Interactions between your drugs
ranolazine abrocitinib
Applies to: ranolazine and abrocitinib
Abrocitinib may increase the blood levels of ranolazine. You may need a dose adjustment or more frequent monitoring by your doctor to safely use both medications. High blood levels of ranolazine can occasionally cause an irregular heart rhythm that may be serious and potentially life-threatening, although it is a relatively rare side effect. You should seek immediate medical attention if you develop sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, shortness of breath, or heart palpitations during treatment with these medications, whether together or alone. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
ranolazine food
Applies to: ranolazine
You may take ranolazine with or without food, but should try to take it the same way every time. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice should be avoided if possible. Grapefruit juice can increase the levels of ranolazine in your body. High blood levels of food can occasionally cause an irregular heart rhythm that may be serious. You should seek immediate medical attention if you develop sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, or fast or pounding heartbeats during treatment with ranolazine. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
abrocitinib food
Applies to: abrocitinib
Abrocitinib may be taken with or without food. Smoking during treatment with abrocitinib may increase your risk of serious cardiovascular events and of developing malignancies. Tell your doctor if you are a current or past smoker. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. Get emergency help right away if you develop any symptoms of a heart attack or stroke during treatment with abrocitinib, including severe tightness, pain, pressure, or heaviness in your chest, neck, or jaw; weakness in one side of your body; slurred speech; shortness of breath or feeling lightheaded. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
