For High Blood Pressure "I was switched from amplodine to Verapamil While it maintained my bp my heart rate was still high. First day felt great after that I felt like I was dying. Memory loss, confusion, heart palpations, high anxiety (never been Anxious) scared to leave the house. I begged my cardio and GP to take me off this medication. I took it for 3 weeks and it was the worst time of My life. It hurt my throat and esophagus, I had diarrhea, lost 15 lbs and was in pain everyday."

For High Blood Pressure "I'm on Verapamil for high blood pressure, and I have the uncommon symptoms like edema, dizziness, shortness of breath, and hair loss. I'm trying to get off of it, and I normally take 240 mg per day, and yesterday I took 1/2 of a pill less, and my BP went up 20 points. I'm trying to find a bp med that works better with my body."

For Cluster Headaches "This drug has been a life saver I've managed to keep cycle at bay using 240mg although now have increased to 480mg as had few creeping in. There are side effects but what could be worse than the pain of cluster headaches!! Hugely recommend to sufferers."

For Cluster Headaches "I have had chronic cluster headaches for the past 6 years. My doctor tried all the usual meds to no avail. I did my own research and told him about trying Verapamil. I am now cluster-free for the past 7 months! Yes there are side effects (weight gain, sore neck for a couple weeks) but being that I was able to break the cycle at the lowest dosage (80mg 3x/day) I am beyond thrilled!"

For Cluster Headaches "I've been experiencing Chronic Cluster Headaches since 2005. I had no idea what was going on, and suffered for 3 years untreated and undiagnosed. After some internet sleuthing I was able to tell my doc what was going on. Fast forward to 2016. I take verapamil 180mg er twice a day. This treatment has worked almost without fail, until just recently. In the past I have had to take other meds in combination with the verapamil such as... Topamax, imatrex, magnesium, prednizone, and now lithium. None of these work for me, been having daily headaches again. I now have a sumatriptan injection I take when I feel one coming and it stops it within 10 minutes. I need help, please. "

For Cluster Headaches "My fiancé started with cluster headaches about six years ago. At first he was misdiagnosed by two doctors. We had to relocate due to work and found the best neurologist at Hershey Medical. He was diagnosed within seconds as having cluster headaches. It was explained that these headaches are usually misdiagnosed. The doctor put him on verapamil 120 ER and sumatriptan nasal along with oxygen. We had to increase to 180 but my fiancé has finally began to live a more normal life. He still gets the episodes but we are learning to adjust his meds as needed. THANK GOD AND HERSHEY MEDICAL"

Calan SR (verapamil) for Supraventricular Tachycardia "I used verapamil for 5 years to treat supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). With each visit to the doctor, they increased my dosage. I started out taking 30 mg once a day and ended with 180 mg once a day. For the most part, my symptoms were never controlled. The drug caused extreme fatigue and tiredness. I often had severe headaches and was constipated. I have been switched to atenolol 50 mg once a day now. Hopefully, I won't have as many unwanted side effects."

For Arrhythmia "I have been taking Verapamil ER 180mg once daily for arrhythmia for less than a week but my pulse hasn’t gone down below 100. I also have Ankylosing Spondylitis and Pulmonary hypertension. I feel anxious all the time. Could this be a combination of all my health problems?"

For Migraine Prevention "I am 72 years old and I have suffered migraines from age 9. They run in my family, father, grandfather. I am female. For 3 years I have used medical marijuana. I use 30 mg CBD oil morning and night. No more migraines. If I do feel a migraine I vape THC. It only take one or two inhales and it knocks it out before it takes hold. I have probably had to vape 3/4 times in the 3 years. I live in a state where you must register with the state and use certified dispensaries. Don’t mess around with all these pills, been there done that. Don’t buy CBD on the internet it’s not the real thing. Try medical marijuana."

For Cluster Headaches "This medicine is very effective. It did stop my cluster headaches the day after initially taken. However, the side effects (unusual weight gain, sinus pain, constipation, bloating, shortness of breath) have outweighted the benefits. Going to the Dr. tomorrow for alternative therapy."

Calan SR (verapamil) for Cluster Headaches "Calan SR worked miracles for me. It doesn't stop the headaches; over a short period of time, the drug builds up in your system, and then you can feel an attack coming on (the eye starting to droop and some nasal congestion). Then, voila, the headache is aborted!"

For Migraine Prevention "I use Verapamil ER 240 mg for the last 1.5 years, it has help reduce my migraines down to 4-5 a month from 12+ a month. I was told to watch my blood pressure because my blood pressure always runs low, so I bought a blood pressure machine and in the beginning my blood pressure was stable but with in the past 8 or so months it as been running higher than my normal. Even at rest it is high! I tried to look it up on the internet to see if anyone else has had this issue or if there was anything to show that it does increase blood pressure but found nothing. And when I mention it to my neurologist, along with the fact that since I've been taking this I've been getting random bruising (I will wake up and have 2-3 new ones!) but he states that it does not do that and that it must be my other meds, which I've been taking these for years without this problem!"

For High Blood Pressure "I took verapamil 240mg for three weeks, which did lower my BP nicely, but my feet swelled up and got red. I also had extreme back pain. The doctor reduced the dosage to 120mg, but I am still experiencing issues with feet swelling and back pain. It's worth noting that when I stopped taking verapamil, the swelling and back pain went away."

For High Blood Pressure "This stuff sucks! Was put on it a couple of years ago for a TBI to stop migraines. Didn’t work and all it did was make me sick and screw my BP up. I am now stuck with my pressure being a roller coaster ride and flip a coin to see if it’s high or low. You should try something else."

For Cluster Headaches "Began episodic cluster headaches 15 years ago at age 49. 5 years later they became chronic. Suffered terribly for a few years until I was prescribed verapamil 80MG tabs with dose up to 240MG 3X/day. I continually self regulate my dosage to the minimum effective dose; increasing (up to the maximum) when clusters try to break through then slowly cutting back to whatever keeps the clusters away. My normal maintenance dose is about 120MG to 160MG 3X/day. When I have my dose right I get ZERO indication of headaches, not even a hint. I have had no side effects with any dosage of verapamil daily for 9 years but wonder if occasional dizziness may be attributable to the verapamil. Neither slow release verapamil nor Imitrex worked for me."

For Cluster Headaches "I have been suffering from Cluster Headaches periodically for the past 3 years. Did some research online and decided to ask my doc for some verapamil. Last Christmas I started taking it just before a holiday party and accidentally found out it also calms my anxiety. I was able to relax, and talk to people like a normal person and actually enjoyed people's company. It was a while since I felt that way in a social situation and I am so glad I came across verapamil."

For Cluster Headaches "Spent 20 years trying to get a correct diagnosis of what ended up being cluster headaches. Finally diagnosed by a neurologist and started taking verapamil hydrochloride 240 mg once per day during cluster cycles with amazing results. Takes up to 9 days to work, but boy, does it work! Amazing results for this cluster sufferer. Has made my life worth living again. Side effects are minimal. If you have cluster headaches, then you really need this miracle pill!"

Calan SR (verapamil) for Nocturnal Leg Cramps "for several years I had SEVERE night time leg cramps. They got so bad that the veins in my legs would bulge out of my skin from my toes to my groin area. I would be unable to walk so my husband would help me to the tub where he would have it filled with the hottest water I could tolerate, which really helped a lot, and I would take 2 OTC leg cramp pills. But the veins popping ou got so severe my husband took me to the Dr. (Again!) and we explained about the veins popping out. He sat there for a moment and then like a light bulb came on he said " Let's try something. I'm going to put you on a channel blocker and let's see if that helps." That was 2 years ago and I no longer get leg cramps where the veins are popping out!"

For Cluster Headaches "I'm a 56 year old male and started having CH at age 18. Treatment is different for men than women as to what works best. I've had the best success with a neuro who fought to get my insurance to approve Oxygen. Breathing 10 milliliters per minute through a mask at the onset of the CH while lying down in the dark breathing slowly in through the nose has worked everytime and without all the side effects of prednisolone, Verapamil and the like. Essential Oils Peppermint rubbed on the temples and back of the neck which for me is the first indication of an onset has proven effective too. Guys are expected to grow out of it in our fifties. I'm still hoping that happens as nobody truly understands the severity of this type of pain."
