Medrysone ophthalmic Pregnancy Warnings
Medrysone ophthalmic suspension has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal data have revealed evidence of fetal resorption in rabbits given 10 to 30 times the recommended human ophthalmic dose. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Medrysone ophthalmic is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Medrysone ophthalmic Breastfeeding Warnings
There are no data on the excretion of medrysone into human milk. Topically applied steroids have been reported to be absorbed systemically and could suppress infant growth and endogenous corticosteroid production.
