What is Xopenex (Zopenex)?
Xopenex (Zopenex) is a sympathomimetic (beta agonist) bronchodilator. Xopenex (Zopenex) works by relaxing the smooth muscle in the walls of the lungs' many tiny airways (bronchioles), allowing them to expand so you can get more air and improve breathing.
Xopenex (Zopenex) is used to treat asthma and other reversible obstructive airway conditions such as bronchitis and emphysema.
Xopenex (Zopenex) may also be used for conditions other than those listed here.
Xopenex (Zopenex) side effects may include nausea, dry mouth or cough. To relieve dry mouth, suck on hard candy or ice chips, chew gum, drink water or use a saliva substitute.
