For Birth Control "I was put on this birth control pill in preparation for IVF. I've been on other birth control brands in the past and have never had an experience like this! It's only been one week and I am MISERABLE. Incredibly depressed, emotional, fatigued and unmotivated. I've also noticed a huge appetite increase. In the beginning I was also super nauseous but that is fairly typical in my experience. I know that different pills have different effects on people and it takes a while to adjust but as I said, I've been on multiple brands and none has ever been this bad. All I want to do is sleep, eat, and cry. Good times."

For Birth Control "This is my 1st month taking the pill. I don't know why people are saying that their sex drive is gone. It has not affected me that way at all. The only problem for me is that it makes me have more discharge. After researching, the pill does this to make it harder for sperm to reach the uterus which is fine by me! I have cramps for about 2 days, and my periods are short. No weight gain at all, no bigger boobs either but it beats having babies! I also used to feel sick but I don't know if it's because of the pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for almost 10 years. It has cleared up my acne, made my periods lighter, and my breasts went from a size B to a size C. The only negative effect is that it may have made my eyes even drier than they already are. When I tried to stop using Apri, just to see how my body would react because I didn't want to be taking medicine for no reason, all my acne on my face came back and I even had acne on my chest and my back, which I had never had before. I am kind of afraid to ever stop taking it for that reason."

For Birth Control "This is the only birth control I have ever used and I have had absolutely NO negative side effects after being on it for more than 2 years. Pros of this prescription is it cleared up my acne and my period comes every 28 days without fail. "

For Birth Control "This pill sucks. I was always anxious but this actually made me depressed. Also I felt hungry every 5 mins and nauseous for the rest of the day. I always woke up dizzy, I broke out with acne. And I was always lightheaded and fatigued. Advice to people that don’t want to feel like rubbish never take this!!!!!!!! I’m warning all of you."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Apri for a little over a year now. My breasts have grown almost 2 full cup sizes but I have not gained weight anywhere else. So I'm ecstatic. No cramps, 5 day periods, no mood swings, not pregnant. I love this pill!"

For Birth Control "Let me tell you.. this Apri birth control pill has been something terrible. I was put on it because my hormones were messed up bad and sometimes I had a period that wouldn’t stop for a month then I didn’t have a period for like 3 months. So my obgyn put me on Apri. I also have PCOS. Anyway I have terrible headaches, my sight has gotten terrible, made my anxiety worse, no sex drive at all, & the worst thing I gained 40 pounds in like 6 months. This pill is straight the worst thing ever!"

For Birth Control "So I've seen a lot of bad reviews and I was kinda shocked. I used to take this some years back and because I didn't know how to get more or just too embarrassed to get more I stopped using it. My experience on it previously was really good I had no acne, no periods, no babies. My mood was always good a little more fiesty but I had more confidence. I lost weight probably 10 pounds I was a little too skinny. My sex drive was through the roof as well, which could be uncomfortable at times (I was single then). I went on different ones after that nuva ring gave me leg pains so I stopped it loestrin Fe I think. Those sucked so I went back to old faithful, my acne got really bad after I got off nuva ring and hadn't had acne since I was 17 "

For Birth Control "My doctor switched me to Apri because the birth control pill I was using before is no longer available. I’ve only been taking it for a little over 1 month, but I’ve already had 2 migraines. I’ve never had a migraine before!! Also, my face is COVERED in acne and I’ve gained 5 pounds. My self-confidence has never been so low. I’m very unhappy with Apri :("

For Birth Control "I have been on Apri previously and it was not available for refill at one point so they switched me to Cryselle. I lost all sex drive and was flat line. I am now back on Apri and feel amazing. My mood is better and my sex drive is back... so happy to be back on Apri this has really turned my life back around to where I was before."

For Birth Control "I like this Apri brith control pill a lot! I was quite surprised running across all these negative reviews. I understand everyone has a different experience with Apri, and is affected everyone differently. Personally, I’ve had no problems although it’s only been a few weeks of being on it. If anything, my mood swings (from when I was BC free) have gone down DRASTICALLY. I feel much more chilled out and content. No cramping, headaches, etc. but slight anxiety. I have noticed a little weight gain but this is something that isn’t that big of a problem for me or detrimental. I was initially taking depo which caused me to bleed everyday straight for 3 months (the same amount I normally would at the start of a period, except EVERYDAY) and suffered from cramps from time to time and nausea. My doctor switched me over to Apri and so far I have little to no complaints. My skin has been consistently clear and I don’t feel fatigued."

For Birth Control "I started taking Apri as a replacement for Seasonique. My sex drive is completely gone and my cramps are horrid. I'm not pregnant though, and its really cheap. My period is on time every month and very light but the negatives definitely outweigh the positives. Whats the point of being on birth control if I don't even want sex?"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control for 6 months now and as far as I'm concerned, it works well. I haven't gotten pregnant and I don't use condoms with my significant other. The first few months I may have had a little bit of nausea and bloating, but that's all gone now. My acne has pretty much stayed the same, but my periods are lighter and shorter. They are also very regular. As for changing my weight, I believe Apri has actually helped regulate my weight, so I haven't gained any pounds nor lost any while maintaining the same diet. Mood swings could probably be better, but that comes with all young female adults under stress anyway."

For Birth Control "I went on Apri after taking Tri-sprintec for 2.5 years. I have now been on Apri for about a year. Before taking Apri I struggled with breakthrough bleeding and VERY irregular periods. Now my period is so consistent and short. My period went from 6 days to 2-3 with no spotting. It was a life changer. Every person is different so do not take the super negative reviews seriously. APRI HAS CHANGED MY LIFE!! If you struggle with breakthrough bleeding, super long periods or irregular periods I 100% recommend this option. I get no acne, and my mood swings are no worse then they were normally LOL!! Good luck on your journey!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking Apri since I was 18 and I never had cramps or headaches during my period. Over the last year I have noticed such a change when taking this birth control. I have nausea and terrible migraines during my period that I cannot even do anything. Also, I get crazy hot flashes as well. I’m in my late 20s so I am guessing my hormones have changed and this pill just isn’t doing it anymore. I haven’t really ever had issues with the anxiety/depression like others have(thankfully), but I do notice a huge change in my mood when I am on my period and not taking this birth control. I think the fluctuation in hormones just messes me up for a few days. I would recommend for people, but like any medication you need to just be self aware of how it is making you feel."

For Birth Control "My experience with Apri has been great. I have been on it for about 5 years now. I do not get any of the side effects - no headaches, mood swings, weight gain, etc. I was recommended by 2 doctors to take 4 x 21 packs of Apri in a row, totaling to 3 months of birth control then stopping for a week to get my period. So this means that you only get your periods 4 times a year. This causes no health risks at all (unless you take it longer than 3 months in a row) and I have been doing this for 3 years with no side effects at all. I have spoken to 4 doctors about this and none of them disagreed with this method. I was told to try it and if it worked for me to definitely keep doing it. *May not be for everyone so please consult your doctor first*."

For Birth Control "Ever since being on Apri I have noticed a huge change in my mood swings, they're basically gone. I'm happy all the time and I didn't really get any side effects. My sexual drive has gone up and if any side effects have shown at all it would probably be that my boobs got a little bigger. This is the first pill I've been on and it's great!"

For Birth Control "Although Apri was very effective in doing its main job, preventing pregnancy, the side effects were very bad. I had perfectly clear skin prior to going on Apri, and about a month after starting I started having very severe break outs. I had noticeable mood swings that were not present before going on Apri. After being on Apri for 5 months, I have now switched to Sprintec which is a pill with a higher dose of estrogen. After being on Sprintec for a month I have noticed my skin clearing slightly and no crying spells before my period. Works better for me and would recommend it over Apri!"

For Birth Control "I do not take any other meds, just Apri. I don’t take vitamins, nothing. Let me tell you what has changed. I have been on Apri for 2 months. I gained 11 pounds the first month. Mainly my fault because I had cravings. I have broken out so bad on my forehead and sometimes on my chin. I thought it was due to stress because lately I have had EXTREME anxiety and depression. Never been so stressed in my life and I couldn’t figure out why I was stressed. I have no reason to be. I am terrified to go to work, I have missed so much work the past month and a half due to anxiety. I’m up all night stressing so I call in. Then I’m stressed about calling in so I shut down and sleep all day. I can’t get out of bed, I’m so depressed and I have no reason to be. I started doing research on why I would be depressed and saw that BC can cause it. So I will definitely be stopping this pill so I can go back to normal."

For Birth Control "This pill put me in pretty deep depression. I was extremely emotional and cried about everything all the time. I didn't gain weight, but it didn't really help with acne and it caused me to get my period about 2 times a month. I had to stop taking it because I was so sad all the time and couldn't stand it."

For Birth Control "I've posted here a few month ago and it's an update. I'm starting the 4th pack now, and almost everything I was complaining about went away! During the first few months I've gained around 10 lbs, my boobs became much larger (that was super uncomfortable, bc they're large anyways), I felt a little depressed and tired (nothing I couldn't handle though, I've been living my normal life). I couldn't work as hard as I wanted. Now I've lost all the weight I've gained and me is me again. Feels like magic. Also my tastes for food changed a bit. Something I loved does not taste good for me anymore, it's strange, but fun to experience."

For Birth Control "I decided to get birth control & was prescribed Apri. I was 21 at the time & it was my first time getting/going on birth control. Apri has given me no harsh side effects. In fact it cleared up my cystic acne, regulated my very irregular periods, and has helped to minimize the severe back pain I would get during periods. Although I didn’t gain any weight, Apri did make my breasts grow. Taken on time, everyday, Apri has proven to me to be a very good birth control."

For Birth Control "So, this is the only pill I've ever been on, so I don't have much to compare it too. However, after reading all the negative reviews, I felt I should chime in. I'm on my second month of this pill and I'm almost done with it. So far, it's actually helped regulate my weight which is awesome. The first month was kind of rough, I was spotty the entire pack. Once I started up the second pack, everything cleared up and I've been good since! Worst part of this pill: no sex drive. It really does dry you up. I'm hoping this clears up after the 3rd pack because my doctor told me to give it until then."
