapid weight loss, my breasts have gotten bigger (b cup to c cup) my acne cleared up and I actually seem much happier. I haven't had any spotting, tenderness, or mood swings but I hear some people get those. I most definitely stick with this pill and I recommend it to anyone. It's truly AMAZING.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I was on Lutera for 2 years until I switched 3 months ago to Aviane. I stopped taking Lutera because my pharmacy no longer carried it. I am going to find a pharmacy that does carry it. Every so often I would spot between periods on Lutera, but now that I've experienced the mood swings of Aviane I don't mind a little spotting. I would recommend Lutera.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: This is my 3rd month on Lutera. I took the pill to have better periods as well as for safer sex. Before the pill my periods were horrible to the point where I would almost faint. I would vomit and be out of commission due to terrible cramps. HOWEVER Lutera made all of that go away. My periods last exactly 7 days and they're easier to deal with. My flow ranges from heavy to light but that's okay. MY HAIR GAINED LUSTER AND LENGTH and my breasts filled out (no complaining!).
However, I recommend setting a cellphone alarm. I didn't at first and I was a bit emotional coming off and on the pill. But that's only natural. THE BEST STARTER PILL.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have used this birth control for 6 months. There have been no side effects so far. Although I am 47 and have a bit of concern about taking birth control at my age, this medication seems to be okay.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I went to a different provider for my birth control, where they gave me Lutera instead of Aviane. I had been on Aviane for three years with no problems but they did not carry that brand and Lutera was its equivalent.
I was on Lutera for three months and each month, during my period, I would also get an AWFUL yeast infection.
After the third infection, I switched back to Aviane and did not get another yeast infection. The physician said it may have been caused by a "filler" in the Lutera pill.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I just want to first say, that to all those people who reviewed it and complained - I came to look at these reviews and freaked out for a month over nothing. I've never been on birth control, I'm on my second pack, and I've had great results. The first month I spotted after two weeks, but once I finished my period and started the second pack, I haven't had any spotting since. I haven't gained any weight and my skin has been flawless. My mood swings may have increased slightly, but overall I've been very very satisfied with this birth control and I hope it continues.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I started Lutera about 2 weeks ago, and the only side effects I have noticed is slight tenderness and swelling of my breasts (not really a problem) and occasional mood swings, (which are easy to control if your aware you are having mood swings). At first it was difficult remembering to take the pill, but I set an alarm on my cell to remind me. I set it for a time when I'm usually awake, and not busy. The pill however like any other birth control will cause slight weight gain, so it's wise to cut back on the amount of calories you consume while on this pill. It does not stop your period either, well at least not for me. My menstrual periods are much shorter, and somewhat lighter, but still there. Also, I've noticed occasional, slight cramping.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I had been on Ortho-Cyclen for 5 years and had no problems with mood swings. I switched to Lutera after I had my daughter because for some reason my periods were becoming irregular. Since I have been taking Lutera I have been an emotional wreck. I can't deal with normal life situations. I can't make a simple decision like what I'm going to have for dinner because I break down crying from the pressure. My poor fiance has been having to deal with it all. I am switching to another pill.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I started on Yaz and had to switch because of blood clots. My doctor then put me on Loestrin Fe and I got super depressed and emotional, so I was switched to Lutera. I have been on Lutera for the past year and I feel moody, but it is more controllable. Ever since I have changed to this birth control I have had a lot of infections from urinary tract infections to yeast infections to bacterial vaginosis. I have never had any of the above before this birth control. I have not changed my lifestyle at all and really believe its the birth control. I have had two friends who completely agreed with me when they were taking the birth control and I am rally surprised I did not read any reviews about this.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I used Lutera for just about 3-4 months, and loved it. No real side effects, switched to it from Ortho tri Lo. Didn't seem so hungry after I made the switch. After about 3-4 months I switched to Nuva Ring for ease of use. Just now starting the ring, and if it goes poorly I would happily go back to Lutera.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have been on this Birth Control pill for 2 years now. I have not had ANY trouble with it ever and really was happy with it. I've heard my girlfriends talking about their birth control pills and how they have horrible side effects with them. I have always been happy with this pill and would recommend it to anyone!

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have been on this for about a year now. It has been great for me. The first few months I was a bit moody, crying, and still I get slightly emotional but that's a woman for you. All in all it has been good only it's hard to remember to take the pills at the same time everyday. I recommend it if you have good memory.
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: My doctor prescribed me Lutera since I am new to birth control. One major thing is that you really need to set a reminder(on phone, alarm clock, anything) because it is pretty easy to forget about it. I've been on the pill for about 9 months, and pretty good. Small things include: weight change (decreased-also my change in diet I think), more acne then before I was on this pill, slim to non mood-swings, slight spotting between periods, and definitely lighter periods. I wouldn't say shorter but definitely lighter. Overall pretty good product for a first time user. Just make sure you set an alarm, also comes in a green sturdy pack so I guess you can find it if you put clothes or books over it and it's peaking out.
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: Hardly any side effects. Great generic for Alesse. Was having some endometriosis problems with NoraB and changed to Lutera...no problems any more.
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I've been taking this Birth control for almost 2 years. I tried Ortho Tricyclen-Lo and had horrible mood swings and cravings. I also tired 3 others. This has been my favorite and I'm very satisfied. I don't have any side effects. I'd definitely recommend it!
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I love Lutera. I've been using it for the past 6 or 7 months. The only problem I have with taking it is that I forget to take it. Since taking it my periods have been shorter and lighter and on time.
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding: Excess facial hair has always been a problem for me as well as abnormally heavy periods. For the first time in my life I don't have to worry about waking up with dark hairs sprouting out of my chin... three months ago, before taking this pill, I was plucking / waxing every day, and now my upper lip and chin hair has been reduced by 90%.
I am 30 years old.
Anyone else have this experience? OC's are not a common treatment for excess hair and I'm wondering why, because this has been a life changing experience for me. I don't think I am imagining things. I went from plucking at least once a day to a couple of times a week.
Thanks for reading.
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have taken Lutera for about a year now. Maybe more. I do like this pill because my periods are lighter than what would be natural for me. Also it doesn't seem to affect my moods at all. In fact I think I am more mentally sound on this pill than any other I have tried or even not taking birth control at all. HOWEVER, I have next to no sex drive. Maybe that's why it has worked so well. I gain a little water weight as well throughout the duration of my pill pack but lose it while on my period. My skin is pretty good too. I have tried Yaz and Microgestin (caused me to have heart palpitations daily and depression), and I HATED them. So I would recommend this pill.
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I've been taking Lutera for about 3-4 years now and overall it is great. I originally started with Yaz, which gave me awful side effects such as acne, depression, weight gain. Lutera is very low dose and works well for me. I have experienced a few minor side effects such as stomach pain and decreased sex drive but all in all I like it and don't want to change to another pill.
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I'm 17, so this applies more to teens.
I was on the DEPO shot. I had horrible effects, would tell anyone and everyone to stay away. So after my 9 month on it, I had a 2 month long period, incredible pains and mood swings, and it was all too much. I came off and went on Lutera. It's beeen 3 weeks. I put on about 5 pounds, but so far I've been working out and dropping it! The weight gain is fast and I'm finding it easy to get rid of! My moods are much more stable which is amazing because it really makes a difference if you are in a relationship. So far I would recommend it.
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I have been on Lutera for about seven months, and find it wonderful. I've tried a few other birth control pills, but this one has barely any side effects compared to the others. In fact, after the first couple of weeks (where I was nauseous quite a bit), the only side effect I notice is slightly fuller breasts. Not a bad thing, overall!
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: Lutera has been great. Keep in mind if you're switching, it takes several months for your body to get used to this lower dose hormone. After a few months, my sex drive came back and I lost 6 pounds. I love this pill. I had been on about 5 different regular dose pills before and they all made me so sick. I have no negative side effects. It does take a few months for your period to adjust, so be patient!
Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control: I just started taking it. I am on the last row of my first pack. I have been having a huge amount of brown or red discharge/blood. I have had headaches, nausea, breast tenderness, back acne, everything. I think it's because I'm taking a lower dose of it like levonorgestrel 0.1 mg and ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg so next time at the doctors I will get a high dose.
