If you are currently being treated with atovaquone, let your doctor know before you receive fecal microbiota, live. Using atovaquone together with fecal microbiota, live or 1 to 3 days before receiving treatment with fecal microbiota, live may decrease the effects of fecal microbiota, live. In addition, it may be advisable to avoid using any oral formulations of atovaquone for 8 weeks after treatment with fecal microbiota, live. Your doctor may want to separate the dosing times by a few days or weeks to reduce the risk of an interaction, or they may want to monitor you more closely to make sure the medications are working as intended. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions

Applies to: atovaquone / proguanil
Food significantly enhances the absorption of atovaquone. You should take each dose of atovaquone at the same time each day with a meal or a milky drink. If you receive enteral nutrition (tube feeding), take atovaquone with your feeding. Taking it on an empty stomach may lead to inadequate blood levels and reduced effectiveness of the medication. Talk to your doctor if you have questions or have difficulty taking atovaquone with food.
