Talk to your doctor before using SUNItinib together with voriconazole. Combining these medications can significantly increase the blood levels of SUNItinib. You may be more likely to develop side effects such as diarrhea; constipation; redness, swelling, pain, numbness or tingling in your hands and feet; mouth ulcers or sores; bleeding problems; liver damage; heart problems; high blood pressure; and irregular heartbeat. You may not be able to take voriconazole during treatment with SUNItinib, or you may need a dose adjustment and/or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Contact your doctor immediately if you develop fever, chills, joint pain or swelling, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, itching, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, dark colored urine, light colored stools, and/or yellowing of the skin or eyes, as these may be signs and symptoms of liver damage. You should also seek immediate medical attention if you experience sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, swelling, chest pain, or fast or pounding heartbeats. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

You may experience reduced absorption of voriconazole in the presence of food. Take voriconazole on an empty stomach 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal unless otherwise directed by your doctor. This will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication.

SUNItinib food

Applies to: sunitinib

SUNItinib may be taken with or without food. If you are receiving therapy with SUNItinib you should avoid the regular consumption of large amounts of grapefruits and grapefruit juice. Grapefruit can raise the levels of SUNItinib in your body and lead to increased side effects. Do not increase or decrease the amount of grapefruit products in your diet without first talking to your doctor.
