Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been on Seasonnique for about 3 years now and I still have bleeding for like 2 weeks at a time. I have told my ob but she says it takes time but this is too long. I would rather have one a month than 2 weeks. It's crazy but everyone is different

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): When I first started LoSeasonique, I had light spotting within a week that only lasted four days. Now I have finished my first three packs and didn't get my period when taking the yellow pills. I am now 1 1/2 weeks into the next batch and still no spotting or anything! I Think I should get a preagnancy test just to be sure but If Im not preagnant Then this is the best Pill ever!!! So far I have not had any other side effects that many have had.

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I've been on Seasonique for almost 2 years now - it has drastically reduced my sex drive but I thought the convenience of the 4 periods per year was worth it. However, I am now on almost week 2 of my current period and having some serious issues with heavy bleeding - it may be my age (38) or other reasons but at this point, I'm ready to find other options.

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been taking Seasonique for 4 months now and I like it. I had A LOT of spotting the first three months but I'm hoping my body will adjust. Also, the first period I had was extremely heavy.

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been using Aviane since I was 16. I was originally put on Yaz, but it turned me hormonal and depressed! It also did not help my periods and cramps whatsoever. My OBGYN then decided to put me on Aviane, immediately I noticed a difference in my mood swings and my depression were gone, my periods become shorter, my boobs jumped up two cup sizes, I haven't gained any weight I've actually lost weight, and I did not have extremely bad cramps like before. I am now almost 19, but lately I have became extremely nauseous, tired, and noticing I am shedding a lot more hair whenever I shower. Other than that, I love Aviane for making my periods predictable, I can count to the exact day it will start, and decreasing my cramps.

Lybrel (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): Have been on Lybrel for 1 year now and get periods, breakthrough bleeding, spotting and cramps. I used to have a normal 28 day cycle and my period was 5 days, it was very regimented. Now I have periods randomly that last 7 to 10 days. I was hoping to stop my periods but this obviously does not work for me.

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been on this pill for a month and half now. I have experienced an increase in my eating, I have been getting dizzy for a few minutes, and a rash of whitish pimples on my chest and on my forearm that I have never had before. I haven't experienced any bleeding or any period at all which is good because my periods were pretty bad. I just hope these side effects go away.

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been using Seasonique for 2 years now and after the first year I have had no problems other than some spotting when I forget to take the pill on time. If you push through the first year of nausea, mood swings, and some dryness during sex, it mulls over and the pill really is great once your body is adjusted.

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I've been on this for about 10 months and have had no problems at all. Some breakthrough bleeding between periods but not frequent enough to bother me. After all going three months without a period is amazing. I have no complaints at all everything with my body is normal, no weight gain, I get some pimples when I have my period like I always have, no different if I'm on a pill or not. Just have a bit of vaginal dryness but not a big deal using lubrication is much better anyway.

Lybrel (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I love this medicine! I have never experienced break through bleeding and have been on it for a year and a half now. I had tried everything before this, generic birth control (made me emotionally crazy), the Nuvaring (could never remember to put it back in and it bothered him), Mirena (the wire bothered him) -- finally found this after all that and it's all about me -- NO PERIODS! NO CRAMPING. NO MESS. Life, normal... everyday.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I started birth control for the 1st time a little over a month ago, and my doctor prescribed Lutera. So far, it's been a great pill for a 1st-time user. I was a little moody for the 1st week or 2 that I started taking the pill, but I'm also being treated for depression so I don't know that I can attribute my mood swings to anything in particular. My mood is definitely back to normal now, either way. The only lasting symptom I've noticed is a little tenderness/swelling in my breasts, which really doesn't bother me very much. All-in-all, I recommend Lutera for 1st-time users because I think low dose birth control is a great way to start. Also, I set my cell phone alarm to remind me to take it each day, and that really helps me remember!

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): Well it worked to prevent pregnancy because there was no way I could have become pregnant when I couldn't even have sex since I basically had my period for a month! In addition I had the pleasure of getting severe cystic acne that I haven't been able to get under control. The cramps that accompanied my period were terrible. I'm going back on loestrin24.

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been taking Loseasonique for 3 and a half weeks now, and for the past 2 weeks or so have been experiencing what I think is spotting? I really hope this goes away soon because it defeats the purpose of taking this pill. I would rather get my period for 4 days like I usually do than to have "spotting" for 2 weeks. I Also have mild acne increase, along with some abnormal emotional sensitivity. I'm going to try to stick it out for another 2 weeks or so at least but I don't know how long I can handle the "spotting" , and I'm afraid of possible future side effects.

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I am just finished my 2nd week of pills, but had to go off from the medicine do to sudden severe panic attacks and hypertension. Just stopped taking them today and hoping the effects go away quickly!! Could have possibly been an allergic reaction. Also had bleeding for the entire 2 weeks so far.

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): By far the best birth control I've ever had. I tried 2 before and they didn't work for me. They made me gain weight and didn't even help with my period which is one of the major reasons why I got on birth control. When I first started this, it gave me major mood swings but after about 2 weeks it stopped. That was the only bad part. While on it for only 2 months I lost about 15 pounds and it helped so much with my periods. They are light, short, and I have barely any cramping. It's also cheap.

Levora (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): It does the job, obviously--I haven't been pregnant. But I have mood swings like I've never had before, I get anxious and/or depressed. Most despressingly, my sex drive has all but disappeared. Sex is uncomfortable, sometimes painful, and I seem incapable to naturally lubricate. I used to be able to have sex everyday if I wanted to and orgasm almost every time--not now.

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): This was my very first birth control that I ever had. I got it when I was 15 years old. At first I loved it because I went from having very irregular periods to having them right on time every month. However, by year two I was having panic attacks, mind-boggling depression, horrible break-outs, and titanic cramps. I switched to Yaz and all went well for a year. I am currently on Seasonique, which except for the slightly less sex drive, is AMAZING.

Seasonale (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I used Seasonale for about a year and a half. It worked very well. No spotting and it was nice to not have a period for three months at a time. Unfortunately it has to be taken at the same time everyday which is a pain for someone as absent minded as me. I handled this by setting the alarm on my cellphone to go off at the same time everyday. It was kinda bulky in my purse since it has three months worth of pills. My periods were about the same as before.

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I used Lutera for just about 3-4 months, and loved it. No real side effects, switched to it from Ortho tri Lo. Didn't seem so hungry after I made the switch. After about 3-4 months I switched to Nuva Ring for ease of use. Just now starting the ring, and if it goes poorly I would happily go back to Lutera.

Levora (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been on Levora for 2 months now. I was on Ortho-Cyclen prior and was switched due to changes in my daily medication regimen. About 1 week into starting the pack I noticed that I am ravenously hungry all the time. It is similar to when I was pregnant. I've also suffered from increased acne on my face. This could be from stress, but I've never had a problem until starting Levora. Probably the most distressing side effect I've experienced is a marked decrease in my libido. Suffice to say that I enjoyed my intimate moments prior to starting this medication. Now sexual encounters are uncomfortable (vaginal dryness) and few and far between. Complete change from where I was. The "big O" is harder to achieve, too.

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): This pill made me feel terrible! It caused me to break out everywhere, bloating, and migraines everyday I was on it! I have taken it for a week and my doctor advised me to switch mid-pack back to my old pill, Low-ogestrel which has worked the best for me.

Jolessa (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I've been on Jolessa for about 45 days now. My insurance wouldn't approve the original brand, which my RN mother-in-law says is better, but I've read about other women spotting on Seasonique too so its probably more personal experience. Light spotting at least every few days and I still got a period even after my first month which lasted about 10 days as opposed to my short, but very painful ones. On the plus side, I didn't even know the period was coming like I usually do: no severe cramps, mood swings, PMS, etc... On the down side, I have zero sex drive. But overall, I feel very "calm" with less anxiety. Not sure about weight gain, perhaps a few pounds but I'm making an extra effort to eat better and exercise.

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been on 3 different birth control pills in 3 years and I have to say Aviane is the best. The other two were Ortho and Loestrin and they were both horrible for me. I was moody, crying all the time, angry, always hungry, bad cramping and depressed. I asked to be put back on Aviane. It's been a week and I've noticed a dramatic difference. I'm so much more pleasant to be around, and I'm hardly ever hungry. The last time I was on Aviane I lost around 20 pounds in a year. Plus, no cramps!

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I just started Seasonique almost two months ago. For about the first five weeks, it was fine and I didn't have a period or spotting. Although, for the last three weeks I've been bleeding like a normal period. Also, ever since I started taking it, my libido is really low and I simply have no sex drive. My gyno says that the bleeding is just my body getting used to the new drug, but honestly, a three week period.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I've been on this for a month and after the first two days I had spotting occur and it hasn't stopped since. I never had this problem when I was off birth control and when I was on Seasonique, unfortunately it's quite costly.I've also been extremely tired and experienced depression while on this pill. I'm switching as soon as this month ends.

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been on Aviane for about a month or so now and I have really been happy with its results. I have been through 4 other brands of pills and on those I became so mean my husband and I were literally on the verge of divorce. I finally found Aviane through my OB/Gyn and it has 100% changed my mood and behavior. I have not experienced any side effects and would recommend this birth control to anyone who has a problem with hormone imbalance causing significant problems in their life.

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): Starting off with my condition before LoSeasonique... I had heavy periods, by the time I turned 20 my cramps were so bad that I had to rest a day and apply a heat pack. My skin was always breaking out and it was only worse in the summer. I went to my doctor and he offered me three options: herb supplements, hormone pills or BC pills. I chose the last one. I'm not sexually active but college worries me so I figured better be safe than sorry. After starting it, my skin was clearing up, my periods are still existing but are so light that I usually don't have to wear anything and my cramps are very mild. The only thing I recently experienced was 2 week period and some spotting, but as I said, it was very light. I'm glad I chose option three

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I just want to say I found this site very helpful. I had been on Alesse previously and switched to Aviane because it was so much cheaper. Since switching I have found that I am more fatigued, am losing an alarming amount of hair, and feel sick after I eat. This page helped me a lot because until now I was stressing out thinking that I was possibly pregnant (I have had lighter periods since I started 3 months ago, but that only added to the problem). I am still going to take a pregnancy test, but after reading this article I feel like I will be able to at least sleep tonight.

Jolessa (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I just started my second pack of Jolessa. I started using this birth control because I was having migraines every period, so hopefully I will only have period induced migraines every three months. I too experienced a lot of spotting during my end of 2nd-beginning of 3rd month, almost 3 weeks. And my period did have some pretty good cramps but only lasted three days. Overall, I am glad I no longer have the monthly periods or migraines.

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I was put on this pill to help out with my crazy emotions that I get about a week before my period. I almost done with my first 3 month dose and I have found that I have a big increase in my appetite. I have been experiencing more severe migrains and I get dizzy/lightheaded for a couple of minutes quite often. My skin has been breaking out with little pimples that are coverable but I can feel them and have never been there before. I have been on a variety of pills and this one has seemed to give me the most side effects. Since I have been on this pill I find myself getting extremely emotional about little things.

Lybrel (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been on Lybrel since it came out in 2007. I LOVE this pill! I used to get horrible cramps that got worse as I aged. My cramps were so bad that I would have to miss work. Since I've been on Lybrel, I've had very little spotting and no monthly cramps. Except for the 1 month I'm off the pills every year. I don't know what I would do without it!

Quasense (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have taken various pills for the past 20 years, I am 38. Quasense allows just 4 periods a year, which is a great thing. The periods I do get are normal length (for a pill-user, about 4 days) and slightly heavier than those I got with the regular monthly pills. I have slightly more cramping in the day before it starts than I did with the monthly pills (but still NOTHING like the agony of no pill-cramps which were a nightmare). Overall I love not having to deal with messy bleeding more than four times a year, and the slight increase in cramping for one day is more than worth it to me. Hope this helps!

All in all it has been good only it's hard to remember to take the pills at the same time everyday. I recommend it if you have good memory.

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I was on Seasonique for 2 years. Seasonique started out as an okay form of birth control. It took my body a while to get used to it (probably about 2 packs, so 6 months). When I did get used to it, it was great. But then the problems started. I've never had acne or even bad pimples and my face started to really break out. Also, I don't know if my body got immune to the birth contrl but after a while, my heavy periods came back as well as the cramps. Also if I ever forgot to take my pill and had to double up, I would get really sick. Overall, it started out great, but the effects were not long term. I've gained 15 pounds and my libido is very low and I'm very dry when having intercourse. Also, as mentioned earlier, it gave me very bad acne.

I do have a call into my doctor to see how much longer I need to have my period before I need to be concerned.

I was on YAZ and it caused spotting and weight gain, after a year they switched me to Portia and I lost all the weight and haven't spotted since; also my PMS is completely nonexistent now and the killer mood swings I experienced on YAZ are gone too. I can't stop raving about how great Portia is, it made me feel like myself again.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I use Alesse and it works in that I have not gotten pregnant and that it drastically lightens my periods. The bad thing is that ever since I started taking it 3 years ago I've been tired all of the time. Morning, noon and night! It's getting worse so I'm going to stop taking this pill. I want my life back.

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I was on Levora (brand) for several months before switching to Levlen (generic) due to my pharmacy being unable to stock the brand name drug. Over the last several months on Levlen I've noticed my moodiness increasing and my sex drive drastically decreasing. This happened once before when switching from brand to generic.

I've had no problems since I started this pill. My mood is even and my periods are fine. I'm glad I finally found one that works for me!

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I'm taking Loseasonique birth control pills...still on the first pack. I'm half way through the first pack that is for 3 months. Everything is normal for me but I've been bleeding lightly or should I say spotting for just about a month now. I have a week and a month before I finish with this pack. Just ready for the spotting to stop, but other than that I have no other problems or symptoms.

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I have been on Alesse for a long time, and it never works as it should. My period was unpredictable in the sense that even if my pack said my period wasn't due for a week, it could come any time. Sometimes it would come a week early, sometimes a week late. I did not get pregnant on this (but we do use condoms).

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): Aviane made be feel excessively fatigued, and I still got the migraines. However, I started feeling nauseous, which is extremely uncommon for me. I decided to try to stick it out for three months to see if my body would adjust, but after a month and a half, I started vomiting and having such terrible nausea that it interfered with my daily life. I decided to quit this pill midpack because it was having such awful effects on me (in addition to getting sick, my heart was racing and I was very OCD). Last night, a few hours after the first dose I missed, I started having stressed breathing like I was having a panic attack, and I had to lay completely still on a couch for hours waiting for the nausea to subside.

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): After about a week on this birth control I started to get awful acne and had to stop taking it after two weeks. According to my doctor, a side effect for some people is worsening complexion. It also made it very difficult to sleep and wake up in the morning. All of these side effects stopped a few days after I was taken off the pills.

Trivora (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I've been taking Trivora for a couple of years now. It's great except I have an EXTREMELY noticeable decrease in sex drive. There is a huge difference between the three weeks I'm taking active pills and the one week that I'm not. Then again... Maybe that's just me. Kind of a catch 22, isn't it? If I wanted my normal sex drive back, I'd have to go off of the pill.

No breakthrough bleeding, no spotting, no periods (unless I missed more than a pill, then I had some light spotting). I've had so many problems with other birth controls, ranging from Depo, to the patch, to the ring, to 13 different types of pills, and I finally found one that worked for me!

Trivora (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I've been taking this medication for two and a half years now- with no ill side effects other than slight decrease in sex drive. It has significantly reduced menstrual cramps, so ibuprofen is only needed occasionally. Light cramps occur a day or two before my period, followed by light to moderate cramps on the first day. No change in appetite, or increase in headaches. Most of all, it's effective.

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I feel that this contraceptive has both positive and negative effects. I'm a little disappointed my breasts have not grown at all since I've been on Aviane. My moods are slightly more moody, but my cramps and periods are painless. This is a lower level of birth control - meaning it won't make you gain weight or any other negative side effects others would cause.

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I've been taking seasonique for a month now, not for its usual purpose, but to help an ovarian cyst dissolve. So far it's just like most of the other birth control pills I've tried but I have noticed a few side effects. Nothing major, but still noticeable. I've had more breakouts but it's actually starting to clear up so I'm sure there were other factors causing that. My appetite has been stronger than usual ever since I began Seasonique. I try to keep it under control but I just get really weird cravings a lot. Lastly, I constantly have this cramp that feels like the ones you get a few days before you start your period. It's the kind where you can feel a dull ache in your lower back and lower pelvis area. It's not painful but I can still feel it.

I recently started taking it again two months ago and it works the same. Little side effects. What I love best is I have not gained any weight as I have before on other pills. So before you listen to anyone else do your research and try it out for yourself. Hope this helps someone.

Quasense (ethinyl estradiol/levonorgestrel): I was 18. I started with the brand name Seasonale for 6 months. Then I took Quasense for 1.5 yrs until I realized that playing with nature to get four periods per year was a big mistake. I slowly gained 10 lbs over the 2-yr period. When that "time of the month" approaches, I became very moody. When that supposed date of my period arrives, I became a total disaster. I was depressed, I hated everything and everyone evolving the world... No sex drive at 19!!!!
