Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Started taking 2.5 last Thursday. Day 1 no side effects, day 2 mild nausea, day 3 everything broke loose! Dizzy spells, clammy sweats, severe abdominal pains, and bloating. Ended up in ER and blood pressure was so high I was at stroke level! Readings were 220/123, 187/113, 197/116, 178/112! No issues before medication! Beware this medication is so new there is no telling show many other side effects it can have! I pray this mess gets out of my system soon!"

Zepbound (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Zepbound 17 days ago. 64-year-old woman, 210 lbs, BMI 33.9, height 5 ft 6 inches. Insulin resistant, high blood pressure, and cholesterol, sleep apnea. No problem at all with the injection. I don't even feel it. I do bring it to room temperature before injecting. I was terrified of the potential side effects but thankfully haven't experienced any that aren't very manageable. I notice if I eat certain foods for dinner, they aren't digested by morning, so I avoid those. I might feel a bit of nausea from time to time but use ginger chews. I definitely feel full faster and eat less. I've only weighed myself once so far, on day 9, and was down 7 pounds. Frankly, I have been a little scared of the scale after failing so many different diets (Keto, Intermittent Fasting, South Beach, Weight Watchers, to name a few). I'd diligently stay on them for several weeks only to have the scale not budge, or sometimes my weight went up! So discouraging. I'm so hopeful with this new medication!"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started taking this medication for weight loss. My first round of the 4 injections was 2.5 mg and it had no negative side effects at all, I just had no appetite. I lost 10 lbs within that 4 weeks. I then moved up to the .5 mg. The day after taking the first injection nausea hit like a train. I never threw up but was just nauseous. I called my doctor, and she prescribed medication for the nausea which helped immensely. By the time I took my second injection, the nausea had gone away, and I had lost another 5 lbs. I still have so much more to go and I'm very optimistic. I literally have had no appetite; nothing sounds good or tastes good. I do drink as much water as I can throughout the day. I've had no problems with constipation but as a precaution, I take a couple of stool softeners once a week and I'm good to go. I used to have a sweet tooth, but not now. Great benefits, has tolerable side effects and is very easy to use."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Started 10/26. Weight 245, female. 2.5 1x, 5, 1x, 10mg, last 2 months. Current 214. Zero exercise unfortunately. I have read so many reviews and I am baffled at all these bad side effects, since mine were so minor (except constipation and tiredness day after injection). Learned early, no sugar, breads, or pasta/potato. I take no other meds, do a strict low carb and fast. I have a protein shake at noon, a meat and a LC veg for dinner (small portion always), then freeze a protein shake for two hours and it makes ice creamish. Delish! That’s all I eat daily. Hunger is now fully controllable! My A1C started at 6.7, BUT I was on low carb for 6 weeks prior to blood work so likely much higher in general. Last weeks blood test showed A1C at 5.0. My ALT SGPT (liver) was high last test, and normal range this time. What did go up was my top 4 CBC numbers. Overall, this is a game changer. So grateful. I truly believe eating right is the key when on this med. Hope this helps someone."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am a white male, age 64, with type 2 diabetes. I started with a weight of 280 pounds, but in 10 weeks, I have managed to reduce it to 219 pounds. This achievement has been possible with the help of Mounjaro. Currently, I am only taking 7.5 units of Mounjaro. Previously, I used to take 5 insulin shots a day, but now I only require 1 in the morning if my sugar levels are above 145. My goal is to become insulin-free, and I am on my way to achieving that. I have been dependent on insulin for over 20 years. In addition to medication, I have made significant lifestyle changes. I work out 5 times a week and have made adjustments to my diet. These efforts, combined with Mounjaro, have allowed me to get back my life. I am grateful to Mounjaro for giving me this opportunity to regain control of my health."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Zepbound for seven and a half weeks now. I have lost 20 lbs! I am happy about that. I love how it takes that constant hunger I felt and cravings for junk are gone - that’s a miracle in itself. I did have some side effects of bloating, nausea, and sulfur burps and gas, but they do seem to taper off as your body adjusts to the dose. I am now up to a 5 mg dose but have opted to stay here for now because the nausea was increasing. I have no hunger at all. I will try it another month at 5 mg and if no relief in the nausea, I will ask to go back to the 2.5 dose. I continue to lose 2-3 pounds a week and it is adding up."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Good results. Immediate appetite suppression starting with the lowest dose. More importantly, my food cravings went away. It takes a couple of weeks, at most, to get through the psychological part of less appetite/less food. You get full quickly and yet you feel like you still want to eat because your mind is telling you, "how can you be full already, you've only had 4 bites?" It only takes one or two times of being nauseated or vomiting to remember to eat less. I have lost 48 lbs in exactly 7 months, and my hypertension is gone."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m an 6’4, 275 male, 62 years old - no diabetes or health issues, on no other meds. Obtained prescription via Dr and took first 2.5mg injection on Dec. 24. Lost 10 pounds with the first 3 shots, then Dr said I could go to 5mg (saved the last 2.5mg pen for future use) because weight loss had stopped. After starting mg, lost 2 pounds in 2 days - so combined weight loss using 2.5/5mg is now at 12 pounds in e weeks! No significant/terrible side effects except some constipation, intermittent fatigue, and minor chills at times (not a lot - could just be the cold weather). Ive yo-yoed up and down with weight for years. Because of my size, I can eat a lot of food - but this drug has significantly reduced my appetite and I have more energy overall. I can’t wait to see the results in a few more months. Zepbound has so far been perfect for me. I don’t mind the $550 price (with the Lilly savings card - has been hard to get CVS to make it work but that’s another story/nightmare)."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am currently taking Mounjaro. I was weighing 263 lbs in November 2023, and I have lost 93 lbs. I am at 170 now. I went from size 18 and 20 to size 12. I was on Ozempic and could not take that; it made me so sick. I have no problems with Mounjaro other than sulfur burps and a lot of gas. I have to make myself eat, and when I do, I only eat a bite of food. I am on the 7.5 dosage now, and I am so lucky that my insurance covers it, and my cost is $25.00."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Started taking specifically for weight loss. Starting weight on Aug 1 was 192# and did the 2.5mg for a month. Weight on Aug 30 was 176#! Only side effect was the WORST dry mouth -woah! Not expecting that but it went away. It completely took away constant thoughts of eating and cravings. Weight loss was effortless. Started 5mg - 2nd week had a lot more nausea - felt like pregnancy nausea. If I was busy, I wouldn't think about it but if I thought about eating or smelled food - no thank you! It was the most intense the day after I did my shot and for the next 2 days or so. Weight after 2 months - 162.6! I'm on week 7 of 5mg and the nausea is basically gone. Weight hasn't changed for the last week."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I am a Type-2 diabetic. I have been on Mounjaro for several months. It is controlling my blood sugar great, and I have lost some weight. My biggest problem with the Mounjaro is the fact that I cannot get it because of unavailability. I don't understand how people who want to lose weight take priority over people with a medical condition. The people with diabetes need this medication and are not able to get their prescriptions filled because the people who want to lose weight are hoarding this medication. I also want to lose weight, however, the control of my blood sugars is a priority to me. I cannot control my blood sugars without my medication. Something needs to be done so that diabetics can control the disease. Obesity is not a disease, but diabetes is. Mounjaro is a great medication for type-2 diabetics for controlling their blood sugar. Availability for diabetics should be a priority."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm a 53-year-old male and my weight has gone up slowly with each passing year, so the ladies at my doctor's office were telling me how they all were losing weight by taking the Mounjaro shots. I was a little bit worried at first because of the thought of having to give myself a shot. I barely felt it, so I started out on the 2.5 shots, and the only side effect I got was the burping sulfur taste. This is the absolute best thing I could have done; it's lowered my blood pressure, and I'm off the meds for that. I sleep better and feel healthier, the only bad thing is my clothes don't fit. I'm feeling better about myself. I'm now on the 10mgs, but each month I went up to a stronger dose, but I'm going to stay with the 10s as a maintenance shot. I don't feel hungry at all; I have no cravings, I have to make myself eat, and when I do eat, it's just a little bit at a time. You don't want to overeat on this or you will be sorry. I highly recommend it. A big thanks to the makers of Mounjaro. I've lost 40 pounds in 4 months."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Been on Zepbound 7 weeks now. Lost about 22 lbs so far with no exercise. This stuff is amazing at curbing your appetite. But beware, stick to healthy foods and minimal portions because the nausea is otherworldly. I ate too much too late in the day yesterday. I had to leave work early today for the second time since being on this med. Light-headed, profuse sweating, chills, diarrhea almost non-stop and even puking. This med is a miracle, but you cannot mess around. Take it seriously. Cut back portions, minimal dairy, low sugar and don't eat too late. I'm excited to see how far I can go on this med. So thankful I have access."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Diabetes, Type 2 "It’s been 2 years. Yes, there were challenges. Some nausea. Lot’s of constipation. Some fatigue. And mostly good aversion. I understand fully the phrase eat to live. This medication was/is a game changer for long-time diabetes sufferers. I lost 50 pounds. Got off of insulin shots. Cholesterol meds. BP meds. I am over 60 years old and feel better than I did at 40. I would rate my experience on Mounjaro on a scale from 1-10, a solid 10. Everyone’s journey is unique, based on many different factors. I would rate my journey as successful."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "So far, so good. Rarely get hungry and can't eat too much. Side effects: Heartburn, reflux, constipation, hair loss. I will have to weigh myself in the morning, but I am guessing I am down about 8 lbs. in 5 weeks. Just started on the 5 ml. No exercise yet. Wine and alcohol will definitely slow down the progress. Not a lot of cravings for junk. Every now and then I want something fried, but it will have you on the crapper by the next morning! Stay away from greasy food on this! And YES, the needle DOES hurt to me!"

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "Started with 2.5, been on it nearly three weeks, anticipated side effects but other than mild constipation, I experienced none. My appetite was nonexistent, had to remember to eat. Night eating gone, overeating gone, strong cravings gone. Injection easy peasy. Coupon only way I could afford this med (25/mo versus over 1k/mo). No feeling weird like stimulants, just pretty normal. I'm pairing with intermittent fasting per my GP and trying to incorporate intuitive eating as much as possible. I am not counting calories or weighing myself but I am likely down 5-10# in 2 weeks combo of water weight and loss. Bloat gone, body feels good, excited to see if this keeps working this well."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have never had anything like this in my life! I was always small and IBW until I went through menopause. Afterwards, I gained weight regardless of what I did. Nothing I tried, and no program I did helped. Once I reached a size 22 on my 5'4 frame and weighed almost 230 lb, I decided to do something else. By this time, I had also become "pre-diabetic" and was insulin resistant. I have been on Mounjario for 7 months and am now a size 8, down 65 pounds. My blood sugars are perfect, and I feel like my old self again! The journey has been effortless, and I enjoy the foods I like, but my body metabolizes it better. I have now switched to Wegovy since insurance only covers Mounjaro if you are a diabetic. I would stay on it forever, but cannot continue to pay almost $1100.00/month for it."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) "I started Mounjaro on July 1, 2022. I just turned 74 and was at the end of my rope with my obesity. I immediately developed a sour stomach/nausea and heartburn. But the wonderful side effect of having no appetite and not obsessing about food EVERY WAKING MOMENT was worth it. I still enjoy food, just eat less than half what I used to and no snacking. I lost 30 pounds in 2 months. I take one more injection (totally painless and easy to give) of 7.5 mg and then move up to 10 mg. My worst problem is terrible constipation. I’m working on it by using Colace, etc. but haven’t solved it completely. Since I’m on Medicare, I am paying THOUSANDS of dollars for this drug. So my savings account is decreasing but so is my weight. If I can afford it, I hope to stay on Mounjaro for one year. I still go to Weight Watchers and live by their eating plan which is very healthy."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "After so many people I knew were doing so well on these injections, I started Zepbound 6 weeks ago. I was fine for 24 hours, then the side effects kicked in. I don't recall ever feeling this sick. Sulfur burps, churning stomach, started vomiting and diarrhea for 3 full days. I was sick for days after the first shot. I had no hunger while so very sick. Week 2 and 3 had no problems and the food cravings were gone. I was prepared to be very successful on this medication. Week 4 sulfur burps came back again, 24 hours after my injection. The same reactions returned but less violent; I was sick for 24 hours. Maybe a fluke? Week 5 and 24 hours in, same sulfur burps started it again: diarrhea, stomach spasms, and vomiting. Nope, off the Zepbound. I would rather stay fat than make myself sick with every dose. I never got beyond 2.5. I know this has been wonderful for some people; it's just not for me."

Zepbound (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Started at the end of Jan 24. 4 weeks at 2.5mg, 8 weeks at 5mg due to lack of supply. I've had to seek alternatives due to the shortage of this drug, but it is worth it. I've lost 30 pounds in 14 weeks and moved up to 7.5mg on my last dose. The food noise is gone. The alcohol noise is gone. Other than some nausea and fatigue on shot day, side effects have been mild and easily manageable. I wish I'd have been able to start this long ago and gotten my life back. 30 pounds to go and I have no doubt I will be successful."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "This medication has given me my life back. I have been on the diet and workout train for the last 24 years, but nothing worked to lose a significant amount of weight. I did take one medication that worked temporarily years ago but left me feeling like trash, and once I was finished, the weight came back and then some. I have lost 90 lbs on Mounjaro over the last 14 months. Yes, my eating did improve because it quieted the food noise. I no longer starve myself throughout the day and then binge. Mounjaro has truly changed my life. I was giving up hope and falling into depression because nothing worked, and I didn't want to risk my life with surgery. Thank you to the makers of this medication. You have no idea how you are changing people with weight loss struggles. It's so much bigger than stop eating and working out more. I wish people would understand, and I wish insurance would approve this for weight loss. So many people are struggling. I never got real sick, sometimes a little nausea the day after."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Wonderful. No side effects. Have appetite suppression, which is good for weight loss. However, I do not feel I am starving at all. Have lost 6.8 lbs. in the first two weeks. Taking 2.5 mg. Walking 45 minutes on treadmill early each day and do not really have the desire to eat junk food. Eat well, especially breakfast which was the same I had been doing, but the same after I had heart surgery last year. I am increasing to 5mg. after this week and I will see how it goes. No side effects at all as far as I can tell."

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I’m type 2 diabetic and was on Ozempic for quite sometime and having difficulty getting my med. My doctor changed me to Mounjaro for my diabetes thinking I would be able to get my meds. I started on the 5mg since I had been on Ozempic. My side effects were typical slight nausea. I was trying to get my 2nd month filled and the issues started with availability AGAIN. The 5mg and 7.5mg were on backorder. He increased my dose to 10mg. I have experienced sulfur burps but that is about it. I have not seen much weight loss but then again I’m more concerned about my diabetes. Shame on the drug companies for dangling a med that works to lower A1C and cholesterol and choosing to utilize it for weight loss where the insurance won’t cover it. I’m not using this med for vanity it’s for my chronic disease."

The main thing is to watch what you eat and quit when you are full. The only side effects I've seen are fatigue and constipation. The shots don't bother me at all and no nausea, thank goodness. The only thing I'm really worried about is gaining it back when I stop. Good luck to all!"
