"Trazodone has been a miracle for me. It has helped my headaches, which I was having daily. It also has caused me to lose some weight, which makes me feel better. It has also helped with my anxiety. Only problem I have had so far, is that if I take it too late at night, I will feel groggy in the morning. I am on 100mgs."

"I don’t recommend trazadone at ALL nfor headches. It did make me sleepy, but it also made me feel a bit dizzy and nauseous. which gave me major anxiety. The next day I woke up with a pounding headache and I couldn’t move my head. It was terrible. It lasted 2 days. I wasn’t sure if it was the medication at first or not, so I waited about a week to try it again and the same thing happened. I’m aware everyone is different when it comes to the tolerance of medication, but I hope this was helpful."

"My provider has been prescribing me this medication trazodone for last 2 years for a sleep aid. At first I did not realize how & where I was getting all the throbbing migraine headaches & the major sexual side affects until I did research. To walk around popping excedrin all day & NEVER able to get an ERECTION was awful. Not worth a dime to me, finally discontinued. I stayed awake all day & exercised & was able to sleep 8 hrs fine now. Just be active all day."

"Worst medication I’ve ever had. Been on it for 3 years (150-300mg for sleep) and I can’t feel better not taking it. Terrible headaches, worse withdrawal than on opioids, waking up with worse hangover than drinking a liter of vodka the night before. Stay away."

"I’ve taken Trazodone two days in a row for insomnia. I woke up after the first dose with a headache, lethargy, and overall feeling of “ick”. As the day went on, my right side jaw bone started to ache, as well as my front teeth. I also had congestion and a slight cough. I took a second dose the next night, and woke up 1.5 hours later than normal with a headache, jaw pain, congestion lethargy, and “Ick”. I took acetaminophen for the headache and jaw pain and basically laid in bed for the rest of the day. I’m going to discontinue using Trazodone and just live through being unable to sleep. These side effects have reduced my quality of life - I do not want to lay in bed all day with a pounding headache. I’m glad I took it over a weekend, otherwise I would not have been able to work during a weekday."

"Apparently people who have migraines on a regular ... Trazodone helps. But for me, it was prescribed to me yesterday for insomnia. I took it for the first time last night and woke up with a head ache, which lead into a migraine for the entire day. You would laugh if you came across what I look like right now. I have a hot rice pack, full of lavender essential oil, hanging over my head. It's only getting worse. Idk if I will take another one tonight. I tried coffee. Pressure points. Twilight ..."

"Was prescribed 100mg for insomnia I have experienced migraines all my life, had ovarian cysts rupture, broken a few bones, had appendicitis. I have never experienced pain as terrible as the trazodone headache. It woke me up and wouldn’t leave for 2 days nothing helps you can’t sleep it off. There is no relief. I would never recommend this medication on the off chance you experience this headache as well."

"After decades of insomnia I thought I had found the help I needed. I slept for 7-9 hours every night. It was great for the first month then the headaches started every few days and they would last for 2-3 days. I also have a history of migraines, but researched and discovered I could not take sumatriptan with Trazodone. Taking NSAIDs are not good either. So I’m going to discontinue."

"I've spent 20+ years on Ambien and needed something different, so my Dr. put me on 100mg of Trazadone. I didn't put two and two together when I started getting severe and longer lasting headaches. I went to the ER during one of these headaches because my BP was elevated and I thought it was hypertension. The ER Dr's checked EVERYTHING and couldn't figure out what was wrong, the reason for the headaches. I was even given morphine in the ER for the pain and that didn't help at all. Not until I read all these comments did I now realize, Trazadone has been causing my headaches. Please stay away, sleeping is NOT worth the constant pain from headaches, oh and one eye is also blurry and the eye Dr can't figure out why, he said all is normal. Trazadone will change your life and NOT for the better, stay aways from it. I'm titrating now to get off of this drug."

"I took this medication for a few years for my migraines, I suffered from tremors, stomach issues, constipation, blurred vision and skin issues. Basically almost all of the side effects listed I suffered from. It was not till I missed two days did I know about the withdrawals which were very bad. I slowly weaned off this medication and for over six weeks dealt with withdrawals. After I stopped my headaches changed and are not as bad. I didn’t know my meds were making me sicker. While on it I was 50 lbs under weight and diagnosed with anorexia, for me the best was getting off this. My opinion is this is very bad for me. If you take this be sure not to ignore your feelings and issues you didn’t see prior to taking this.Just be careful..."

"This med is as awful as it is useless! I decided to try something other than Zopiclone just to be “safer” and any avoid dependency issues and avoid the awful metallic taste… but don’t, just don’t. I’ve had the worst headache for weeks now. I’m not prone to headaches and this one is throbbing and PERSISTENT!! I even went to the ER worried my birth control was putting me at risk for a stroke. Thankfully CT was normal, but even IV dexamethasone, metoclopramide, ketorolac, and saline barely made a dent in my headache. And it didn’t even help me sleep. Absolute garbage. Stay away!"

"I was taking trazodone for sleep 50 mg after a couple months it wasn't helping anymore my dr. switched me to 100 mg and after about a week I started to have bad headaches so I went back to 50 mg and the headaches stopped for a couple days, then they started up again. I stopped taking the drug and its been three days now the headaches have not gone away, I am hoping that another day or so they will be gone but right now I am suffering with them."

"I used to get severe migraines where I was in a dark room with a cold rag on my head for a day or two. My doctor prescribed trazodone and I’ve been taking it for 10+ years and I don’t have headaches anymore I haven’t had any side effects. It’s been a lifesaver."

"I was having daily horrible migraines for months at a time until I started taking Trazodone. When I started out, I was at 25 mg highly, but over the course of maybe 8-10 months, while I did experience a 90% decrease in migraine frequency, I built up tolerance to the drug quickly. This medication was a miracle even if I can’t take it frequently anymore due to how quickly I build up tolerance when taken daily. I can still use it once in a while when I absolutely need to, and I will have a decrease in migraine symptoms for 1-2 days which is nice. Trazadone often left me groggy the next day, but it was so worth it compared to the debilitating migraine pain. Sadly, I have yet to find something else that provides that level of relief."

"I had a horrible headache the entire next day. Also felt tired and out of it. I’d rather deal with being tired from no sleep than the way this drug made me feel the next day."
