Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I was one of the people who found no benefit after 8 + weeks. I knew that only 1 in 3 seem to see reduction in hair growth."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "This cream is not for me! It burned my skin and I have been dealing with really bad skin since, although I stopped using it as soon as I broke out. My face is completely covered with small pimples and blackheads for weeks. I can't believe I paid this much money for a cream just to have my face get this bad. I'd rather have hair in the face quite honestly."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "My whole life I had really nice skin. Then, in my late 30's I started to get these patches of thick hairs on my chin and lip that would become ingrown and cause painful acne/folliculitis. My dermatologist suggested Vaniqa. I used it for 6 weeks. My skin became the worst it's ever been. The hairs became deeper ingrown seemingly causing so much pain and I didn't think the grown of the other hair was slowing down at all. I developed the most horrific cystic acne that 18 months later, still in not healed. In the areas I used it, I developed scars where the pigmentation is completely gone and I have deep indentations about 1/2 inch in diameter all over my face. If I ever want to look normal again, I'll need so much cosmetic surgery. The absolute only thing in my regime that was different was the vaniqa and after I stopped using it, the cystic acne slowed and then stopped."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I got this to help with my facial hair (around chin/jawline). It does not seem to work. I am still plucking and shaving just as often as I was before. When I originally started this medication my testosterone levels were normal, which was confusing as to how I had hair growth in the first place. I have been taking this for about 6 months and my testosterone levels are now high. Not sure if the medication had anything to do with it or if it is in fact undiagnosed PCOS. I would not recommend this medication because it is a waste of money and doesn't work as promised."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I have recently tried Vaniqa for facial hair and I have lost so much hair on my scalp I would say 40 percent of my hair. I began noticing so much hair loss once I began using vaniqa for facial hair and I stopped using the product. Not sure if anyone else went through this."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "This was horrible. Had horrible side effects/burned my chin area. Did NOTHING!! I could and would have rather spent the money on multiple effective laser treatments. Very disappointed in money dropped on this worthless product! Literally been using it for months and NOTHING at all! In fact since using it I have noticed more hair! Beware of this no wonder product - doctors never recommend it!"

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I had used vaniqua for 5 years and it worked beautiful. No shaving anymore . Then it went off the market for some time and came back . I ordered it again and it appears it doesn't work like the old fomulation. I have used it for 4 months now and no results. I am so heartbroken because it was the only treatment that worked for me in the past. Please if anyone has something that is working for them .. please leave a message on here. I will really appreciate it "

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I’ve been using Vaniqa for over 15 years. Before the recent shortage I found it to work wonderfully. I have dark coarse hairs growing in my chin area, but when I used Vaniqa I didn’t have to shave often. Furthermore, I only had to use Vaniqa once or twice a week for it to be effective. I’d usually put it on in the evening before going to bed one or two nights a week and that was enough. When the shortage happened and I couldn’t get Vaniqa, I resorted to electrolysis. When Vaniqa finally came back on the market I thought I would stop electrolysis and just go back to using the cream. WRONG. I don’t know what they’ve done to Vaniqa but it does not work as effectively as before. I use it daily and I still have to shave everyday and I have that 5 o’clock shadow! Given how expensive it is (I’ve always paid for it out-of-pocket), I cant justify spending so much and getting no results. I’m going back to electrolysis."

"Eflornithine did not make a lot of difference. It only slowed the hair down a little bit for the price of $201, I expected action. I won't be buying again. I still have coarse dark hairs. Maybe it's not made for Black skin."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I had been on bio identical hormone replacement pellets in which the high dosage of testosterone gave me dark, thick hairs on my chin and thicker hairs above my lip. I changed to a new doctor and using hormone creams instead. He prescribed this for me mentioning it will stop the hair growth. I've been on it now for almost three months and it has done nothing but irritate my top lip. I have reddish skin now above my lip almost like a mild burn marks as well as patches of dry skin. My doctor told me it may take up to a year to begin working at that 90% of patients on it, continue with it. After reading some of the horrible reviews, I may opt for laser hair removal treatments. I have to do something as the hair growth is more than I can handle daily. I'm not happy with this at all."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome with very extreme hair growth. For instance, I got a haircut 3 weeks ago to above chin length, and it already grew back to a short ponytail. I have tried about every hair removal method there is, but it's tricky because some just plain don't work on me, and each place on the body has a different growth pattern. Anyway, suffice to say I shave my face much more often than my husband has to shave his. So I didn't mind spending $150 for less than 2 oz of cream. It's not supposed to show a difference until at least 4 or 8 weeks in. But within 3 days it was brutally clear that the hair was coming in much faster, thicker and unable to be removed. I stopped the cream and within a few days was back to normal growth"

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "Did nothing for me. I have been applying vaniqua twice a.day to my chin for over 2 months and I haven't noticed any change whatsoever. I will continue.to try until tube.is empty but will NOT repurchase. I don't want people.out there falsely assume this is some.sort of miracles cream that works fort everyone.. I have sharp, dark hairs on my chin and a few.scattered ones on my face and chest and I've had it since I was 20. I think electrolysis is the only way for me to better my "condition". Good luck to all out there battling this."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "For me, this medication worked everywhere but on my facial hair. It was definitely systemic for me as I noticed no hair growth in areas of my body, previously hairy, but no change in my facial hair. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I take a medication that causes hair loss. I noticed that there was no regrowth in hair on my scalp that I lost from the medication. "

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I had been using Vaniqa for nearly four months. It does show obvious signs of hair reduction but it darkens area of use leaving a mark which is the reason I have stopped using it. I am now using other products to get rid of pigmentation, which has now ruined my skin. I have turned to IPL treatment. I have read it heals automatically after a while but I can't wait for this I've started. Using skin lightener to cover up patch. I wouldn't advice anyone to use this product. I doesn't it come with enough advice on how to treat burn or a scar, so you end up wasting even more money."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I have been using Vaniqa for over 6 years and I was amazed at the results. It then went off of the market due to a shortage with a chemical and I was lost as my hair grew back and I had no idea as to what to do. I saw dermatologists but they told me to wait and gave me treatments that did not work. When Vaniqa came back on the market and I purchased it again in January this product has not been as effective as it was in the past. I use it twice a day as I did before. I still have the same coarse hair and I am not sure if the company has weakened the product or if my hair is not treatable. I will continue to use this product, but it is not as effective as it has been over 12 weeks and every day I pluck the same area."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "I really wanted to write a great review for this, but I just cannot. I started this product 6 weeks ago, so I realized that it may still be too early. I do think that the growth rate has slowed down slightly (still shaving 3 times a day, though). It’s been SO harsh on my skin that my neck looks even worse than before. I have bumps everywhere on my neck and chin that are so hard to cover up, and you can still see and feel stubble seconds after shaving. My self esteem is practically gone, and I don’t know how much longer I can do this. I plan on starting electrolysis in a few weeks, so will continue to use Vaniqa for now. I just wish I saw a better result, I was so hopeful."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "It has helped slow hair little bit which is the only reason I have given it any stars. I have to be honest I am disappointed in this. It has caused hair to grow under my skin and it is always visible. It also dried my skin out and my chin and neck look worse than when I didn't use this. Less hair but bumps, blotches, dark spots and permanent stubble. Giving up on it after this tube."

Vaniqa (eflornithine) "Not sure if it's working either, following directions for how $$ it is. I use to do Electrolysis which didn't do much either; she said not to pluck b/c it would reopen the now cauterized blood supply for the hair follicle; but idk if I should pluck for the $$ cream to get to the follicle? I also have to apply it to my "happy trail" and around my nipples my Doc said it's ok to use there. I'm applying rubbing alcohol to clean it better?? ALSO I apply to my beard minus rub alcohol SO I have to be very sparingly w/it. I also tried for a rebate, >:[ , not fair, not covered by insurance..coupon ideas any one. Are there generics and do they work?"
