This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- cycloserine
- Omnipaque 12 (iohexol)
Interactions between your drugs
cycloSERINE iohexol
Applies to: cycloserine and Omnipaque 12 (iohexol)
Before you undergo any imaging procedure where iohexol may be injected directly into the spine, let your doctor know if you are currently being treated with cycloSERINE. Injection of iohexol into the spine can sometimes cause seizures, and the risk may be increased if you are also using other medications that can cause seizures such as cycloSERINE. You may be more susceptible if you are elderly, undergoing alcohol or drug withdrawal, have a history of seizures, or have a condition affecting the central nervous system such as a brain tumor or head trauma. Your doctor may want to withhold cycloSERINE for a certain length of time before and after the procedure, or you may need to be monitored more closely during the procedure. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
cycloSERINE food
Applies to: cycloserine
Using cycloSERINE together with alcohol may increase the risk and/or severity of central nervous system side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, depression, anxiety, psychoses, memory impairment, confusion, and convulsions. You should not use alcohol during treatment with cycloSERINE. In addition, using cycloSERINE together with caffeine may increase side effects such as insomnia, excitability, irritability, anxiety, tremor, psychoses, and convulsions. Do not use caffeine-containing medications without first talking to your doctor or pharmacist. You should also avoid the consumption of certain beverages or stimulants with very high caffeine levels (for example, energy drinks) during treatment with cycloSERINE. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
