Drug Interactions between neratinib and Rolaids Advanced
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- neratinib
- Rolaids Advanced (calcium carbonate/magnesium hydroxide/simethicone)
Interactions between your drugs
calcium carbonate neratinib
Applies to: Rolaids Advanced (calcium carbonate / magnesium hydroxide / simethicone) and neratinib
By reducing the acidity level in the stomach, calcium carbonate may interfere with the absorption of neratinib and reduce its effectiveness. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns. You may need to adjust the timing of your medication doses to minimize the interaction. It has been recommended to take neratinib three hours after an antacid dose. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
magnesium hydroxide neratinib

Drug and food interactions
neratinib food
Applies to: neratinib
Grapefruit juice can increase the blood levels of neratinib. This may increase the risk and/or severity of side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, mouth sores, loss of appetite, and liver problems. You should avoid the consumption of grapefruit and grapefruit juice during treatment with neratinib. Be sure to take the medication with food at the same time everyday to maintain consistent blood levels and effects. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take this or other medications you are prescribed. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
calcium carbonate food
Applies to: Rolaids Advanced (calcium carbonate / magnesium hydroxide / simethicone)
Calcium absorption may be increased by taking it with food. However, foods high in oxalic acid (spinach or rhubarb), or phytic acid (bran and whole grains) may decrease calcium absorption. Calcium may be taken with food to increase absorption. Consider spacing calcium administration for at least 2 hours before or after consuming foods high in oxalic acid or phytic acid. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
