Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed Flexeril 5 mg every 4-6 hours after having back surgery on my L5S1. It was prescribed along with hydrocodone. Absolutely no issues with it while I took it every day for a week. Now I only use it as needed for my back. I have had no hallucinations or foggy brain with it. I'll usually take it before bed if my back muscles are tense. It does what it is supposed to do and helps relax my muscles enough to go to sleep. This medication is not supposed to be used long term, every single day. I only use it once or twice every few months. It's also helpful to do some stretches with it to help loosen those strained muscles. It is also not supposed to be taken with Tramadol. If you're taking Tramadol with it, please stop. That is what is causing your hallucinations. Look up Tramadol, the reviews are awful. I was prescribed Tramadol a few months before my back surgery, and it did nothing for my pain. Tramadol is known to make people 'crazy'."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I had right shoulder, arm, and neck pain for 2 weeks - I had taken Norco at night so I could sleep, but the pain was too much, and I had no relief. My orthopedic doc prescribed Flexeril 5 mg. I took one at dinner, but 3 hours in, still no relief - took a pain med (Oxy), fell asleep a while later - next morning I woke up and no pain - first time in two weeks! Since the pain meds had no effect, I know the Flexeril did its job. I felt a little 'hungover,' but okay - next night I took it alone, and I had no side effects the next day."

For Fibromyalgia "I have many debilitating conditions and have tried almost everything. My sensitive stomach only tolerates certain meds, such as Tramadol and cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril). I take 5 mg early evening, sleep better than I have in years, and wake up the next day feeling better than I did before taking it. It's so nice to finally have some days where I do not wake up in debilitating pain after a night of tossing and turning! I do not notice any side effects except for constipation, but I have IBS-C anyway, so it's nothing new to me. If you have a lot of fibromyalgic or rheumatic pain, this is definitely worth a try. A little pill that does a lot!"

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Sciatica "I have been taking this medicine for almost a year and a half, it has caused me to have uncontrollable tremors, muscle spasms in my shoulders making them rise up, and I have had mental challenges, thinking this could be a neurological disease. I only took it at night, as soon as it wore off, all the nerves took off worse than when I wasn't on it. I stopped the medicine, and my body took 3 days to go back to normal. I made an appointment with the chiropractor 3 weeks later, and he could see the difference. The doctors don't always tell you the information you need. I have been in 3 car wrecks within 1 1/2 years, and none of the doctors caught what this medicine was doing to me. I was suffering in a lot of pain, all I could say is I'm better without Flexeril."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "My mom, who is 92 and has dementia, was prescribed Flexeril along with Tramadol for muscle pain. After 4 days of taking them, she woke up this morning totally confused and hallucinating. She had no idea where she was and was in tears. This forgetfulness was not her normal. The doctor prescribed Tramadol to be taken twice a day and the Flexeril 3 times. On the 1st day, she slept all day, and early evening sat with her head in her hand. When I'd ask how she was feeling, she looked at me dazed and said great, and then her head would drop back into her hand. The next day, I reduced the meds to once a day. She was still sleeping a lot, but this morning she was very confused and dazed! She is done with both meds. Dementia and these meds are NOT good!!!"

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I took this when I pulled a muscle in my back and could no longer pick up my infant daughter. I took it in the middle of the day, and it helped with the pain. Initially, it didn't make me sleepy, but the next morning, it was near impossible to wake up. It was that terrible 'hangover' feeling. It was the worst I've ever felt. I could hardly make myself wake up to get dressed and use the restroom. I lay around until almost 4 PM the next day just because of pure lack of energy. Luckily, I was only prescribed it for a week or so, otherwise, I'm sure I would have quit taking it because of the drowsiness aftereffect."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Temporomandibular Joint Disorder "After struggling with Temporomandibular Joint Disorder for years, seeing so many dentists and doctors, I have finally gotten it under control with Flexeril. My doctor finally diagnosed it as muscle spasms and tension from my anxiety disorder. I take Buspar also, and the combination has been a miracle cure for me. I no longer need pain medicines stronger than OTC. I feel so much better."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I took Flexeril because I had been feeling intense back muscle pain. I was told that it would make me sleepy and feel relaxed. I took it at 9:00 PM thinking it was going to kick in quickly! I was wrong, 15 minutes later, nothing! So I made dinner, went online, then out of nowhere my neck felt heavy, like I couldn't hold my head up, and I stumbled to my bed. I saw the clock, and it showed 11:00ish. I slept like a baby! Woke up feeling great the next day, well rested, and my back felt better."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I have severe neck pain and muscle knots in my neck. I've been told by my doctor these knots are essentially small bone spurs that protrude into the muscle tissue, which causes spasms. This is particularly bad when it's damp or rainy. I was prescribed 10 mg of Flexeril. Overall, I'd say it works great with very few side effects. The only issue is some days 10 mg doesn't seem to help very much. I have taken up to 15 mg (one-and-a-half) when the pain or knots are really bad. At the 10 mg dose, I do NOT have any problems with being sleepy and take it during the workday all the time with no sleepiness. If I take it with a pain medicine, it will make me drowsy. The sleepiness side effect seems to vary from person to person."

For Migraine "This cyclobenzaprine is the only thing that helps my headaches. I have the 10 mg tablets, and I was told to take a dose of ½ to 1 pill 3x a day as needed. If I take it before bed, I sleep like the dead and wake up groggy. I stay groggy all day. It seems to unfilter my mouth, and I tend to be grouchier than usual. Now that I've been on it for a few weeks, that has calmed down somewhat. The dry mouth is the worst of any medication I've had. One pill can dry me out more than 1 whole day."

For Muscle Spasm "I have been taking cyclobenzaprine for over 30 years (when I need it - not often). I have great results. I can't figure out why doctors prescribe pain medication three times a day. Many people can't function on that much dose: tramadol, hydrocodone. Many pain medications can work well once or twice a day. I wish doctors would prescribe pain medications once or twice a day, then increase it if necessary. I never take pain medicine more than once a day and only in severe pain for short times. If you feel drugged up on your pain medications, try cutting it down and see if it still works (but always contact your doctor first before changing anything with your pain medications or any medications your doctor prescribes). I hope everybody likes my comment."

For Migraine "I had a terrible migraine and took 1/2 of a 5 mg. It worked great. Yes, it knocked me out for about 12 hrs, but that was a small price to pay in order to get rid of the pain. It just works differently for people. My boyfriend takes a 10 mg for back spasms, and he can barely tell he took one. He is a little under 200 lbs, and I'm about 140 lbs. I do not take this medication on a regular basis. Maybe twice a month, if that."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I took this for muscle pain and it physically worked well but left me feeling incredibly depressed and hopeless to the point I had to discontinue. Not taking in combination with any other meds that could cause this, so unfortunately think this didn't vibe with my chemistry even though the muscular relief and ability to sleep through the night was nice. I was only on 5mg."

I take Flexeril and in 20 minutes, it loosens up. With a combination of medicines and stretching, I am recovering."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I have taken Flexeril for over 6 years on and off. I use Flexeril for chronic pain due to a fall and a spinal birth abnormality. I cannot take most pain pills. I'm allergic to aspirin. I find that when the pain is so bad that I cannot sleep, Flexeril allows me a good night's sleep, in turn, I am less agitated, making me better able to cope with the pain on my own. It has been a lifesaver for me."

For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed this medication 9 months ago for muscle spasms I noticed it lowered my blood pressure. Recently I was given anti biotic for an abscessed tooth and I had a strong reaction to them they made me feel very anxious. I took my cyclobenzaprine with them 2x a day as prescribed ( usually I only take 1 at night) after 10 days when I was done the antibiotic round I stopped taking them and have been in heavy withdrawal ever since. It's a nightmare and at first I didn't even understand why I felt so badly. Went to the ER with blood pressure of 165/110. Plz be aware this is an addictive drug and everyone s body will respond differently. This is my 3rd day off and I'm still experiencing severe insomnia high blood pressure and extreme discomfort. Wish I had known thanks Good luck."

For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed this med for neck pain and muscle spasms. I don’t use it that often; and only for a few days, but when I need to reduce neck pain immediately, it is awesome. It can make you feel disconnected if your dose is too high. I split my 10 mg tablet into quarters and that will do the trick. I will take it before bed if the pain is so extreme that nothing else will work. Within 30 min, I am sleeping and have absolutely no pain throughout the night and the next day. Experiment with the dosage; I am over 200 pounds and 2.5 mg is plenty for me. It is very powerful; 10 mg will put me out for 15 hours, and the residual effects at this high dose are not good. Lower the dose, and you will see that this is a miracle drug."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I am a 39-year-old male and injured my back and neck about 7 years ago in a terrible car accident. I have had a spinal fusion C5, C6, C7 and a vertebroplasty T10, T11 and tried everything under the sun including opiates for the pain. For the last year, I have been managing my pain and muscle spasms with Flexeril once daily and massage therapy. The combination has been a lifesaver for me, literally. My life has completely changed, and I am now active and enjoying life again. I suggest you try Flexeril daily and get massage 2 to 4 times per month."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I have severe back spasms in my lower and mid back sections. This medication works, however I feel like a complete zombie when I wake up, I'm super tired for another day or two after a 15 milligram dose. Dry mouth is a huge factor for me, but staying hydrated is a great way to keep dry mouth at bay."

For Temporomandibular Joint Disorder "It has helped me so much. I wake up with locked jaw, and the nightguard doesn't do anything for me. It does make me sleepy, so I usually only take one at night when my jaw starts to hurt. Usually, after 3 nights of taking it, my pain and the locked jaw go away for months. No side effects. My TMJ is horrible, this has been the only relief I've had."

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "Took two ten mg tablets, then tried to sleep. Couldn't sleep because of legs and upper back spasming the same or worse, and then fell asleep three times for thirty minutes to an hour each time, only to wake up because of spasming and then discovering I had pooed myself a little each time. It gave me horrible diarrhea. I would rather be knocked out with a few firm punches to the face than to try this stuff again. I'm fairly certain it not only didn't help, but it made everything worse."

For Fibromyalgia "I have always experienced a 'bruising' type sensation when the least amount of pressure is applied to my fleshy areas, especially my legs and arms. I wrote this off as 'just weird me.' Additionally, I am extremely and overly tactile! One tiny invisible seam on the neck of a clothing tag can completely throw me over the edge until it's cut out, ripped out, or simply trashed! Same with sock seams... Sometimes every inch of my skin felt bruised (which was not uncommon). I did a simple Google search, and fibromyalgia popped up! Every symptom, including traumatic childhood causing dopamine receptors to 'warp,' was me. My psych put me on cyclobenzaprine 10 mg up to 2x a day. I take 1 at bedtime, and I am finally able to sleep!!!"

Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for Muscle Spasm "I've tried Flexeril twice in my life, once at least 6 years ago, and the last time was in December. I'd been on Carisoprodol (generic Soma) long term (about 20 years with only about a 9 month break). December 2016, my pain management doctor and practice decided to completely stop writing Carisoprodol/Soma prescriptions for all patients. The excuse was that studies have determined that Carisoprodol/Soma only work to relieve musculoskeletal pain for up to 21 days and then have zero effect on pain. After I picked up my Flexeril, I found out that it is not recommended for long term use either, as a matter of fact, it's recommended to not be used for more than 14 days before it becomes ineffective. But Flexeril didn't even touch me."

For Muscle Spasm "This stuff doesn't work for me, it just doesn't. I've had joint disease in my neck since I was 18. I'm always locking up. Flexeril just doesn't work for me. It never really has. It used to make me sleepy, But now it doesn't even do that. I get such bad spasms, the only relief I've ever gotten was the 1 month in my life my doctor prescribed me Soma. That was after I had surgery. Soma worked so much better than anything else I had ever tried. It felt amazing to move my body freely again. I just used it at night I would stretch and go to bed. After a month my doctor said he wouldn't prescribe it to me anymore and went back to flexaril. It obviously didn't work and I'm locked up again with no relief in sight. I just wish something worked. I feel hopeless."

For Muscle Spasm "(Pink Lemonade) I to have fibromyalgia and constantly in pain. My chest muscles always hurt and have body aches as well. I have 5mg Flexeril and 15mg. I can't take the 15 cause it keeps you drowsy. Even after 8 to 10 hours of sleep. I wish they had a cure for Fibromyalgia . Its hard living with this condition. Especially when you have high blood pressure and diabetes. I've also noticed the kind of care you get depends on your insurance. Private insurance fixes the problem, Medicaid prolongs by giving prescriptions. This is why you never older politicians , ever get sick. They have the funds for the best treatment. We have to settle. Everyone pray for one another cause this works is definitely divided."
