Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Otitis Media "Had a brutal ear infection after getting my ears cleaned. First ear infection experienced as an adult and nothing was working to fix it. Was prescribed Augmentin after a week of severe pain and fever. Worked amazing. Pain and fever gone in 48 hrs and entire infection cleared in about 7 days. Didn’t experience any unusual bowel movements or diarrhea except on day one of use. Would recommend if looking to get rid of ear infection ASAP."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Bronchitis "Excellent antibiotic for bronchitis! I haven't been sick in over 1 year since full time retirement as a nurse manager; Spring hit early in Rhode Island, with its fluctuating temperatures & abounding viruses/bacteria and wham! Sickness W a nagging cough and productive sputum came with it. Augmentin for 7"days was prescribed by the NP. On day 4, and feeling much better"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection "This is one of the worst experience in my entire life. After taking Augmentin , I had diarrhea for a week, yeast infection, dry red rashes at the palm of my hands and inner thighs, hemorrhoids, exhaustion, blurry vision, increased heart rate which caused me not able to sleep. I WILL NEVER take Augmentin again, worst meds in the world."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Used it for a 2 year old for bronchitis and was very effective. Difference seen in 2 days. I used Orelox before that and it did not help at all. With any chest, sinus related infection Augmentin is the way to go."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "Was prescribed Augmentin for a sinus infection and my anxiety has been crazy (already diagnosed with anxiety and it seems to be worse). My throat felt worse before it got better I'm also having headaches, nausea, and loose bowels. I can't wait to be done!"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Urinary Tract Infection "I took this for my urinary tract infection, and although it cleared that up, one of the side effects of this medicine was diarrhea and thrush. I got both, but the thrush was the worst. I had to stop the course of antibiotics before I should have because of the severity of my thrush which I also passed on to my partner, oh joy. I stopped taking it now 4 days ago and I still have a mild dose of thrush even though I have taken 2 Canestan tablets and now a Pessary... fingers crossed this should be the end of it."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I had a stye that turned into cellulitis with extreme swelling, redness and pain. If you google the most extreme pics of periorbital cellulitis, I looked worse than those. My lower eyelid was so swollen that it was projected so far out that when I closed my eye, my inside tissue, the mucous membrane was completely exposed. It felt like my skin was ripping apart. I was prescribed 1000mg Augmentin and after the first tablet, I was about 25% better. After the second tablet, all pain was gone and it went down to looking like a normal stye again. This was in just 24 hours. By the end of day 3 you'd never know it happened. I've also been prescribed Augmentin for bronchitis and respiratory infections and it's quick and works great for those as well."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "I was prescribed this from the hospital for sinusitis. I’ve been on all types of antibiotics in my life and this stuff is HORRIBLE. Woke up this morning convinced I was dying. Anxiety, panic attacks, tarry stool, chest & back pain, side pain, chest tightness, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, pale, dizziness, headache. I could go on all. Stopped dosage and heading to PCP tomorrow to figure out what’s going on now."

For Sinusitis "Was given a 10 day supply of amoxicillin/clavulanate for my sinusitis and felt better from the first dose, but was farting up a storm causing my pug to stare at me, lol. I’ll take that against feeling like garbage any day! “Better the shame than the pain”, an ex used to say, lmao! Make sure you eat something and drink plenty of fluids like water, tea and low sugar Gatorade. A Probiotic is a good idea in general, whilst taking an antibiotic. FINISH the FULL prescription! Some of these comments are wild, lol...(don’t let them scare you if you haven’t taken the meds yet)."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection "This medicine is causing me serious neck, shoulder, and back pain. I took the first dose around 5:30-6pm and woke up the next morning so sore it’s unsafe to drive because it hurts so much to turn my head and check my blind spot. I am supposed to take 875-125 mg tabs (whatever that means) twice a day for 10 days. I’ve taken 11 of 20 and have had difficulty functioning and sleeping since. I can’t wait for it to be over!"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Kidney Infections "I was prescribed Augmentin for a severe double kidney infection. Although , I took a second dose way before I was due to have it, in fact about 2 hours after the first dose , due to the fact and my reasoning to get on top of this infection. The first dose was no problems I couldn't even tell that I had taken it . The second dose , within ten minutes I had the worst anxiety I have ever experienced as well as , a panic attack with heart palpitations, chest pain and tightness and the general feeling I was suddenly at the end of my life. I had the phone in one hand getting ready to call 911 with the reasoning to myself that I could have mere moments left to be able to even make the call and the other hand trying to keep my balance as I had Severe shaking and muscle twitching and the sense I had little control over my own body’s . Never again , I would rather take my chances against the double kidney infection ."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I had prostrate cancer, and a very bad kidney infection for over 4 years. The doctor had prescribed many different medications, but nothing worked for over 4 years. He finally prescribed Amoxicillin and Clavulanate, Within 6 hours 99% of the burning had disappeared, and I could finally sleep more than 1 hour at a time. Great medicine for me."

For Bacterial Infection "Do not take amoxicillin/clavulanate antibiotic EVER! Doctor prescribes me this antibiotic for a bacterial infection, which I did not have, the labs test came up virus later. I did not know that this amoxicillin/clavulanate is just another name for Augmentin because I took the latter years ago and spent one whole day in the bathroom vomiting and diarrhoea. Here we go, took this unknowingly and guess what, same reaction, started jetting out from both ends violently at the same time. And I only took one pill. I just do not know the effectiveness of this drug, because I can't damn keep this pill down in the stomach for more than 30 mins. Now I know I will never touch this stuff EVER AGAIN! Took amoxicillin many times never had that reaction, apart from minor stomach discomfort. NEVER AGAIN!"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "I had a sinus infection and was put on augmentin for a week. I suffered from horrific headaches. I wanted someone to just knock me out because I couldn't handle the horrible headaches all day and night. My taste was affected as well. Even water didn't taste good. My stomach also affected me and I did take a probiotic. I wouldn't take this medication ever again."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "3 hours after my first dose of Augmentin 875 I started vomiting in addition to diarrhea. I thought I had a stomach flu. I waited 5-6 days to restart the antibiotic. Well 3 hours after that dose guess where I was, in the bathroom vomiting again for several hours! I will NEVER take this medicine again!!! I've had Augmentin before but only experienced nausea. Not anymore! :("

For Bacterial Infection "I had a painful tooth which got infected and caused swelling of my right jaw within only 3 days. Doctor prescribed me this antibiotic amoxicillin/clavulanate, 875mg dose 2x to take for 10 days and go to a root canal on the 7th day. I have a phobia taking medications because of previous bad side effects. Since I have taken plain Amoxicillin many times without any major problems, gave this a go. Took one pill in the morning with my breakfast & 2 hours later got violently ill, throwing up until I couldn't, literally, the acid was burning my stomach and throat. Five mins later, started peeing from my butt for 30 mins, liquid diarrhoea, I was very weak and spent in bed. I only took one single pill. Doctor said it is an bad reaction, now have to figure out what to take bec I am allergic to most of the antibiotics and the tooth pain is on the next level."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Small Bowel Bacterial Overgrowth "I took Augmentin for a second episode of diverticulitis. The first time around (two years ago) I took Cipro and Flagyl which felt like a controlled forest burn of my intestines. Augmentin was MUCH easier to tolerate. I second those who’ve suggested taking it with probiotics. This makes all the difference. I took one or two probiotics about 2 hours before and also 2 hours after each dose. Definitely take it with a large snack or meal. Experienced only some mild indigestion about 30 minutes after taking it. My symptoms started improving around day 3 with continued improvement. For probiotics, I took a broad spectrum one with multiple strains plus a high powered version of Florastor. I was terrrified of taking Augmentin after reading all the reviews but dove in with the proper supports because there was no way I was going back to the Cipro combo. Good luck and I hope it works for you!"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Bronchitis "Hit with a sore throat, cough etc...thought it was a cold. I went back to work after limited activity for a weekend and taking Monday off. Two days later I was worse!!! Thinking it was the flu, I went to the Dr. after a night of heavy coughing, major phlegm from this coughing and cramping, unable to have a bowel movement, tried to vomit, (It was globs of only blood! I was taking severe strength cold/flu medicine (650 mg acetaminophen every 4 hours), which contributed to the constipation. I had no voice along with the sore throat and being very weak. The Dr. said I had Bronchitis and not the flu. (Temperature was 98.5 BP 117/82.) Prescribed Augmentin. I was alive again after 4 hours from taking this! 3 days into a 10 day regimen and I feel so much better. I Never had Bronchitis before. This is a great treatment! No side effects as of now."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Bronchitis "Went to urgent care for chronic bronchitis and doc gave me Biaxin which I told him it did not work in past...fever elevated two degrees in two days..went back he gave me doxycycline which eventually stopped the yellow mucus production for a few days then right back. I went to my own doctor this morning and she gave me Augmentin. Have an allergy to Avelox. After one dose I can tell this is working better than doxycycline did in two days so definitely recommend."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "Just to preface: I take Atenolol 25mg 1x/day, 5mg Lexapro 1x/day for blood pressure and mental health issues. I read the reviews and almost didn't take this Rx. Come on, people. There's no way this causes mental health issues. Take with 2 probiotic yogurts and an English muffin/banana and you should be fine. Crazy how so many people freak out over side effects. My goodness. I felt like someone hit my sinuses with a baseball bat so no Rx side effect could be worse than that. The reviews have led me to Lexapro and Atenolol but the feedback from everyone here is completely wrong. This is fine. No crazy dreams, I sleep fine. No panic attacks and I am prone to that. Calm down, everyone."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "After a couple of hours after taking an 875 mg tab, my stomach became rock hard. I had the most debilitating stomach cramps known to man. I've never vomited as much and as hard as I did that day. The diarrhea was like I was urinating out of my anus. After drinking a bottle of kiefer, I was good again"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "Was prescribed Augmentin 875/125 tab twice daily for 10 days for bacterial sinusitis. I am currently on day 8 now. I was a little iffy about this medication the first two days as it did upset my stomach and cause many trips to the restroom even using with food as directed. Day three I had a nasty headache and insomnia. But honestly, by day 4 I felt pretty good. Actually awoke without any congestion. Energy started returning. Day 5-6 I started having some nausea and congestion again upon waking but trips to the restroom stopped. Day 8, mild congestion but feel normal for once. Doc did advise if the post nasal drip etc didn't cease I may need to see an ENT. So I'd say that this med is doing it's job handling the bacterial infection at least. Feel 90% better. Symptoms were uncomfortable when they hit, not unbearable."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "I am currently staying in the hospital overnight with an infected colon ( thought it was appendicitis it was so close), crazy watery diarrhea, vomiting, severe stomach cramps, and therefore dehydration. I have never had digestive problems like this and I've never been in a hospital overnight. This is seriously because of augmentin. Do not take this drug!"
