- Decadron with Xylocaine (dexamethasone/lidocaine)
Interactions between your drugs
dexAMETHasone exenatide
Applies to: Decadron with Xylocaine (dexamethasone / lidocaine) and Bydureon BCise (exenatide)
DexAMETHasone may interfere with blood glucose control and reduce the effectiveness of exenatide and other diabetic medications. Monitor your blood sugar levels closely. You may need a dose adjustment of your diabetic medications during and after treatment with dexAMETHasone. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
lidocaine dexAMETHasone
Applies to: Decadron with Xylocaine (dexamethasone / lidocaine) and Decadron with Xylocaine (dexamethasone / lidocaine)
Information for this minor interaction is available on the professional version.
Drug and food interactions
lidocaine food
Applies to: Decadron with Xylocaine (dexamethasone / lidocaine)
Grapefruit juice may increase the blood levels of lidocaine, which may increase the risk of side effects such as low blood pressure, slow heart rate, irregular heart rhythm, difficulty breathing and convulsions. Cigarette smoking may reduce the blood levels of lidocaine, which may make the medication less effective. It is best to avoid smoking during lidocaine therapy. Consuming cruciferous vegetables (e.G., broccoli, brussels sprouts) may also reduce the blood levels of lidocaine. Talk to a healthcare professional if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
exenatide food
Applies to: Bydureon BCise (exenatide)
You should take exenatide twice a day, at any time within the 60 minutes (1 hour) before your morning and evening meals, or before the two main meals of the day, and at least 6 hours or more apart. You may experience decreased absorption of exenatide in the presence of food or other medications. Your other medications should be administered at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after your exenatide injection.
