Antacids may interfere with the absorption of velpatasvir and reduce its effectiveness. Products with antacid effects typically contain aluminum hydroxide, calcium carbonate, magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate, magnesium oxide, magaldrate, sodium bicarbonate, and/or sodium citrate. To prevent or minimize the interaction, antacid-containing preparations should be taken 4 hours before or 4 hours after the velpatasvir dose. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Applies to: sofosbuvir / velpatasvir / voxilaprevir and sofosbuvir / velpatasvir / voxilaprevir

Velpatasvir may increase the blood levels of voxilaprevir in some patients. The safety of high levels of voxilaprevir has not been established. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Oral medications may not be properly absorbed when they are taken within one hour before starting sodium picosulfate for bowel cleansing.
