Drug interactions between pegloticase and pegvisomant
Interactions between your drugs
Applies to: pegvisomant and pegloticase
Treatment with pegloticase may cause pegvisomant to be less effective in some cases. Many patients treated with pegloticase develop antibodies against one of the components that is also found in pegvisomant. High levels of the antibodies have been associated with reduced effectiveness of pegloticase, so it is possible that they may also interfere with the effects of pegvisomant. Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen during treatment with these medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
