Interactions between your drugs

Moderate

PEMEtrexed glucarpidase

Applies to: pemetrexed and glucarpidase

If you are currently being treated with PEMEtrexed, let your doctor know before you receive glucarpidase. There is a possibility that these medications may interfere with each other's effects if they are given too close together. Your doctor may want to separate the dosing times by two to four hours so as to reduce the risk of an interaction, or s/he may want to monitor you more closely to make sure the medications are working as intended. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Major Highly clinically significant. Avoid combinations; the risk of the interaction outweighs the benefit.
Moderate Moderately clinically significant. Usually avoid combinations; use it only under special circumstances.
Minor Minimally clinically significant. Minimize risk; assess risk and consider an alternative drug, take steps to circumvent the interaction risk and/or institute a monitoring plan.
