- amoxicillin/clarithromycin/lansoprazole
- quinidine
Interactions between your drugs
quiNIDine clarithromycin
Applies to: quinidine and amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole
Talk to your doctor before using quiNIDine together with clarithromycin. Combining these medications can increase the blood levels and effects of quiNIDine. This may increase the risk of an irregular heart rhythm that may be serious, as well as other side effects of quiNIDine such as dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and visual disturbances. Your doctor may be able to prescribe alternatives that do not interact, or you may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. Let your doctor know if you experience headache, confusion, vomiting, diarrhea, ringing in the ears, hearing loss, blurred or double vision, or sensitivity to light, as these may be signs and symptoms of excessive quiNIDine levels. You should seek immediate medical attention if you develop sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or fast or pounding heartbeats. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
