Drug Interactions between Acid Controller Complete Dual Action and dabigatran
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate/famotidine/magnesium hydroxide)
- dabigatran
Interactions between your drugs
famotidine dabigatran
Applies to: Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide) and dabigatran
Talk to your doctor before using dabigatran if you are receiving famotidine for a gastrointestinal condition such as stomach ulcer or bleeding. Treatment with dabigatran may worsen your symptoms and increase the risk of bleeding. Contact your doctor if you experience potential signs and symptoms of bleeding such as dizziness; lightheadedness; red or black stools; coughing up or vomiting blood or blood clots; and abdominal pain. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
calcium carbonate dabigatran
Applies to: Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide) and dabigatran
Taking the dabigatran and calcium carbonate doses too close together may interfere with the absorption of dabigatran and reduce its effectiveness. To prevent or minimize the interaction, you should take dabigatran at least two hours before calcium carbonate. In addition, you should avoid taking calcium carbonate within 24 hours after orthopedic surgery. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
magnesium hydroxide dabigatran
Applies to: Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide) and dabigatran
Taking the dabigatran and magnesium hydroxide doses too close together may interfere with the absorption of dabigatran and reduce its effectiveness. To prevent or minimize the interaction, you should take dabigatran at least two hours before magnesium hydroxide. In addition, you should avoid taking magnesium hydroxide within 24 hours after orthopedic surgery. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
famotidine calcium carbonate
Applies to: Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide) and Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide)
Information for this minor interaction is available on the professional version.
famotidine magnesium hydroxide
Applies to: Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide) and Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide)
Information for this minor interaction is available on the professional version.
Drug and food interactions
calcium carbonate food
Applies to: Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide)
Calcium absorption may be increased by taking it with food. However, foods high in oxalic acid (spinach or rhubarb), or phytic acid (bran and whole grains) may decrease calcium absorption. Calcium may be taken with food to increase absorption. Consider spacing calcium administration for at least 2 hours before or after consuming foods high in oxalic acid or phytic acid. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
famotidine food
Applies to: Acid Controller Complete Dual Action (calcium carbonate / famotidine / magnesium hydroxide)
Information for this minor interaction is available on the professional version.
