Drug Interaction Report
1 potential interaction and/or warning found for the following 2 drugs:
- Empaveli (pegcetacoplan)
- pegvaliase
Interactions between your drugs
pegvaliase pegcetacoplan
Applies to: pegvaliase, Empaveli (pegcetacoplan)
Pegvaliase may cause severe allergic reactions, and using it together with other "PEGylated" medications (i.E., medications formulated with polyethylene glycol) may increase the risk. Some examples of PEGylated medications besides pegvaliase include: certolizumab pegol (Cimzia); doxorubicin liposomal (Doxil, Lipodox); eflapegrastim (Rolvedon); epoetin beta-methoxy polyethylene glycol (Mircera); irinotecan liposomal (Onivyde); medroxyprogesterone acetate injectable suspension (Depo-Provera); naloxegol (Movantik); pegademase bovine (Adagen); pegaptanib (Macugen); pegaspargase (Oncaspar); pegfilgrastim (Neulasta, Fulphila); peginesatide (Omontys); peginterferons (Pegasys, PEG-Intron, Sylatron, Plegridy); pegloticase (Krystexxa); pegvisomant (Somavert); and certain recombinant products used to treat hemophilia (Adynovate, Rebinyn). Before receiving treatment with pegvaliase, let your doctor know if you are currently using other PEGylated products such as pegcetacoplan. Your doctor will prescribe an auto-injectable epinephrine for you (or your caregiver) to administer in case you experience a severe allergic reaction during treatment with pegvaliase. You should stop using pegvaliase and seek immediate medical attention if you develop any of the following symptoms of a severe allergic reaction: fainting; dizziness or lightheadedness; sudden confusion; trouble breathing or wheezing; chest discomfort or tightness; rapid heart rate; swelling of your face, lips, eyes, or tongue; throat tightness; flushing; rash, itching, or raised bumps on skin; nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea; and incontinence. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food/lifestyle interactions
No alcohol/food interactions were found with the drugs in your list. However, this does not necessarily mean no food interactions exist. Always consult your healthcare provider.
Therapeutic duplication warnings
No duplication warnings were found for your selected drugs.
Therapeutic duplication warnings are only returned when drugs within the same group exceed the recommended therapeutic duplication maximum.
Drug Interaction Classification
Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
