Ischemic heart disease is a narrowing or blockage of the small blood vessels that supply blood and oxygen to the heart. It is usually caused by atherosclerosis, a buildup of plaque in the arteries to your heart. It can trigger angina and heart attacks. History (familial) is the information gained by a physician by asking specific questions about the patients family.
