Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Sinusitis: Been on 875 mgs 2 times a day for a sinus infection for 6 days and I don't feel any better, everything still hurts. I have not had any side effects. My doctor said it could take up to 4 weeks....

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Bronchitis: This is the best antibiotic for the treatment of sinusitis and bronchitis. ALL antibiotics can give you diarrhea because they also can destroy the 'good' bacteria in your gut. You can alleviate this by taking a pro-biotic in small doses, or just have some yogurt for breakfast.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection: Took Augmentin for a bacterial infection. The infection cleared up, but the day I took my last dose, I broke out in severe hives. I was out of town so did not see my doctor. Took Benadryl every 6 hours for 4 days before the hives subsided. The hives covered everywhere from my face to my feet. Although it cleared up my infection, I would not want to face that side effect again. Never had any allergies to antibiotics before.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Otitis Media: For my son, who got multiple ear infections, Augmentin worked well. We always increase his yogurt intake while on antibiotics and he's has little to no trouble with this side effect. Seems to taste Okay to him too. good drug...try to be proactive about the diarrhea and/or yeast infection with porbiotics and taking the med with food. my two cents...

amoxicillin/clavulanate for Skin and Structure Infection: This medication made me seriously ill. I was prescribed it following an animal bite that resulted in infection. I took the first dose and two hours later I was stricken with violent projectile vomiting that caused me to lose control of my bladder and bowels. I reported this to my doctor who was sure it wasn't the medication and advised that I try taking 1/2 the dose. The second dose also cause side effects, and I had to go to urgent care with an iv. After 5 hours in urgent care and three bags of fluid and antibiotics with anti-nausea medicines I finally went home. I've never vomited so violently ever.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Sinusitis: I have chronic prostatitis kept in check with Flomax. This drug interfered with my Flomax and I became symptomatic with my prostatitis within 48 hrs. Quite a shock after having been symptom free for almost 2 years!

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection: I had an infection caused by cat bites & scratches on my hand (my cat got caught in a vine by his tail and was in a complete panic; I freed him from the vine, however, during that process he latched onto my hand and bit and scratched - he is ok, thank goodness). I was prescribed this medication; it took time, yet it did work to eliminate the infection. The side-effects of 2 pills/day of 875mg each (total/day = 1,750mg) for 10 days had a strong effect on me. I did not follow-up with the hospital, which I should have done. I would emphasize that if anyone is to take that amount of this medication, to consult with their doctor when side effects are seen.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Strep Throat: This cleared my throat infection within 2 days and made me feel so much better pretty quickly as far as temperature and discomfort were concerned. However, I did vomit with it and felt nauseous for about an hour and a half after taking it. The diarrhoea is still with me on day 4.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Otitis Media: Medicine worked great to clear up my ear infection, but I had a severe rash as a side effect and had to stop taking it. I had no respiratory reaction or other symptoms of allergic reaction.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Strep Throat: This medication did clear up my strep throat within the first couple days being on it. However the side effects were horrible. I had watery diarrhea for like 3 days, I always felt nausea after taking it even with food, and I had strong stomach pains. Also by the 4th day on it I had a yeast infection.

amoxicillin/clavulanate for Bacterial Infection: I had my appendix removed. This medicine was easy to use and administer. Some minor side effects with this medication were softer stools, loss of appetite, and darkening of the urine.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Otitis Media: My 17 month old son gets many ear infections. After 8 days on this one he had an allergic reaction. The doctors in ER told us he is allergic to Penicillin. Also, his ear infection didn't clear-up with this antibiotic. Maybe others will have better luck.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection: My son had over half of the severe reactions to this medicine. He was prescribed this medicine for an ear infection. We spent a whole day in the doctors office being tested for everything from cancer and blood disorders to simple viruses. Thankfully, we found out it was just a reaction to augmentin. Our oldest son has had augmentin before without any reaction what-so-ever.

amoxicillin/clavulanate for Otitis Media: Gave me severe diarrhea for a day and a half now. Started the medicine on Friday night and diarrhea started Saturday evening. Doubt I can go to work tomorrow - don't want to quit the medicine until I talk to my doctor tomorrow though.

Augmentin XR (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Skin and Structure Infection: Had a cat bite me on my hand...full set of teeth and sharp. Hand swelled and was red. Took augmentin 8 hours after being bitten and within 3 days swelling went down and redness had faded. 6 years as an animal control officer and never injured once...help my friend pick out a cat at the local humane society and get bitten...oh the irony! This is an excellent medicine for cat bites. Had a friend tell me her dad got bitten by a cat and he ended up in the hospital and almost died from an infection. Lucky me from my experience I knew to seek medical attention immediately. Anyone bitten by a cat should know they have about an 85% chance of infection and need to take it very seriously or you'll end up in hospital.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection: Works well. Watch for diaper rash (yeast type) in infants. Apply cream to diaper area liberally at every diaper change and give probiotics.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection: Had a bad sinus infection that went into my lungs, but after 3 days on Augmentin, I started to feel much better. The only drawback for me is the nausea and mild diarrhea.

amoxicillin/clavulanate for Bronchitis: This medication worked wonders! My lungs hurt so bad, and I was coughing with a rattling sound in my chest. After one day of the medicine, I was breathing so much easier and the rattling was gone.

Augmentin (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Skin Infection: I suffered from Pseudofolliculitis behind my head for years and by chance I got Augmentin from Libya without any prescription. In Europe all the doctors that I consulted could not find solution for this problem so one day I just worked into a pharmacy in Libya and showed it to the Doctor in charge of the pharmacy who adviced me to take Augmentin. I was a bit hesitant but before my returning date (after 5 days) I noticed that all the bumps are drying. and now I'm very proud of my head.

Augmentin XR (amoxicillin/clavulanate) for Skin and Structure Infection: I had a serious puncture from a dogs tooth on my hand. My hand swelled and red streaks were running up my arm. Within three days there was remarkable improvment. My doctor said I would be lucky if I didn't end up in the hospital. Well I think Augmentin XR kept me out of hospital.
