Jaundice in Adults

Alcohol can lead to jaundice by causing inflammation in the liver (alcoholic hepatitis) or by causing scarring in the liver (cirrhosis).

You should be evaluated by a physician, such as a doctor in an emergency department, as soon as possible. If alcohol is the cause of your jaundice, then your alcohol habit is currently life-threatening. Stop drinking alcohol immediately and get medical care.
