Demoral
Demoral is a common misspelling of Demerol (meperidine).
What is Demerol (Demoral)?
Demerol (Demoral) is a narcotic analgesic used for the relief of moderate to severe pain. It works by dulling the pain perception center in the brain. Demerol (Demoral) may also be used before or during surgery (eg, to support anesthesia) and for pain relief during labor and delivery. Demerol (Demoral) may be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
Demerol (Demoral) dosage should be adjusted according to the severity of the pain and its effectiveness at reducing pain. Demerol (Demoral) is less effective when given by mouth when compared to administration by injection. The dose of Demerol (Demoral) should be proportionately reduced (usually by 25 to 50 percent) when administered at the same time as phenothiazines and many other tranquilizers, since these medicines increase the effects of Demerol (Demoral).
