Drug interactions between cimetidine and imipramine
Interactions between your drugs
Applies to: cimetidine and imipramine
Using cimetidine together with imipramine can increase the levels of imipramine. Contact your doctor if you experience excessive imipramine effects. This can include dry mouth, blurry vision, irregular or fast heartbeat, constipation, urinary retention, or extreme drowsiness. This can also cause dizziness or feeling like you might pass out, especially when getting up from a sitting or lying position. You may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
