Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "Possibly the greatest thing ever invented. No side effects for me, and it knocks out my long-running sinus infections. Z-packs and other antibiotics are almost useless for me. 875mg Augmentin twice per day for 10 days gets rid of the infection COMPLETELY. Everything else helps for a week or two, and then I'm back to the doctor."

For Otitis Media "I’m my third day at 875mg twice a day and experiencing zero side effects. I thought it would affect my stomach as I have an acidic stomach and it hasn’t. Not sure if it’s working on ear infection yet will post after I finish the 7 day course. Please note: If I’d read the experiences people post here I’d never have taken it so I hope this helps someone if they’ve been prescribed this medication."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "Ok so I started with pneumonia and then it kinda came back as a sinus infection/ bronchitis (I have no idea). So they gave me this antibiotic for resistance issues. The first dose had my tummy rumbling, but I ate and took a probiotic! I had loose stools (and still have them) but I am slightly afraid of antibiotics just because they upset my stomach (previously the doxy for my lungs). But the probiotic helps SO MUCH! As long as you eat with it, and take a probiotic if you want to, then you should be fine. I really like the way it’s working! I’m almost clear even though I’m on it for a week and I’m only two days in. Be safe!"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Kidney Infections "Was prescribed this Augmentin (875/125) 2 doses a day for 7 days after being misdiagnosed with a UTI and on Keflex for a week before that did nothing for my fever or pain or infection. When I was finally diagnosed with a Kidney infection, I started taking Augmentin. I’m on day 3 and feeling SO much better without my fever and kidney pain. However I am having mild side affects. I get a decent headache within hours of taking each dose, and there is some diarrhea. However taking it with food lessens those side effects and the main thing I know is helping is taking good probiotics daily as well that has helped keep my flora balanced and prevent the thrush a lot of people experience after this medication. Very effective, just be sure to replenish the good bacteria in your system as you are taking it."

For Sinusitis "This is a strong and multi purpose antibiotic. Yes you will get stomach pain, yes you will get loose stools and yes you get some other form of discomfort. But if you want to rid your upper respiratory infection quick and for good then this is the drug. No pain no gain. This drug almost guarantees that the original infection will not return. When it comes to sinuses you need to destroy all off the bad bacteria for good. Just reducing the bacteria with a mild antibiotic that agrees with you is certain to allow the same bacteria to grow and make you sick again a month or two in the future. Tough it up butter cup and destroy that bad bacteria for good."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "Seem to work very well. I have had a sinus infection for over a week and was feeling miserable. I started taking Augmentin yesterday and today I already feel 90% better! Yay! I think it is very important to take a high potency good bacteria pill (forgetting right now what they are called!) Very pleased with this perscription"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "DO NOT TAKE AUGMENTIN! I am healthy (run marathons-no pre-existing cond.) & never take meds. I was prescribed this for headache (after vehicle accident) and a little sinusitis at Onpoint. I was so sick & after 5 days (my heart starting hurting, lost all healthy bacteria (worst diarrhea & stripped stomach lining) had fiery red rash after 10 days all over my body! It took 2 wks for the rash to go away after I got off Augmentin. My body systems have never been same!! destroyed them.THIS IS TOXIC tell your doctors too). If you MUST take antibiotic use something safer. Also, my husband (really healthy) didn't quite believe me. He was prescribed it he was flat on his back/couch vomiting & couldn't MOVE after 2 days! he stopped immediately"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Pneumonia "Diagnosed with bronchial pneumonia two days ago. Had a fever of 102 at that point. Within two days, I don't have a fever. I am beginning to cough up the infection where I struggled before. I have to be open and add that I was also given prednisone to take. Between the two, at the end of the second day, I am beginning to feel better. Still a ways off but I feel a difference."

For Otitis Media "I see a lot of reviews here regarding GI upset with amoxicillin and clavulanate . My way of avoiding GI upset is to simply take a complete digestive enzyme before each meal and only take my antibiotics on a full stomach not before or in the middle of my meal. I also take a probiotic between doses of antibiotics. Hope this helps someone out there"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Strep Throat "On tamiflu for the flu, zpack for strep-throat and motrin for pain and fever. Day 2: me begging please give me penicillin please.. my throat began to swell and was covered with infection. I went to urgent care and was given prednisone shot along with Rocephin shot. Followed with prescription for prednisone, augmentin and diflucan. IMMEDIATELY the augment kick the hell out of the strep-throat. I began spitting out the infection.. the flu symptoms subsided. And all is right in the world. I had the runs, upset stomach and yeast infection.. all of those pale in comparison to strep-throat and the flu"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "I loved the Antibiotic. If you take probiotics and eat yogurt you'll be fine. If you're sensitive to antibiotics and get yeast infections easily. I recommend asking you GP for diflucan 2 pills take it 2 or 3 days into the antibiotic course then on day 6 or 7."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Starting in February 2017 I started to develop pain in the scrotum and testicle area. The pain has gone on until mid-April. I have only been able to have sex a couple of times because the pain is very severe. I was ruled out for STDs and sonograms seemed normal. Apparently, because of weightlifting while having the bladder full, I had chemical backflow which caused epididymitis (infection of the tubes connecting testicles to the urethra) and orchitis (infection of the testicles). I went through doxycycline for 14 days and nothing. I started Cipro but the side effects were devastating, it is poison (read it on your own online). I started Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium 875 mg 3 days ago and I am starting to feel better for the first time in ages"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "Augmentin: The first time I took it was about 8 yrs ago. It did the job quick but I had diarrhea for about a year. {not kidding! also developed plantar fasciitis for a brief period possibly due to a lack of certain nutrients, caused by the extended bout of diarrhea} I did not know what probiotics are at the time!?:( I blamed myself and that other guy, My doctor for not mentioning the benefits of probiotics. Probiotics maintain a healthy level of good bacteria that most antibiotics will destroy, This prevents or minimizes greatly any diarrhea. Augmentin also contains clavulanic acid which causes the upset stomach. Ranitidine, which is an acid reducer can help soften the sour stomach often associated with augmentin. Augmentin does work!!!"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection "This is NOT a good choice if you're allergic to any penicillin-type antibiotics or prone to vaginal yeast infection. AVOID. Talk about severe vaginal itching! It's the kind of itching without odor or discharge; just full-fledged random itching. Short term remedy is Benadryl. I didn't know I was allergic until I was prescribed this for a sinus infection. So, it's been 6/10 days on Augmentin and I'm calling it quits. To be fair: the sinus infection is all clear, so it does work. Apparently, this reaction happens to 1 out of 15 patients."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Strep Throat "My worst nightmare started with uncontrollable sneezing in the evening which later developed into severe throat pain and musculoskeletal pain with temperatures shooting up to 103. The physician (whom I consulted in the absence of my family physician) prescribed cefixime and Azithromycin (200 500) combination twice a day, but the progress was very slow with the temp remaining high at 103. Fortunately, my physician returned and I consulted again and was prescribed Augmentin 625 twice a day for 3 days. Within a day, I found excellent improvement and the second day the strep pharyngitis completely subsided."

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Sinusitis "Went to urgent care with a tooth ache. Told I had a severe sinus infection. Mind you I've had swelling on the left side of my face for 5 years, been thru every test out there, for answers with no success. Ever since the swelling started I've suffered ear infections (left side only) and sinus infections to no end. Dentist would tell me my X-rays don't look normal, but offered no explanation. Okay so, urgent care prescribed penicillin 500mg, but I explain to the dr that I may have a tolerance to that with all the antibiotics I've been on so she prescribes, Augmentin 875 2x a day for 10days. Over a few days I'm dizzy, nauseous, pressure headaches like my brain is being squeeszed. The worst medicine EVER!!!"

Augmentin (amoxicillin / clavulanate) for Bacterial Infection "Took it via IV for five days in hospital for diviculitus infection, temperature dropped in a day and inflammation decreased. But had to take two more courses after being discharged to fully clear the infection I found the sickness and nausea very harsh and felt very weak when on it,surprisingly it didn't upset my stomach Side effects cleared very quickly a few days after stoping it,I would rather take this than the dangerous alternative cipro. So would probably take again even though the side effects were difficult"

For Urinary Tract Infection "I have been put on Augmentin 875mg-125mg twice a day for a urinary tract/kidney infection (E.coli strain). I have taken this medication before and so I wasn't concerned about any serious side effects. This medication works well for me, which says a lot considering I do have serious side effects to many things (compazine, droperidol, erythromycin). I felt better within 1 day of taking my dose and the only problem I am experiencing is a strange rattle/"percolating" feeling in my chest when I breathe. It's annoying but not preventing me from breathing, walking around or even going to work. I have taken a daily probiotic pill (Natures Way Primadophilus refrigerated) for years and I believe this is what prevents any upset stomach or yeast issues."
