For Muscle Spasm "I was prescribed this medicine for my hip bursitis because I could not sleep on my sides. I took it at 10:30pm when I went to bed. I didn't wake up enough to get out of bed until about 3:30 PM. It is now almost 9:00 PM and I am still groggy and not able to function very well. I slept super sound, did a lot of dreaming that I remember. I slept super soundly, did not suffer with hip pain that hurt when I turned on my side. BUT I was unable to function wake up the entire next day. For me the drug is NOT something I believe is helpful."

For Migraine Prevention "I freak out about taking meds... but I suffer with tension headaches and nothing will ever phase them. I was prescribed 10mg of baclofen and just started to take half at night cause I was worried I wouldn't wake up... so far so good. No side effects and I woke up. After a couple more days of making sure no side effects I will take whole. "

For Alcohol Withdrawal "After 30 years of addictions, mainly alcohol, I am finally free. Baclofen changed my life completely. The best part for me is it seemed to switch off the complulsion for it, easily with no fight or sense of loss."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Baclofen is amazing for benzo withdrawal. It simply removes all the anxiety and depression that comes with any benzo withdrawals. You need to get to at least 30-60mg though. Baclofen should revolutionise the benzo withdrawal or recovery treatment. Ask your doctor for some and free yourself from this nasty disease. I just fear the withdrawals now from baclofen but I’ve heard they are nowhere near as severe as coming off benzos"

For Muscle Spasm "I have severe muscle spasms due to Multiple Sclerosis. I don't know where I would be without this medication. I will most likely have to go up a notch on my dosage very soon but it helps greatly so I don't care as long as it keeps helping me."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "I had been abusing alcohol for around 3 years when I landed myself in the hospital ED and the ED doctor prescribed me baclofen. I started on 40mg per day, and this was not enough as I relapsed several times. I am now on 150mg a day which is my perfect dose. I no longer crave alcohol like I used to, and my anxiety feels more under control. I have gone back to study and started to rebuild broken relationships. Baclofen has been my miracle drug!"

For Muscle Spasm "no side effects except mild drowsiness. I'm not impressed by how this drug is supposed to work on muscle spasms. I have been on it for week and half at 10 mg 3 times a day. I feel my spasms are almost a bad as prior to taking this Rx"

For Muscle Spasm "I was diagnosed with a muscular neurological disorder of unknown origin - SPS - with both my legs becoming stiff and my feet cramping a lot, with no control over lower bodily functions. I was given an Rx @ 20mg X 2 daily and was told to watch gastro for side effects. Didn't really have any problems there but the Rx worked at getting me ambulatory again. I tried to up it to 40mg X 2 daily but it made me sleepy and the Neuro told me better to take the 20 3 or 4 times a day rather than 40mg all at once. As with all Dx and Rx some collaboration with the doctor and experimentation by the Px is required to find the right Rx dosage for the symptoms. I am able to ride bike, walk and drive, get around, but no quick reflex activity."

For Muscle Spasm "I have been struggling with fibromyalgia for more than five years. Finally accepted my diagnoses almost 3 years ago. My doctor and I have been working together to establish a pain management program that works for me and still enables me to work and live a "normal" life. Baclofen is by far the best muscle relaxer I have used and true to my doctors recommendation, has the least side effects (dizziness, sedation, etc.). I am more than just pleased with this medicine. I am THRILLED because it helps to control the muscle spasms I cope with while allowing me to be an active participant in my life. After two years of taking it, I am taking 10mg four times a day."

For Muscle Spasm "I have extensive nerve damage in my spinal cord and was prescribed baclofen for spasms. It works great on the spasms however, I can take the prescribed dose and when I run out of vicodin then it causes me restless leg syndrome so be careful if you're also on opioids and run out. For cramps in the legs it is great though."

Lioresal (baclofen) for Migraine Prevention "I have been taking it for 90 days. The medication seems to have leveled off the severity and frequency of my migraines. I take several medications and along with this medication it seems to be really effective. The side effects are a lot better than taking opiates or anything that makes you dizzy and ineffective. I take Topiramate, Bupropion, Amitriptyline, Gabapentin. When a headache hits I take a Sumatriptan and let it dissolve in my mouth."

For Neuralgia "I have suffered with pain from lower back disk bulging for several years. The nerves being pinched send pain and extreme stiffness to my left hip all the way down my leg to the front of my shin. I am very active, and my job requires a good deal of physical work. Baclofen in combonation with Gabapentin has given me such relief without the side effects of opium class drugs. I urge you to speak to your doctor about these medications. They may help you with your pain. By the way I am 50 yrs old."

For Neuralgia "I have MS and have been taking Baclofen for a one of my symptoms for few years. I have an overactive and painful parotid gland that gets a lot worse depending on the atmospheric pressure. I was erroneously diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia and was prescribed Gabapentin. That put me in a fog. I switched neurologists when I moved and he put me on Baclofen for this symptom. I do not take this regularly but do take it if I feel the pain intensifying or if I know a storm front is approaching. Baclofen almost eliminates my pain. I can function as normal no matter what the weather. This medication has helped me maintain a normal lifestyle despite my MS."

For Migraine Prevention "An amazing drug for suppressing migraines. Sleep well, mind completely shuts off, though dreams are soooo real and a bit unsettling. Often a migraine will kick off but the meds hold it at 1% pain all day . I always take 10mg baclofen twice a day along with 2100 mg gabapentin. Dealing with fibromyalgia too and this drug combo helps with pain. The muscles get relaxed and enable less painful exercise. Another beneficial side effect is reducing hypertension and slowing pulse to 60 BPM. Suffered for 30 years with migraines ,up to 3 per week. Down to 2 per month now, which get aborted with sumatriptan."

For Muscle Spasm "Was given this medication post hysteroscopy when I suffered severe hip, knee and leg pain. Nothing touched it. Had major painkillers to no effect. Baclofen was a lifesaver. Also have fibromyalgia and the bonus is I can feel a massive difference with that now as well. Am a bit dizzy, hope it will pass in time cause the benefits are worth it! No other side effects at all."

For Temporomandibular Joint Disorder "I have moderate/severe TMJ and I get a lot of relief from Baclofen. It's not indicated as a treatment for TMJ but it works for it very well. The muscles in my face, and jaw area are very tight and the tightness causes jaw pain and tension type headaches. Previous to trying this Baclofen, I tried Cyclobenzaprine, Orphenadrine, Tizanidine, and they all seemed to achieve their "muscle relaxant" effects by making me tired. I take 20mg of Baclofen at bedtime, and It relaxes my muscles very well and helps me sleep. The muscles in my face become less tight and I do not grind my teeth as much and my jaw feels so much better. Also, the painful muscle spasm I suffer from are reduced. The drug improves my quality of life greatly. I recommend it."

For Muscle Spasm "I used baclofen for headaches due to injuries from a car accident. I was doing well on 10mg once a day. A month later my doctor bumped it up to 20mg 4 times a day!!! That caused dizziness. I also missed a day and oh boy!!!!!! Withdrawal was MISERABLE! It truely was the worst !!!!! Anxiety and heart palpitations throughout the night . Kept me up and couldn’t sleep, felt like I had to go to the ER. Felt like this for days even though I was taking it like normal (20mg 4 times a day). It did not help with sleep even when I didn’t have the withdrawal problems. Def would not recommend this drug if you don’t have severe muscle spasms !"

For Spasticity "I have Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RR MS). More than 10 yrs in. I take Baclofen 60-100 mgs/day to reduce involuntary "shaking" caused by neurological deterioration. I am SHOCKED doctors are prescribing Baclofen to some of these users like Garden bug, for a miner ACL tear and another person for fibromyalgia. 10 mg/day is like taking a single baby aspirin and your pain is psychosomatic. Baclofen is used to control CNS chronic incurable disease, IT IS NOT a PAIN medication. It DOES NOT reduce pain. It controls the nerves at the SOURCE; spinal cord and neurologically. It reduces severe muscle spasms only. If you have late RR MS or PR MS, it can be effective to continue mobility to a certain point."

For Muscle Spasm "After using 20 mg in evening...I was getting no relief from muscle spasms, so I spaced dose out to 20mg in afternoon and 20 mg at evening As I got sleepy and dozed off in my chair, I found myself waking, but not breathing, I would have to gasp for a large amount of air and wake up... This went on all evening This has never happened in my life before, I repeated this a few days later and same results OPEN MY EYES AND REALIZE I,M NOT BREATHING AND GASP FOR AS MUCH AIR AS I COULD TAKE.....VERY SCARY."

For Muscle Spasm "I personally will NEVER TAKE THIS RX AGAIN !!! I'd just gotten a Rx for a 30 days worth at a dose of 3 times a day. I took it one day & ended up in 2 different ER's & then I was admitted for 2 day's! !! All the tests I was put through, first of all, 4 out of 5 of them weren't too bad & one was a living nightmare. It came down to, that was the ONLY thing I'd had that was different. It's now a med. that I have to put on a severe allergic reaction to. So, thanks ever so much to the manufacturer of that med. for totally putting me through the worst experience"

For Muscle Twitching "I have all over arthritis and restless legs. Restless legs makes the pain of my arthritis in my hips and lower joints worse because of the need to move all the time. 10mg Baclofen and I sleep like a baby, it relieves my restless legs and feel refreshed when I wake up. Try not to take them all the time so that my body does not get used to the dose but in times of desperation and days of no sleep it is wonderful."
