Why does Medicare insurance pay for Lioresal but not Soma generic?

I have been on Soma for 3 years and when I just got on a Medicare insurance, they will not pay for Soma. They want me to take Baclofen, the generic for Lioresal which does not help me as much and has side effects that I do not like--headache and possiblity of an ovarian tumor.

Lioresal Intrathecal - Does the baclofen have an expiration date. I am on a low dose and could go?
