filgrastim tisagenlecleucel
Applies to: Releuko (filgrastim) and tisagenlecleucel
Using filgrastim during or too soon after tisagenlecleucel infusion may alter the effects of both treatments. Medications like filgrastim should generally not be given for a period of time after tisagenlecleucel treatment or until resolution of cytokine release syndrome (CRS), which is a potentially life-threatening condition that may occur following treatment with tisagenlecleucel and often requires hospitalization. Signs and symptoms of CRS include dizziness; lightheadedness; low blood pressure; high fever; difficulty breathing; chills or shaking chills; severe nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea; and severe muscle and joint pain. Heart, liver, or kidney function may also be affected in some patients with CRS. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Your doctor may already be aware of the risks, but has taken appropriate precautions and is monitoring you closely for any potential complications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
